What a great kit. I am very thankful for building this kit. I’m thankful because, I cannot believe AMT did such a great job designing this kit mold, and with great instructions. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the build/review Chris. The AMT Razor Crest looks very good and I liked the paint suggestions on the side of the box by Round 2. Hopefully Round 2 will do a revised Naboo starfighter in the future as well.
Another outstanding build by HPIGUY!! You really do some nice weathering! Great job round2/AMT, you obviously made sure everything was right ! Excellent model. 🙂🚀
Chris - you are either Magic or Psychic or both. This is EXACTLY the build I / we need now. I'm awaiting evacuation instructions because a wild fire is headed my way - and yet I'm HAPPILY watching this while I wait. But it's not all about me. I'm certain other folks have their own stresses right now for a variety of reasons. So a visit to an imaginary place where WE are in CONTROL is a pleasant oasis from the madness. Plus the quality of this build pulls us right in - far from our hostile World. Thanks again...
I see I am not the only one that uses the Liquitex acrylic ink for washes and/or panel lining. Great video and presentation here! I got the tiny Bandai version but I would love to build this one.
@@Orcagirl0809 He shows the label on the bottle.. the color is Carbon Black(at 59:50). He uses it on the guns and engines. I have used Liquitex acrylic paints and inks for various projects. The ink is thin enough it works great for panel-lining and washes.
Well, the Revell kit has full cargo area detail including toilet and bunk, and 2 opening side doors and the rear cargo ramp, where the AMT kit is missing these.
Brilliant work, I'm really looking forward to this kit and I want to light mine, though haven't done that before so need to try that out on a different test model first. Still need to work out my metallic paints too, as I want to mask off different panels and then really weather it up
That's what bothered me about the mandalorian season 3, The razor crest is missing. Because it got destroyed in season 2. The razor crest was mandos version of bobas slave 1 vehicle. Could you picture if the mandalorian had a toy line and a big razor crest vehicle was in the assortment? I'm a 3.75 scale quarter guy not the mission fleet type of collector. That line is for little ones younger than me. Although I do have the falcon from that line but I never use it I just see it as a small model ship compared to the giant one. There was also a Boba ship and a razor crest in that line but it's not for 3 inch it's for the smaller class ones. Hasbro created a vintage collection razor but marked it too high for buy. They didn't even make a retro collection razor to go with the retro collection additions of the Mando characters for that assortment. The figures are good really great, if only disney did not blow up the frikin ship in the episode Boba comes back; the razor crest would have been useful for season 3 and the book of Boba fett. That ship is first next to slave 1 in my opinion favorite.
Great build looks fantastic, but I could be wrong but I think Round Two are trying to make as much money as possible out of us because you know they will bring a separate interior kit out next year and that's a bug bear for me. Don't get me wrong round two make fantastic kits second to none but not every can scratch build an interior or as access to a 3D printer, they don't think about the modeler that's just getting in to the hobby or just can not afford to buy two kits to make one, I've got a lot of round two kits but I can not afford it my self especially with how much a kit costs at the moment.
@@jhoodcomics Then why design it with open hatches for landing mode, makes you think. I'm not knocking the kit it's fantastic just do what Airfix does and just put a basic interior in the cargo bay.!!!!
It looks more detail/parts than Revell's. However, would AMT sell this kit overseas? I try to get one made by Revell but the local wholesaler told me that Revell does not allow all of its Star Wars series kits to be shipped and sold in the country I live!
Okay, I just finally got the scale kit and I love it! I got a question for you, what led lights would you pick if you're placing some lights inside the model? Hopefully you could reply me, thanks. Can't wait to start.
Personally I'd use EL wire. Hobby Lobby sells it. It gives a nice even glow inside the engines but doesn't light like a light bulb and project light. The battery pack will fit into the cargo area easily.
When $35 model kits start going for $75 that's a no. F all these post pandemic price gougers. They probably charge $15+ for shipping to. They should (at least) come with light kits for that.
