@@thegalacticmeowfilm1781 well theres a lot less katherine in the books, she is the villain in book three, and has been haunting damon, elena and stefan in the two first books, shes the same vamp age as defan, but is WAY more powerful then them. She makes stefan think hes sick,tortures defan and can influence them (kinda like compulsion but in the books stronger vamps can influence weaker vamps). Elena kills her. Katherine wasnt very much the mastermind, like she is portrayed in the show but super powerful. She could shapeshift into 3 animals.
