I’ve been into music for awhile now but barely started to make my own in a daw but it’s hard making a beat from scratch. Sampling still takes skill but it’s way easier so I haven’t done it. I have a few songs in mind already but I’d rather learn the fundamentals. I don’t know anything about who produces her music or if she does but you can still clearly hear the sample especially on the last one. Like young gravy’s songs are the exact same situation but I personally wouldn’t play his songs because it’s not what I like. This isn’t news to be honest. This will keep happening lol
It's so nostalgic for me. I'm from England and was born 2003, but my family were really big into that scene/making that style of music. It's really wonderful to see people my age appreciate it :)
Literally her songs are soo good and can literally change my mood no matter what but it’s the fact that her concerts will literally be like 20 mins long 😭
The song she sampled for pain is also already a sample of another song gymnopedie no.1 so it’s a sample of a sample that’s also a sample 😂😂 moral of the story she’s amazing

@@petalchild I love that for her ! Yeah I know Pantheress has produced her early stuff but the newer stuff is amazing too I think it’s a collaborative effort. As I say she deffo has great musicality.
@@GreggEddwards she does, but only some songs. On her Mixtape she was the sole producer on Pain and Last Valentines, and was co-producer on I Must Apologise, Noticed I Cried, Reason and Break It Off.
Its moments like these that I really appreciate tiktok for making someone's song go viral. I love her sound. I've been waiting for another fire artist with their own distinctive sound to come and jump right into my playlist.
uk garage was so big in the 2000s and i love how she's so inspired by it and samples our tracks it's great to see her revive the genre for more younger listeners

Break it off was the least creative, but the rest are so modified and remastered that they're almost unrecognizable from the original. Absolute sampling genius.
What is people'sproblem with "sample snitching" I personally find it very interesting to find out about what samples were used. It doesn't ruin the music or anything or make it less popular
it can get a bit messy if the creators of the sample decide to threaten a lawsuit. I think if the sample is used in a transformative way, then they shouldn't really have a problem with it
If anything i think you have an inherent right if you have dignity as an artist that if you use someone else’s song as a sample for yours you should credit the original song/artist.

I don’t consider this artistic expression personally, i see this as flat out stealing someone elses work and warping it into “your own”. If you can’t come up with your own beat or style, you don’t deserve to be an artist. Period.
Uh dude lots and lots of artists sample beats and there's nothing wrong with that also sampling isnt stealing if you ask permission (which she obviously did) only kinda considered stealing if you use the beat without permission and it could get you into trouble as well.

How are the geniuses??? All the did was loop a section a put it in a different pitch. A great sample would be loyalty by Kendrick. That was sampled from 24k Magic by Bruno Mars. This shit here is basic af

Since we are talking about samples check out phonk, a whole genre that is based all around samples mainly 90s Memphis rap samples. ( also my personal favorite genre)
I like her style. She reminds me of Hannah Diamond, Kero Kero Bonito etc with a Modern S Club 7ish/Dido a e s t h e t i c . Circles (which samples Bob James - Winchester Lady) was a banger in 90's UK DnB. Her being from raised in that time/place shows in her music.

Favorite 3 songs of hers I like (because I couldn't decide on just 1) Nineteen but I'm far from 19 I'm in my mid 20's now and the covid era has taken so much from me I barely feel like an adult. 2nd favorite would be Break it off mainly because of the background music, and 3rd favorite is Last Valentines it's a new fave

Her Circles and Flowers remixes stay in my rotation. I mean you can think what you want about SFA, and some of us harder Garage heads may have lamented it’s popularity at the time, but you can’t deny it had a huge impact, and her take on it is sublime. As for Adam F - you can never stop introducing him to new generations, and she did good here too. She has an old soul circa London late 90s - early 2000s, which is quite an achievement considering she’d just been born. Nice to hear the nods back to that time
