EMT's have had problems ever since the inception of the aero hump. The hump actually lifts the shoulder blades and lower neck up off the ground, thus making it possible for the helmet to move farther back than normal, possibly causing neck and or spinal injury. Also, when EMT's seek to stabilize a downed rider, they can't lay the rider flat to safely put him on a backboard with the hump jammed under the rider. They use scalpels and cut the humps off your suit. There was an article in the british motorcycle magazine Superbike or Fast Bikes a yr or so ago that discussed this. It basically said that unless you are Rossi, there is not enough of an aerodynamic advantage to bother having one installed on your suit. If I had read the article (which was written by a racetrack EMT). NO HUMP. My next one will have none.
