What I always liked about Billie Holiday, what she had a way of singing almost half a note slow...her backup musicians are very authentic sounding for the period ..

I've not actually seen this one before. And I'm feeling really upset about that. This is utter perfection. Tone, style, pronunciation, tempo, All absolutely bang on period. It's like a time machine brought her here straight from the forties. I've said it before and I'm going to say it again. She's the best Jazz and Blues singer Alive. She could be on stage with Louis Armstrong , Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday as an equal 🤯at 12.

Like I've said before. She cut her teeth on Billie Holliday; literally and figuratively! And Billie Holiday is my all time favorite, which is how I found Angelina, who I consider to be Billie`s successor.

Used to go to this club in mid 60s in Bermuda, it didn't open until 2am. After the clubs and hotel nightclubs closed, all the musians would come and play jazz, blues, it was just a jam until daylight. If Angelina's voice could have been heard then it would have silenced the crowd until she left. We're talking, Tom Jones, Whitney Houston, Temptations, Otis Redding, Lou Rawls, all just visiting and singing on the island thier jazz and blues. Angelina would have blew the house down on any night, with those musians backing her.
A show of raw talent, and feeling from basically a child. That's why it is in my top 90. That smile and giggle at the end alone is worth the video. Unexplainable. Thumbs up Hap.
This is just a fabulous performance. The backing track is straight out of the 1940s, really, it sounds like the old "wax" records, pre-vinyl, that we used to play on our parents' old wind-up Victrola! And Angelina's voice suits it so well.
Sometimes you just have to wonder who is this young woman came from. She’s from another time.. singing a Billie holiday song is not easy, but then again she hasn’t tackled anything that is easy. And she does it with perfection. She really plays in your heart as well as of course your ears. So young with so much soul. How does a 14-year-old girl even begin to understand the song she sings let alone interpret them the way she does. Thank you have another great reaction.
