Thanks for that Stefan. I was unsure between the two but the choice seems one sided now. I did write to the manufacturer of the yellow machine asking for information and waited days for an answer that wasn't an answer lol so customer service turned me away anyway. thank you for a very detailed review I just hope they get scuba tector in stock somewhere soon 😆😆

The bad thing with the Scuba Tector is that it has a built-in battery, which means you can't bring extra batteries with you and swap them for longer searches, like you can do with the Vibra Tector. Also, the build in batteries tend to hold less and less charge over time, just like the ones on the smartphones.

Review The Cheapest try not to charge after its intended charging. It messes with the battery pack and will prolong this from happening.

No problem. I am glad it helped. Yes, this is part of the reason I have not uploaded in a long time, I have been too busy with work. These take hours if not days for editing and graphic works. I'll get back to them when I have more time.

Great comparison. I already own a Vibratector 730 and have had good success using it in pockets of sand and gravel in rocky areas which collect coins etc. and I reckon your figures are about bang on. It does seem to punch a bit deeper in a rock cavity filled with sand (possibly due to return signal being concentrated) but for use in the sand bed underwater you're bang on. Just ordered a Scuba Tector for my upcoming holidays so I'll use them both and see how they compare - I'm expecting great results after watching this. Although I wouldn't put much faith in air tests for FBS machines the air tests of single frequency / PI machines do seem to be near what hunting real world conditions would deliver so I've no problem seeing air tests for PI machines.

Very nice testing Stefan! I got mine a week and a half ago and am just waiting for the surf to calm down before giving it a try. I was impressed with the build quality and the features. It's gonna work great I believe. Thanks for taking the time to give the comparison.

A very thorough comparison and very scientific. The presentation is impeccable! When I start getting into water hunts, I'll have to go the route of the deteknix. That depth is awesome for a hand held! The fact it's a PI would be a boon for hunting nuggets in rivers. Good job sir! I love the color coordination with the highlighters too!

Great test. I like to see a neat, orderly presentation. Obviously the Scuba-Tector was the better of the two, but neither of them particularly impress me, considering the kind of range I'm getting out of machines like the Whites Bullseye TRX and Teknetics Tek-Point. I think if you give Carl Moreland the kind of surface area these two machines have to work with he'd be able to get them to see the same objects at up to 6"+ on items like your V-nickel

What is "diver mode" and how is it different from standard or snorkeling mode? Thanks

Diving mode is supposed to be used from 8 meters plus. It basically just locks all the buttons so that the pressure doesn't inadvertently press them. Hope that helps!

I am pretty sure it is the coil design not the specs. The Scuba has a superior coil design so I do not see the 740 doing any better IMO.

Hi, No, sadly I have not tested on pure gold. The ring I tested was 96.6% gold and it picked that up pretty well.

Hi, yes it is a PI detector. I am not too sure on the performance of natural gold, but I'd imagine for its size it should be the best available. It is priced right to be in the market.

Stefan Burford thanks, I'm still trying to find more info about it before I buy it... Also checked in many reviews on the web and video on RU-vid that it won't catch gold chains... Sorry for so many question but I'm not a guy that can spend 180 USD on a metal detector before I know at least I can pay it back... I work hard for the money 😅 thanks again

It was at Maximum for the Scuba as the Vibra does not have levels.

hello . i used my vibra tector for 2 years now . its perfect in all aspects as i found 5 gold rings but one days it has failed to start . i ordered another one but it was not that good as the previous one and the bettery thing has broke so the water leaked in again and i had to change the wires wich was a nightmare . i give up on it once i found out that fake once are out such as vibra iking 750 which was not mentioned on their web site . today i placed my order for the orange toy and lets see how will it go

Stefan I would have preferred to see the LED of the two detectors in operation during the test, instead of hearing the sound outside the field, the first one can not even see the led and in the second there is the light on that was not needed in the test and, so, not you see the led in operation. It would have been a more credible test if we had seen the two LEDs working during the surveys. When you do the comparison tests you have to be super part, because you spend money to buy them, and you must always be very clear otherwise it is better not to do them ..., we now witness tests that affirm completely different things from a component to ' other, and so it is not at all useful to do them, because they only serve to confuse the ideas to those who have to buy ... thank you.

Thanks for the review Stefan, it seems the scuba Tector is significantly better than the Vibra tector. I would definitely go for the scuba tector over the Vibra tector. I don't understand why it worked better on the 22k ring though, in my experience a 24k ring gives the highest signal at least with an Excalibur, almost higher than silver even.

Thanks buddy! I have no clue at all. Maybe the frequency? Maybe the way I was holding it? It is defiantly a solid 23k 1 Baht ring.
