You're right, it's not my usual taste in interior, but I DO see myself loving ut because it's vibrant but retains the homey, comfort touch that feels like someone lives in it & not just stereotypical "modern" all-whites that feels cold.
The sticky roller and the clothes shaver are the best friend of pet owners. "They sew not, neither do they spin"... (.but animals do scratch and shed !).
Might be possible, to diy something like that...but I don't know, how durable it would be. I really like the idea, though. Why is that not something, you can just easily buy? Damn.
I love seeing “renter-friendly” videos because I never gave af and will customize the entire apartment. Keep the deposit , I’m finna make this place a HOME while I’m here !
@@zanag.9226Yes. It's an LED strip. Since it's hidden, you COULD also do string Christmas lights, but those actually get a little warm after a while. I'm a collector, mainly comic books and figures, and that light trick makes bookshelves/displays pop a lot more.
Right! 😂 I mean, I guess you could apply the same idea using a cool looking but cheap one? 🤔 That said I don't understand how swapping the plumbing fixtures out, drilling right through the wall, or adopting a cat that claws stuff to the point of destruction are in any way "renter friendly" 😂. Also, those puck lights come with strong adhesive to put them up and they are very much not renter friendly! They'll take part of your wall with it if you remove it! Neither is the other adhesive she uses in a couple of the projects.
Just FYI there are many thrift stores and their like where I have gotten lights, furniture and faucets for a fraction of their original cost. I spent $30 on a faucet that is almost $200 new. Never underestimate the frugality of others and you can learn cool tricks instead of assumptions.
@@cleanslate9620 what a cool trick you taught me today I will take this into consideration and never comment on a public platform again without first thinking about how I might be offending another stranger by making a joke about the hypocrisy of the video, my bad dog
You serious? Like having to move your coffee table, take a ladder, take down the light, recharge it for hours, replace it, move the ladder, move the furniture back once every two days?
@@elisa6212they make lights that last a lot longer than that nowadays. Also it is better than having no lights and she can't hardwire lights because she is renting. It might not work for you but it works for her
My sister adopted a cat and it lined up the part your cat did too. It came with many pillows. I sacrificed one because it had the same fabric and color as the sofa. I used a curved hand sewing needle and made pockets for the remote controllers. The torn parts are covered and now we always know where the remotes are!
I fixed my denim couch. After trimming the stray fibers with scissors, I used a Felting Needle to poke them back in, and it literally looks and feels good as new! So easy! :)
I'm in senior housing and can't paint walls, but I stapled a deep red damask tablecloth from France. On one wall. Switched rooms. Now the bedroom is my media and library, and the living room is my larger bedroom now. Much more practical
Sticking everything to the wall is great and I'm sure, renter friendly, BUT it would fall off the wall 5 mins later due to the weight of the object over time, including the weight of heavy material.
i threaten any landlord w/ court when they dont. only 1 actually got to the point of me sending actual lawsuit documentation. they dont wanna pay for lawyers either lmao
Take photos before you move in and after you move out. If you can show that everything is in good condition, they are legally obligated to return your deposit.
@@kittycat1302 Straight up. your comment should be taught in schools. I use to clean out apartments for my landlord. I knew EXACTLY what he was looking for. His wife was in love with my couch so I sold it to the landlords wife. I replaced, primed and painted. Steam cleaned and left that place better than any of the apartment I cleaned. Got dinged with an extra months rent and they took my deposit because I had "furniture left over" you mean the couch I sold your wife and left there so you can pick it up? as per our texts? Took him to court. Turns out the lease said 'no pets' which is illegal, so the lease was void. He had to pay me back 2 years of rent. Still never got my deposit tho.
Other than hooks on the walls, which are typically allowed in rental properties, nothing she did changed anything but her own furniture. There's almost no reason for a landlord to take issue with anything in this video.
@@jotarokujo3603 She drilled into walls, she added the sticky gold hooks, the canopy is held up by something, the chandelier light thing, the strip light is attached to the wall by something, & she changed the faucet. My landlord didn't allow anything to be put on the walls or ceiling, she had put it in the lease agreement, no hooks or stick on products of any kind. I was threatened with being evicted over putting in a water saving shower head, so had to put the old 1 back up. It wasn't a pricey shower head, just the basic kind that's found in the hardware store.
Felting needles will fix up any kitty claw pulls too. It's super easy and tucks it all back in. Also, good on you saying get rid of the furniture, not the cat 😆💚
Cats will often scratch your favorite chair because it smells the most like you. They are trying to combine both of your scents for marking. So while it seems fracturing to us, to them, it's letting everyone else know that this whole place is for you two. Place a short scratching post right beside the chair arm to give her something appropriate to scratch while still being able to combine your smells.
We can't even hang anything on our walls let alone drilling holes everywhere. That's not renter friendly. For me I use 3M strips and they come off with ease ,we place things on the walls and take them off for every inspection 😂
I wish I’d seen the tape hack a few days ago myself before I struggled to hang several pictures in my kitchen. I had to use white toothpaste to fill in multiple holes I made because I wasn’t happy with how straight the pictures were.
You are amazing!! You should have your own show!! I find that you are a true designer and I love that you do everything on a budget and it doesn't wreck the home!! I think you're very talented!!
@@katebalzer2349she had a sponsor that dropped her because she publicly went after a budding artist claiming they stole her ideas, that she stole herself. Highly doubt she'll get a show with that attitude. And her bipolar disorder isn't a good excuse
I use straight pins to hang pics and smaller prints. Pins hold a decent amount of weight and the hole it leaves is so tiny that takes very little to no spackle to fill.
Heck, these are even great things for a homeowner. I love all the things that you've done! I will probably do some of these myself in the place I am moving to.
pro tip: Get a flat correguated-cardboard cat scratching post, to lay on the floor. as long as the cats know where it is, they'll leave your couches alone! I have one for 3 cats who used to do nothing BUT destroy furniture, now I have one and it lasts the three of them about 4 maybe five weeks :))
Gotta make sure your cat is a horizontal scratcher first. Wouldn’t have worked for mine. She won’t even look at floor scratchers. But she’ll scratch the crap out of vertical posts, so we keep those near the couches instead. Still works like a charm.
Our cats scratching post is always in the same place (near the couch in the living room) he uses it everyday, multiple times a day.But he also likes to scratch on the couch. Having it where he can get to it AND it is his favorite one doesn't always mean they will NOT scratch on the furniture.
We have scratching posts and mats and trees etc everywhere and sometimes they still want the couch or chairs so no this isn’t a fool proof way. If you have cats you just have to accept the fact that it’s probably going to happen at some point.
There are also repellant sprays and other such items to deter them from specific places/things if they're still going to them despite the cardboard and posts.
I think it's awesome that you go renter friendly with your stuff, still with that many things needing to be changed to move out someday, is it really renter friendly?..😅
"renter friendly" But you need to know that you are going to move at least 1 year in advance to have time to repaint everything and return everything to its original condition xD
For some people living in a beautiful space is very important. Having to get rid of these things one far far far away day doesn’t really matter. Most people live in a space for years. It would take probably one day to fix all of this back. And when she says renter friendly she’s obviously not talking about the painted walls. Changing faucets though takes ten minutes tops. Filling holes, also ten minutes.
Yeah all this is going to take ages to repaint. It's one thing to decorate your rented space to make it feel more like your own, but this is going to the extremes, to the point where it's financially foolish. Who would have the time or money to repaint all this? It's going to be a nightmare if she decides to move. @@baridakara
I’m a carpenter and it doesn’t make any sense because she is still using a level. Just use a level and a pencil and it’s literally the same exact thing. Literally no difference whatsoever except that you are more likely to mess up with the tape because it doesn’t pull perfectly straight. Lol

How did you do that canopy over your bed? ❤ it! Just moved and I am in the process of putting my bedroom together and would love to do that canopy but need to know how!??
It looks great but what happens when you move? I imagine you wanna take all the stuff you added yeah? Do you keep the original fixtures & things stored somewhere? You did a fantastic job making that space your own.
Landlord here… Love all of these! My residents aren’t allowed to touch plumbing. Changing out faucets can cause leaks! 😬 But if my resident really wants it, I would install for them to be sure it’s proper. We installed and uninstalled a nest thermostat for a recent resident who wanted it. Took 15 minutes of my time on each end, but made my resident happy for 12 months! (And I could be sure the settings were best for my HVAC.)
I changed out a shower head in an apartment (I didn’t think to ask them to do it for me) and it made such a difference. I changed it back when we moved out. I’m glad you will work with your residents like that :)
@@eiPderFshower head is much different than changing out the bathroom faucet. There's almost no risk of behind the wall leaking with just a showerhead
The difference between you and other home decorators is, you don’t even have to try. I just think it’s amazing how you bring all the colors and vibes to each room together!! I’m nowhere near a professional as you but I’m learning so much!!!
Bro just stop spending hate it's not worth it if you seriously need to post hate then think about why your doing it because 9 times out of 10 it's just because you're feeling negative I hope you have a nice day and be kind to others
You know when we used to play Talking Tom and we used to decorate his house and all.. and we would try to decorate it as good as we can.. your home looks like one of them.. it's sooo cool😂❤️💖
As a property manager I can tell you some of these changes/additions would be a breach of your lease. Do NOT change ANY plumbing or electrical fixtures without first consulting your landlord! And then get approval in WRITING!
My lease says the tenants are not allowed to change their own fixtures. Now, apparently this woman knows what she’s doing but many tenants do not… I have had tenants create thousands of dollars worth of damage because they attempted to change a faucet on their own, which ended up leaking into the apartment below and causing thousands of dollars worth of damage… I don’t recommend just anybody do this is my point.
I don’t care how experienced the tenant is.. we don’t allow them to change anything.. it’s just bad business! Eventually, the tenant will claim that something “had to be changed… Their opinion of what the value of their work/materials is, is never going to match the opinion of the owner, it’s just a mess waiting to happen. If I see the tenant has changed anything in an apartment during their tendency, we have a serious problem! I make it very clear at the lease signing that absolutely NO changes are allowed!
Sometimes they still just destroy furniture, I have 2 6ft cat towers, an entire room with cat toys and other scratching posts and other scratching posts scattered around the house and my cat still scratches furniture. Before you ask, they are different textures and I play with her daily 🤷♀️
I'm not sure how strict your landlord is but even in subsidized housing, they told us nail/screw holes are fine, it's an easy patch job. To make it renter friendly though, try using the command hook strips or nano tape to hang things!! I've hung just about all my wall decorations with nano tape, besides what definitely needed nails, and it rocks. That little drip deco would definitely be fine with some nano tape holding it up.
Always read your lease and discuss it with your landlord. Screw holes or nail holes are usually an easy fix and aren't against the rules set in the lease you sign. Since you can easily change the sink faucet and knobs back it's still considered ok because no damage occured and the original pieces are still on hand to make the swap again. Any renovations that are completely reversible and damage free fall under the category of "renter friendly". Just because you don't own it doesn't mean you can't put your spin on it while you're there as long as it isn't permanent or causing harm.
