I’m flying out to Ho Chi Minh city this coming month and got really curious about how ANA/ Nippon operates and I’m so glad I found this video it helps with my up coming experience with this airline!!! I’m excited to finally see in person
there are only few airlines in this world that still appreciate their economy class passengers. ANA and JAL is one of few airlines that still provide good quality economy food. it seems ANA has proved it especially during covid era. anyway great trips reports and keep the good works ^_^ d
4:06-6:01 This is ANA's theme song, "Another Sky". It was also used as the boarding music for Air China. The music gives a sense of honor and hope for a brighter future. I am currently a senior in High School and I'm done with my college apps! Hope everything goes well and I can get into the school I want to go. Here's the link to the music: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZmP78PYh0AM.html
Great review! You covered all the key details like type and quality of food, the comfortable seats etc. Would be nice next time to see review of the entertainment options on board too. Thanks!
Hi, hope you enjoy your stay in Japan! I'll be honest with you, I don't have a lot that comes to mind... You might want to look at getting an Transportation IC card (Suica, Pasmo etc.), that saves you the hassle of having to buy train tickets every time, instead you just charge your card and the amount gets automatically deducted.
Last year i went to japan in the Jetstar airline and it was a very uncomfortable and distressing experience. I booked with ANA for this year and it looks nice
The meal quality and quantity on Japanese carriers (NH and JL) never fail to impress me. I have never flown JL, but was a regular on NH pre-covid. I love them. Always punctual, great food, great legroom in economy. Even during this pandemic, they did not seem to cut down on their meal quality...unlike Singapore Airlines.
I have only flown on JL domestically, but your experiences on NH match mine! I'm looking to try JL on an international flight at some point. Also, I've been saving up some miles, and I'm hoping to fly NH First, too. :D
7:35 - love the controller buttons. Just like a Super Famicom with the right labels and colours. I'm guessing that's a holdover from when Super NES/Super Famicom games were on flights. Or do they still have those games on them?
Another great ANA flight for you ! Please could I ask a question about the stirring music that was being played when you boarded ? Is it a Japanese farewell song (before a journey) ? I remember hearing it while waiting for another Star Alliance flight at Kansai. There was a small Japanese tour group in the ANA lounge waiting for the same flight. When boarding was announced, this music started playing.
It is ANA's own boarding music, as far as I am aware. The name of the song is "Another Sky", if you want to look it up. I don't think it's anything rooted in Japanese tradition or anything like that, though.
I have flown ANA a number of times to/from Japan. Each time I've found ANA's service -- including Economy -- to be excellent, from the staff on board to the food, etc., which reminds me of Japanese ever-present "omotenashi,". Interestingly, like your trip here, whenever I've flown ANA internationally there were a surprising number of empty seats. I suspect that it may have something to do with the fact that generally ANA fares are higher than competitors flying the same routes.
It think this is especially case on flights ex-Europe or ex-America, as there is no real feeder network there. (Sure, there are some people coming from Star Alliance connections, but I believe the numbers are pretty low). At least ex-Frankfurt, LH has a lot more connecting pax than NH. What I noticed though is that if you travel during the school vacation period, NH flights are usually pretty packed with (japanese) families with kids.
I’m flying with ANA on 2nd of November 2022 from Edmonton to Vancouver to Tokyo and from Tokyo to Delhi and return on November 26 from Delhi to Tokyo and Tokyo to Vancouver and from Vancouver to Edmonton… looking forward Insha Allah.
Thanks so much for the video. Do you remember if your seat recline at all? Is it comfortable for a long flight? I've been looking for info about economy seat recline on BA 787 but haven't seen any videos mentioned it.
The BA seat is reasonably comfortable, one thing to note is that is has "horns" to the left and right of the headrest, to keep your head in place when you sleep. The seat does recline, in fact I think every long-haul Economy class product does. I didn't really feel a difference in recline compared to other products. Just a note: If you are looking for information on the BA 787 Economy seat, you can also look at other long-haul BA aircraft (mostly 777s), since they use the same seats in most cases.
is really want to ride a 787, is my 3 favorite planes. Excellent video, the economy class is like a level of business class out there and some are not good XD. By the way, did I tell you in a video that I am new to the channel?
@@STRFlyer99 probably the window shades don't shake at its liking, but well( I don't remember if it has normal windows🤔) I find it quieter than the 350 in my opinion, and it proves you can breathe well in the back. I really don't matter what people say, is an awesome and comfortable machine.
Hi, I am about 172cm tall so yes, leg room is not a problem for me personally most of the time. ANA still does offer exceptional legroom in Economy class though!
Asian airlines is always much better than European one , so on this route ANA is clear winner Especially for tourist , we can get the taste and feel of Japan until we arrive in Europe
Recently I flew Singapore from LAX to SIN nonstop and the meals were about half the size. I just booked an ANA flight from NRT to LAX. Doubt I will ever fly with Singapore ever again. Also, on Singapore the do not serve drinks before meals. Singapore has become a cheap airline with small amounts of food and poor quality meals. ANA really looks great. Also, the “Singapore Girl” thing is a myth because they are not special. I was loyal to Singapore;or for more than 10 years and now I am switching to ANA. Thanks for the video.
I heard about them cutting down their service during Covid, but I still thought they were a cut above the rest. That's unfortunate. Glad to say things haven't chnaged much for ANA, hope it stays this way!
Hi! May I ask if ANA allows each passenger 1 carry-on luggage and 2 personal items into the cabin? At around 23:48, I saw a lady with her 1 orange carry-on luggage, 1 cream/orange backpack, and 1 pink totebag.
Hi, as far as I am aware, the rule is 1 carry-on and 1 personal item. I suppose it is not monitored as strictly as on some low-cost airlines, but she could also be carrying the bag of another person she travels with, so I can't really say anything about that.
do they serve free booze? there is no flight without massive booze. normally on long haul Y I take 5-6 booze drinks, plus massively already in lounge before boarding.
I am debating whether it would be worth paying more to fly in Premium Economy to get a more comfortable seat. My lower back sometimes get sore in a longer flight. Do you have an opinion?
You definitely have more space to move around, especially in terms of seat width, and I am thinking the extra recline might help as well. If you think those things might help you, then it might be worth it! ANA is generally a very accomodating airline, so even if in Economy, you might be able to ask for a pillow from Business class for example. I have never tried it myself though, so I can't vouch for that... If you book Economy class, you can upgrade to Premium Economy via a bidding system from 7 days before departure on most international routes. That might be a cheaper way to get into Premium Economy, if fares are expensive on your dates.
Ja, ich stimme zu: Fliegen ist eine der größten Freuden im Leben. Aber "billig“, sagen Sie - das bezweifle ich, es sei denn, Sie haben viel Geld übrig.
