In my opinion the 5 most likely sets to be chosen based on the number of comments which may indicate the popularity and the number of votes are Adventure in Transylvania, Mushroom Village, The Thieves of Tortuga, Privateer Frigate Fortuna and Beyond the Wall: Maid's Hut. Some honourable mentions: River Knights Watch Tower and Adobe House. You can swap out the Privateer Frigate Fortuna with either of the honourable mentions but I like that one more. We also got 2 medieval/castle themed sets in series 4 so it's unlikely that we will get 2 in series 5 as well. It's also unlikely that we will get 2 pirates themed sets but one can only hope, otherwise swap out the Privateer Frigate Fortuna with the Adobe House or another set with a lot of comments, I may have missed some. The others except for the Beyond the Wall: Maid's Hut have too many comments for them not to be popular enough to be chosen in series 5, but we will see.
However in series 4 the merchant boat and the wild west train got few comments but they were made by previous finalists so maybe bricklink prefers previous finalists.
Hi, thanks for featuring my Trading Post! Since you asked, it has not been in Lego Ideas before, but I did submit it to series 4 of BDP. I made several changes to it betwern series 4 and 5 to improve detail and playability.
Thanks for the updated design really cool! Sorry I got it mixed between Ideas and Bricklink, know I'd covered the first one before but couldn't recall where
Thank you so much for your great comments on my design, Deep Sea Discovery. You totally got what I was going for City X Pirates. Awesome! Great video, all of these BDP videos are great.
😂 that intro. I really like several of these sets. It would be nice to get an equal distribution for the finalists. 1 from pirates, 1 from trains, a modular, a castle etc.
1) Deep Sea Discovery 2) Thieves of Old Tortuga 3) Pirate Life 4) The Old Skull My personnel collection. The second year pirate ship with the skull in the back. Mutliple small pirate ships and good guy ships as well. Red Beard Runner Black Pearl if I can find it. Mystery Pirate Ship I cannot remember which one I purchased. Barracuda Bay 3 n 1 Pirate Ships x 2
Fortuna is so beautiful and realistic. I could swear it's the original lego version of Bartholomew "Black Bart" Robert's ship (it has and his flag). I'd buy it without hesitation. It's great 😉👍👌.
What if in future Lego would added a new Pirate faction which would be Asian theme pirates based on( or inspired by) China(Ladrones) and(or) Japan(Wokou)
For me give Star Wars a rest. Build all of these Pirate theme sets. Build a dystopia of Blade Runner. Don't worry Star War fans you have your Re Do on the Re Do on the Re Do on the Re Do to keep you happy.
So many great Pirate sets. The standouts for me are the Pirate Dream. Something unique and fun. And like that it's a smaller set. I also like the trading Post as one that could go along with the El Dorado Fortress. The Kraken Attack would make a wonderful display piece. I love Pirate Life, but I do have Baracuda Bay (one of my favorite builds of all time), so I would likely pass on this if it became available, but I do like it a lot. I love the uniqueness of Anchor. The Tortuga one though would be difficult not to get if it won. It is such an amazing display piece but also so much there to just have fun with.
Some exceptional submissions in the Pirate theme for this round - my Top 5 below. I will be very disappointed if Tortuga doesn’t make the cut 🥲 1. The Thieves of Tortuga 2. Anchor Cove 3. Trading Post 4. Coconut Cape 5. Deep Sea Discovery
Thanks for showing all these great Pirate Sets. I didn't had them on my screen, but now I will browse Bricklink to see, what are great sets are there, for which I can vote. I hope, that a few of them will be recognized by Lego, the designers definitely deserve that. Keep up the great work. Greetings from Vienna Austria
Kraken attack is a great idea easy to implement. Has plenty of playability, but ONLY if you can fully build the ship standalone and play with it. Kids would love it.
