Im currently in Garde 11, and Im watching how to do this again. I did learn this before, but it never stayed with me since I have study problems and problems with understanding maths, but seeing a visual representation and doing it while you are doing it, made me completely understand Trigonometry. Just before this video I watched how to fully understand Pythagoras theorem, and I could do that section of the video on my own without any strugle! Thank you sooooo much for all the videos you post and how you explain maths, I will always be grateful for it. May you have a lovely day and year furthermore😊😁

At 14:53 you used only half or the top of the orignial formula for cos . Usually its C(squared) = ( a squared) + (b squared) - (c squared ) / 2 x a x b . Can you explain why we can do it leaving off the bottom of the formula thanks

Ah you are mixing it with the Cosine Rule for an angle, where we are looking for cos C not just c^2 :-)

Hello! At the beginning of the video (5:56) Q7 part b), I used the Sine rule to calculate the length AC and got the same answer. Would I loose marks in the exam if I used that method because it isn't in the mark scheme? My working was something like this: 180 - (68+90) = 22 , hence, x/sin(22) = 30/sin(68). I then solved for X and got the same answer. (12.12)

The Cosine Rule relates the length of a side of a triangle to the cosine of an adjacent angle and the lengths of the other two sides. I chose C to be 60 degrees and c to be 9cm as these are the side and angle opposite, so need to be C and C in the formula. Hope that makes sense!

For the question 7(b) in 7:25, I used another method. I find the other angle first and then used the sine method to calculate the answer and still got 12.1m. Does it still count as 3 full marks or only 1 will be rewarded? Edit 1: So as question 11(a) in 17:09, I also used the similar method with the one I mentioned earlier. Do I still get rewarded with 2?

So I take out the right angle triangle I'm working with so it is easier to see which side is the hypotenuse - remember it is always opposite the right angle 😊

Pyhtagoras' Theorem would be used when we have 2 known sides, but in this case, we only know the length of AB and we know angle ACB, which is why we need to use trig!

Does 0607 trig math involve sinusoidal functions? I did a paper 6 where we required to know the general structure of y=Asin(bx)+c. I have never seen them ask questions of sinusoidal functions in paper 4 or paper 2 though.

As you've described, you should have a knowledge of transformation on functions and what the trig graphs look like - they would lead you through on a Paper 6 to construct a sinusoidal model 👍
