I purchased a 2023 Prius last year and went to a dealership 45 miles away because they didn't have or believe in mark-ups. They pick people up at the airport, bus terminal and train station all the time. Hell, they had a car come and get me and take me to the dealership because I wasn't trading a car in. Shop around.

Please Toyota - a note to the product planners and/or whoever determines what features go in what packages: please make the panoramic roof a standalone option. I don't want one, and I don't want to have it forced on me by including other things in that package that I can't do without, like Traffic Jam Assist, 360 degree surround view, and so on. Thank you in advance Toyota.

Very hard to part with my 2005 Camry LE 220K miles, love it!. Primary reason is the seating position is perfect, not a little sunk in as in modern cars. For 2025, I expected a brand new design, this looks like it has been heavily refreshed. That being said, I think the XLE looks good, thanks to Toyota for the Hybrid AWD option and to keep building sedans. Waiting to test drive it.

Look at 10:31 - the concept/sketch looks great! But on production model that "hammerhead" became more narrow. Why? Those LED DRLs could look awesome if they were located further from each other. Like on the new Prius. I see the 2025 Camry has a pair of vertical LED projectors in each headlamp while the new Prius has a single projector below the "hammerhead" thing, thus "the hammer" on the Prius is wider and looks better. And the crown has just over a ton of towing that’s nothing. Toyota, thank you very very much for being brave enough to bring the Crown Signia to North America! I love the proportions of this vehicle - it's a homerun IMHO. I do however have a wish list. I don't understand your product planners at all - the Crown is meant to represent the best of Toyota, right? Well then, here's my list. 1. Lack of Hybrid Max powertrain. It's available on the other Crown, so why not this one? What a disappointment, and for me, a deal breaker. I hope you offer this later, perhaps in a Platinum trim that has the H.M. powertrain and some other missing features. 2. Lack of HUD - I realize the other Crown here in N.A. doesn't have one, but, if this is the premium nameplate for Toyota, why omit a feature that is available on the gorgeous brand new Camry? 3. Lack of Traffic Jam Assist - available on the other Crown, and now also available in the new Camry, it is missing in action here in the Signia. What is up with that? I have a disability that is greatly compensated for by a system like T.J.A. Very disappointing that it is missing here. Maybe it will become available in a future Platinum trim (or simply made an option in the Limited trim.) I sure hope there's nothing missing in the hardware that precludes easily adding this later? 4. Fourth generation hybrid system - this is according to a Toyota spokesperson quoted in a video by the "Driven" car review channel. The new Camry and the new Prius (and others?) use the newest 5th generation system. Is this an issue of total system output? I.E. the Signia is quoted at 243 hp, but the Prius and the new Camry have less. Is the 5th gen system intended for use only in your smaller, lighter vehicles by chance? 5. No mention of 360 cameras - I cannot assume it does since I assumed all of the above four items would be available and was wrong. 6. No mention of any parking aids. The other Crown has Advanced Park on the Platinum trim. Please? 7. Parking sensors? I didn't see evidence of them nor did I see them mentioned in the press release. Please? I would appreciate some feedback on these deal-breaking omissions - thank you in advance.
@jsfbay1
@jsfbay1 10 месяцев назад
After reading the press release, I am pleased to say that #3 on my list, Traffic Jam Assist, *is* available in a package on the Limited grade. The prototype vehicle did not include the driver monitor camera(s) so I assumed the feature was missing. Also #5 is available in a package.

Disappointed with Toyota Signia. I have been waiting for the Crown Estate for 2 years. The lame low single headlights and absence of a spare are deal-breakers. 36 mpg? Why bother with the complexity of the hybrid? I rented a 2022 Camry normal gas engine that got 37 mpg on highway. I was really hopeful about the Estate, now the SIgnia disappoints big time. And I sure don’t want a vehicle with a glass panorama roof - potentially fatal in a roll over. Too many negatives.
@jsfbay1
@jsfbay1 10 месяцев назад
I'd prefer the even lower mpg Hybrid Max powertrain, but different strokes for different folks. I do agree about the glass roof - that should be made a stand-alone option so I could configure mine without it.

The HybridMAX powertrain is favored more for performance rather than efficiency. You’re still getting a higher mpg figure though compared to vehicles of a similar class.

Toyota financial screwed up my credit by 100pts from THIER ERROR and they refuse to reverse it. Pay cash or finance elsewhere.

yeah I agree. Honda is going to have to go back to the table and re-spec its Accord after this. That said, I'm still looking forward to trying out an Accord Hybrid and Camry SE FWD & AWD back to back.

Both new vehicles look nice, but, why everyone presenting new products try to exhaustion to imitate Steve Jobs style?. Nop. They have the same effect of a valium

I'm definitely getting older, but my god does the new Camry look good. It might just be my next daily driver in SE AWD but with 17s in the beautiful teal colour. I'm very surprised to hear its design was axed on the driving enthusiast in mind...that's a very pleasant surprise. I just really hope a Camry Prime sees the light because that'll be the nail in the coffin for all other manufacturers, minus maybe Mazda who says they're planning a RWD-biased PHEV Mazda6. Plug-in hybrid is definitely the way to go, in my honest opinion. Full electrification should be a long-term focus, but getting everyone in an electrified car with a daily amount of range needs to be done now. I'm happy that Toyota seems to be fazing out its gas-only powertrains, offering hybridization as its only option, but I'd like Toyota to take that a step further and offer a PHEV option in every trim in every model.

Oh, please. "Stunning? I'm still waiting. All of these new cars simply look too much like a Hyundai Sonata. No, thank you.
