All News and Big Things From PaizoCon 2024 for Pathfinder 2e and Starfinder 2e 

Hey, head's up! Two things: 1) The SF2E Playtest Rulebook will have 2 versatile heritages in it. There's the Borai (a type of undead creature with a sliver of their souls still with them), and the Prismeni (similar to the Geniekin or Nephilim, but for the Drift). The comment from Thurston was in terms of re-printing the Mixed Ancestry versatile heritage from Player Core into the SF2E rulebook. So that one, it won't be in the playtest. 2) The term "adventure path" is only for adventures that span across multiple monthly releases of books, like "Strength of Thousands" or "Age of Ashes". The adventures coming out during the SF2E playtest are either standalone adventures, or shorter scenarios.

Thurston Hillman has stated that the printed Starfinder playtest book coming out at GenCon will only be available in Softcover, not Hardcover.

Im HYPED for Starfinder 2e. Sooooo many options and opportunities to play out.

We need a Remaster of all of the classes. The most played class in all of my games I've run and played in has been the Magus. Summoner is such a cool concept, but the players I've had ask about it for player core 1 have expressed wanting to hold off on the class until a remaster for it. Dropping those classes from the remaster and not making a 3rd book is very Pathfinder 1e-esque.

As a Starfinder 1e player and GM I am not super keen on the 2e upcoming. Several reasons. The Soldier Playtest looked anemic and felt to niche. The primary issue comes with the limited amount of playable races/ancestries. The use of the Ancestry feats limits the number of ancestries in comparison to the plethora of Alien races that were available. Still cautiously optimistic

Player Core 3 doesn’t even make sense for an errata compilation even if it seemed like a reasonable product. Why is the Magus and guns and shit suddenly core?
