@@floydb9100 Well at least those are from the same company. This is literally like Mercedes going to BMW. Rebadging a 1 Series and call it the new A-class
@@Astke well... speaking of BMW... they’ve sold the Z4 blueprints to Toyota and “voilà” here is the new Supra! Don’t be surprised, now in Europe we will have Stella tis that in a few years will sell basically the same car with 3 or 4 different brands! Welcome to the “cutting cost” era.

Hello again Thomas, thank you for another great review. I would like to show my expression of gratitude for the way you treat the cars: you never try to break or mistreat the cars in any way opposite to some other reviewers on RU-vid. Your style appeals at least to more grown-up viewers, I am sure of it. Stay healthy and safe.
@@JetNix in the South African and Asian markets there are a few Toyota badged Suzukis. The Toyota Starlet is a rebadged Suzuki Baleno. The Toyota Urban Cruiser is a rebadged Suzuki Vitara :-)
@@yissibiiyte ah, so not much then. That's why I say that it's so strange to see a RAV4 with a Suzuki badge. And looks like Across is not sold here. At least not yet. We have: Swift, Ignis, Vitara, Jimny. And Toyotas are: Aygo, Yaris, GR Yaris, Yaris Cross (not sold yet but will be), GR Supra, (Don't know if the new GR-86 is gonna be sold here, but we had the GT-86) Corolla hatchback, Corolla TS, Corolla sedan, Camry, Prius, Prius Plug-In, C-HR, RAV4, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Hilux, and the ProAce and ProAce City are indeed rebadged Citroёn Jumpy and Berlingo cars. The second one has it's own, much simpler design. So yeah, I don't see any Toyotas with other car's badges.Although if you want, you can count the collab projects like Toyota Aygo- Citroёn C1- Peugeot 108, Toyota GT-86- Subaru BR-Z, Toyota GR Supra- BMW Z4. The last two are too different in styling and even have different performance. X)
@@JetNix yeah I guess so. But I'm expecting to see many more badge engineered Toyota/Suzuki cars in the future now that they've got a deal between them.
The thing with the engine not shutting off after exiting the" hold charge" mode is simply because after staring up the engine it will not stop until a certain engine temperature has been reached. It happens on all other Toyota common hybrid powertrains.
This is a compliance car for emissions. But car is good. Set the car on eco and adaptive cc and it will do 100km on 4.5 litres all day long in hybrid mode on a motorway. Its easy to get 80 plus km 50 miles on a charge. Its possible to buy a pre registered versions for under £38,000 in uk taking some of the pain out of high purchase price.
Great review! I would go for a Toyota unless I would get a considerably better deal from Suzuki. It would be very useful if you could take the SUVs, in general, for some off-road test. Nothing hardcore, but go into a forest like you would at a camping site. Maybe find some hill with some loose gravel to check traction.
Hi Thomas! Are you planning to review the new Hyundai Tucson any time soon? Seems a very interesting option within the compact-suv class. I am very tempted to buy one and would help me to have your opinion prior. Many thanks and keep it up. Useful information from your side.
I tried to buy a RAV4 two years ago. I had such an awful experience with the dealer I ended up terminating the sale. I wouldn’t want it serviced by them either. I’ve still not found a car yet so this might open up a possibility of getting a RAV4 through a different dealer, but that price is so high. 🤔
I really hope they release these in Australia at some point, though we don't get any tax benefit or incentive at all... :( Between Suzuki and Toyota badge... I'd choose whichever one has the features I want and nothing more... probably Suzuki. :)
I was excited when I saw that this car was reviewed on this channel as I have been waiting for the RAV4 PHEV review. Now, I have it. Thanks. Unfortunatley, I don't see the Suzuki selling a lot of it as it is an almost 1:1 rebadged car that is even more expensive than the original. There is no incentive at all to get it over a RAV4 PHEV.
The front of the Suzuki is a little more beautiful than the Toyota. But the charging capabilities and the range of trim levels make the Toyota a better choice.
The 'serenity'.... 😂. I like it. Thorough as usual, thanks Thomas and team.👍 🇦🇺 Oh yes. The Toyota for me, solely on better charge option. Bit of a blunder by Suzuki there but maybe Toyota didn't allow...they (Toyota) wanted that issue as product differentiation. Who knows.🤔
What is different between Toyota and Suzuki options and packages and stander. Mileage with T and S on ev. and gasoline and total distance you could drive. English please. REPLY.
Sorry to break it to you Thomas.... but that's a Rav4.... I should know, I've been driving one for more than a year. They just put a different from grille ( Like a Need for Speed Unleashed bodykit ).. Might as well just review a Rav4 and then state the price Suzuki selling it for.
I would get the Suzuki instead of the Toyota as depreciation is going to be similar, same car, cheaper, better looking so you get more car while saving 2k but people will probably buy the Toyota instead
Yeah! It all started from India, here Toyota has two important Suzuki cars rebadge Suzuki Baleno and Vitara Brezza but still hasn't worked that much,I don't know how much it will work in Europe. It is just a high trim models in Europe for Suzuki from Toyota and low trim models in India for Toyota from Suzuki! that's the Deal..
Interesting review, Thomas. Thank you for keeping me updated on Suzuki. Yeah, it has been a long time since I heard from Suzuki. Honestly, I thought they had been axed or something. In my opinion, a nice design - inside and out. I think it kind-of look like a Toyota RAV 4, so I agree with you there. It makes sense why it does look like the RAV 4, of course, so no whinging from me. Important to know how this vehicle differs from the RAV 4. Fully dissecting it as usual would help, of course. That would be fun, but I don't have access to driving this...or even a RAV 4, so no full dissecting, lol. Interesting that it is over €50 000. Yeah, that is quite a lot of money, but I won't be like, “I wOuLd RaThEr BuY [insert something not at all in this segment or market]” like so many other people do. Are there better buys? That depends on the buyer, of course. Personally, I may go with the RAV 4, mainly due to Toyota being more established than Suzuki, at least where I live. It is easier for me to find a Toyota dealership, so it would be a little bit of a stretch for me to search longer to buy a vehicle that is similar to a vehicle Toyota sells with better access. The Toyota RAV 4 may be a better buy for me simply because it is more accessible. But I don't know how they drive, so maybe not. Interesting what said about how it drives. The charging speed does make me a bit sad. No racing in the city. Yes, sir. I "promise." 😂 Cute how you crossed paths into a RAV 4 during this review. Spooky. Also, your reaction to the Suzuki's speed. 😂 Cheers. 👍
a RAV4 will just drive like this one, because it's just a toyota at the end of the day .. well i prefer Toyota's badge .. No racing .. No racing .. i say that every day when i start driving .. to keep it in mind ! But you always meet someone who challenges you .. it could end with tickets sometimes .. but yea .. still good moments :D
@@wgemini4422 the plug in? This is the top spec. In Europe the base RAV4 is like 27,000€ but in Germany cars are more expensive because Germans are wealthy.
@@dragospahontu Yeah, the plugin, but the base trim. Fabric seat, 8 inch screen, no power tail gate, manual passenger seat but with 6.6kw charger for some reason. Starts at $45K CAD (about 30K euro) plus taxes and fees. The similarly priced ($38K USD) US version has power gate, but 3.3kw charger.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. As a start, please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nP_CvLlaFlI.html In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse? The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination. For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
@@hedgehogthesonic3181 if you take care of it, it can last for a long time. Animals are killed anyway for consumption, so why not use their skin for products?
If I want to buy a Toyota, I’ll buy a Toyota - not Frankenstein´s silly-name-version of it. - What about Toyota helping Suzuki to equip the Jimny with a hybrid drive train? - THAT would give Suzuki a presence by making the bestseller available again in Europe.
Nahhhh, the Jimmy is all about reliability, i don't want a battery in it. Plus they are going to sell it as a commercial vehicle. This car is good, but I wouldn't pay more than 30,000€ for it
