Right? Noticed immediately that something is off, and now compared to the old this just looks terrible. The red is the indication of it beeing an "S" version, the red and s should be connected like always, this new thing looks stupid.
Very unfortunate that you didn't switch to the new DYNAMIC PLUS driving mode, which was introduced for the first time in the facelift. You would certainly have had even more fun, as the engine, transmission, and torque splitter are tuned for even more feedback and emotions. Maybe next time 😋
@@HaruHaruman m240i xdrive is a 2 door coupe and still quite a bit more expensive then an S3. The equivalent car from BMW is M235i and it cost pretty much the same as an S3 so if we are going to compare the S3 with something it should be the M235.
Something here is either modified or this is the version without the GPF filter. Stock sound is worse than horrible. And optional Akrapovic is a disaster in this case.
What? Of course it has a rev limiter. I suppose what you meant is the soft limiter while stationary... well as you could see in the "tunnel" clip, there is a soft limiter somewhere in the high 3k revs. That car sounds like a hair dryer lol.
@@TheNecromancer6666 the audi is way more beautiful and way safer/easier to drive super aggressively daily on public roads (not a concern if you live in western europe or NA as you cant drive like that there 😀)
@yadevable The M240i is an almost perfect Coupe shape. The S3 Limo is a pretty normal car. The M240i is just playing in another league. It is easier to drive fast. Though the BMW is absolutely no problem in the dry. It is a bit sketchy in the rain. But I knew that before buying a 374hp RWD car. It's also A LOT faster then the S3. Despite the weight. I live in Germany and allegedly its no problem to hunt Motorbikes on B Roads. Allegedly.
@@TheNecromancer6666 neah, you can’t drive 400hp RWD with full aggression on the public roads “easily”. I.e. doing an overtake on 2 lane bidirectional road where you have to change lane with full throttle is a battle to keep the car from spinning. Even valid with my M5 F90 xDrive. Do it for a 2 hour drive to go to another city and you will need a restday to recover. BMWs are faster on track but not on public roads where you have to go full throttle while doing a hard manuever coz they just oversteer and you cant afford to oversteer between cars 😀 also m240 is not a proper bmw comparison to the S3. We should look at M235 vs S3 - same car class, same price range.
@yadevable Yes you can. The M240i is so communicative and builds so much trust. No problem what so ever. And you don't ever need to keep it from spinning on Asphalt. It has amazing traction and the active diff works wonders to keep rotation productive and the car moving forward instead of sideways. I drive that car everyday and usually for long distances. I quite regularly cross Germany from the very south to the very north in a day. No problem. Its very relaxed. You pretend like the oversteer is uncontrollable or the driver doesn't react to it. Almost all the "oversteer", in the dry at least, is very helpful rotation. Even if it starts sliding its usually at a very shallow and easily controllable angle, still more helpful then something to be corrected. Plus: it will only slide if I make it slide. And then I can start turning unto the slide before it happens, meaning it will end up precisely where I point it. All your supposed problem are really only a problem on the rain. Where the combination of the rather aggressive tyres and the engine lead to sometimes hilariously bad traction and sudden, very nasty snapps of oversteer.
@@TheNecromancer6666 happy that you drive a car that perfectly fits your needs, brother. Havent driven the 240, but the M5 F90 is definitely trying to kill me all the time 😁 Thats why I am replacing it with a facelifted S3, will be the perfect daily for me
As with the Golf 7 vs Golf 8, the 2016-2020 facelift is still the best A3, at least comparing my RS3 Limo to 8Y with its eye-bags and hard plastic interiors😂
Absolutely true and the RS3 8V2 is the perfect sporty-elegant powerhouse 👌❤️🔥 8Y looks over the top from outside and plastic-glossy like from inside plus it crackles everywhere. Yeah, and those "tipped over L" shaped headlights🤦 Had it for a weekend and wasn't too impressed
Agree. I had 3 8Vs in my life, an A3 which was a pre facelift model (2014, s-line) and I have to say, even though the design is over 10 years old nowadays, even the pre facelift still looks stunning (speaking about the limo/sedan/saloon/whatever, not a huge fan of the hatchback). Had a 2018 S3, man just comparing the hair dryer like sound of the new S3 to my old S3 (especially when it had the APR exhaust), that car sounded great for a 4pot. My current RS3 Limo (2020), well... I can't see how I'm ever going to sell that car. Its an OPF/GPF model unfortunately, beeing a 2020 model, but with valves fully open, that thing sounds amazing. Lookswise, my RS3 is kyalami green, rare color on the 8V, standard on the 8Y - Stood next to an kyalami 8Y once, I prefer the 8V from pretty much every angle. Truly a timeless design.
Let me correct you: this car is a downgrade to its predecessor in almost every aspect. Bizarre looking Headlights looking like a fallen "L" (some even call them eye-bags lol) and plastic glossy interior. That ugly "design" only pushes the value of the facelift 8V lol
@@hsiautoclub m2 is totally different car in totally different price range. If you are going to compare S3 with a BMW it has to be the M235 - same car class, same price range
Bruh thats the same motor then the Golf 8 R, and the stats are almost the same too, 2.0 L, 333 HP, 420 Nm and this one take 4,7 seconds to 100 kph and the golf 8 R take 4,6 seconds. The sound is exactly the same so this one is a 4 cylinder too right?
Audi’s have got progressively worse over the years, from the interior to the build quality. Peak Audi was from 2017-2020 those 4 years Audi were untouchable in my opinion, really high build quality and the interior just made sense.
@@dvh8543right, but Audi is worse due to the fact that, apart from this model, they have not produced any true fully new platform for a gasoline engine car. They're selling outdated facelifted models with outdated drivetrains with little to no changes, and all of this at top prices.
VW Inc press cars always tend to be faster than the actual car which can be bought later on. You can expect this Audi to have like 30-40 hp more than it should have. If you buy a S3 yourself later, it‘ll not be that fast. Think times around 12 secs are more realistic
A 4 year old Tesla Model 3 LR is still faster. And waaaaay cheaper both purchase and running cost. And the interior quality is equally poor in modern German plastic cars. The German car industry just can't keep up with their outdated ICEs.
It’s a common feeling that the e.888 engines give, it’s because they’re so detuned from factory. They are a very over engineered platform for their performance , which means reliability when tuned.
