Bob's pronunciation of Alucard as "all-you-card" struck me as very strange. I pondered why he would do that, and then it occurred to me it's actually kind of weird that we all pronounce Dracula as "drac-you-la". I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep tonight.
Sky has been an incredible experience for me, I first played it before it's release on the switch and to play this game on a flat-screen hdmi monitor is just an incredible experience. The ending is emotional, the graphics are so Impressive for the switch, and there is tons of daily missions and content, a lot has been updated since I played it 2 years ago and it's been a trip down memory lane. (If you didn't care to read that, basically Sky is an open world social game where you level up your wing, the more you level it up by collecting wing pieces the more flaps you get for your wings. You can also prestige your level progress at the end of the game for premium currency that can be used to purchase special items, cosmetics, abilities with friends, and powers
Pokemon Unite recently got some updates with the Mobile release. One of the things added were tokens that you can use to upgrade 3 of your items to max level instantly. Since there's just like 4-5 you want to use anyways, just pick which you use the most and you're actually good to go. The game isn't really p2w anymore at this point and actually fun at that
"...if you can get a crew of people..." "...it's at least worth a session with your friends..." "...so check this one out with some friends..." Bob. I don't have friends.
@@alexanderisrael2715 I'd love that. I actually am getting a switch later today around 4-5 and it's 12:22. Would it be alright to play with you in around 4 hours.
I love Warframe but the story and progression becomes such a mess after you begin the game and start playing into it. They keep remaking the intro tutorial and it keeps being amazing. But they have such a problem of just dumping you in the game and just slamming screens and dialogue at you. To the point where you finish the first curated quest and you sit there lost. At that point if you aint already end game you're basically googling every step of the game on what to do next.
I am so glad you are enjoying Sky! I have been really enjoying it with my friends once it was available on the Switch. More people need to know about it.
I tried Sky, and I loved the bits where you're adventuring, but man, they push those microtransactions hard. I'd rather just pay like $20 for the game and not have to deal with that. It really soured me away personally.
Besides cosmetics being offered I don't really see how you're being pressured into buying them. There's the $10 season pass or you could split a $20 pass between 3 people so you could spend like $6-7 each instead? But even without the pass you still get access to the seasonal activities
Thank you so much for talking about Sky: Children of the Light! More people need to know about this great game! I love playing it with my friends. I loved Journey back on the PS3 and this is just like it.
I will say, I watched Bob talk about Asphalt 9 in his original video, downloaded the game immediately, and it was so much fun. Definitely a must get for the switch! Also, Rocket league will never not be fun.
Knockout City is really fun. It feels a lot more rewarding than Rocket League once you get a grasp on it. Esp when you're the only good player on your team. Rocket League can be a drag with slow, boring matches esp if your team is trash and you lose.
No, it's the burbles that he's made at. It's because it's a high octane engine that runs extremely rich on decel which creates tons of mini explosions in the exhaust
I played Sky for a year and a half now. It's hard to not play with other players with this game trust me. Also you catch feelings here. You've been warned.
Few Tips for new Apex Legends players! -If you want to play in switch only lobbies, you must disable cross platform play in game settings! -If you want to actually get in a match with switch only lobbies you must change your server to any of the Tokyo servers. This is done at the start screen before you get to the lobby. You can choose your server by clicking in the right joystick.
@@EvenFlow391 it’s a little bit of a hassle but the server change has to be done every time you boot up the game. However once you have a good bit of practice and are ready to try out cross platform I’d say go for it and no more hassle.
If the RU-vid thing ever stops being successful (I hope you make this show forever, to be clear!!) Bob could have a great career in marketing/digital ad creation. I look forward to his ads since they're so high quality
Burnout revenge was my all time favorite version. I miss them. I had the free year of switch online and played it 5 times. Now I don't have any more trials and I don't wanna pay for it.
Free until your memory gets filled and you have to spend 25$+ for a memory card depending on the size of the games. Buying switch games gets expensive, but it’s bringing me a lot of nostalgia being able to play some remakes/current Nintendo switch games on the OLED. Nice big screen, only thing is the low battery life, which is expected.
Besides nfs hot pursuit 2 I've never been a car racing guy but gotta admit if your trying to test out the 120 frames at 4k with racing games you definitely feel and notice it, makes them feel much better
Maybe another good video idea would be online multiplayer games that don't require a subscription. Those are the games in this video that caught my attention.
I downloaded Asphalt 9 like a year or two ago but then really got into it about 6 months ago. Now I'm at almost 200 hours simply because I play a little bit each day with all the daily activities. You're right, there's so much to do. I did also get Burnout Paradise on sale but only played it for about an hour; I'm just not sure where to go or what to do. Asphalt 9 feels more like those classic Burnout games and it's so satisfying to go off a jump and crash land on another car (or spin off a jump and knock one out in the air).
Thing about Burnout Paradise is that you can go do any event you want. Or you can just do the collectibles instead. It's open exploration. I also love how you have to pay attention during a race, so you know where to go. in most racing games, you only need to pay attention to mastering the track, nothing else. (But I also love classic Burnout)
Pretty handy video! I was pondering whether or not I should get a Switch this month knowing I wouldn't be able to afford games with it right away or not, definitely helping me figuring out
What a coincidence, i just played asphalt 9 legends for 2 week straight. I do have to say, in the middle of the season 2 i definetely hit the paywall (and i never pay for stuff like that, i hate it (its fine though, i know its f2p)). So just as a note for everyone who tryna play this game fully free. I just didnt have enough blueprints to use the cars that you have to use and at some point, there wasnt a single event, where i was eligible to play. I either was completely underlevelled, or i didnt have the car. Had no luck with the card packets to get the cars i needed to proceed with the given ingame currency and now i got no ingame currency anymore. So I either pay with real money. Or i just play the stupid daily challenge everyday to get the cardspacket and hope i get lucky to get the car i need. This is no rant, just as an information for everyone. (this was not the case with asphalt 7 for example, i rly rly got very far in this game with no money at all, so kinda sad tbh)
Aye Wulff.. Great video as ALWAYS!! I know this ain't my place but I think this kind of video would make a great New Years video OR a mad Pre-Christmas video just cause people are probably spending heaps of cash partying and what-not. Either way. Awesome video. Peace out!!
Well, I just bought a Switch, bought some games like Zelda and The Witcher, but I just keep coming back to Bomberman R Online. It's so straightforward and pickup and play that I can't avoid, play 20 minutes and then go to my usual business. It's great.
Brawlhalla is an amazing free to play platform fighter. Love it, full cross play, they have cross over character from other franchises and just a great time
I really hate when people call tetris 99 and all the other apps "free-to-play" they are not really F2P... you need Nintendo Switch Online to play them, therefor not F2P, neither knockout city could be consider F2P because of the restriction of: after "X" level you need to pay for the game, the ones that are truly F2P for example is apex where you don't need anything.
Hey, Bob! Most of these games were multiplayer games. Any chance you can do a list of top 10 games for people who just like to play BY themselves? Thanks!
Sky:Children of the light is such a breathtaking game ❤️ The community isn't toxic and I swear I once wanted to write "darkness"on a boat(which is something on the game that you can use to write messages for everyone on the server to see(it is online but does not require ns online))and the game would always cancel it-so the developers are really careful with the community ❤️ *ALSO* it's free for Android and iPhone It is laggy bc it is recent on the switch but since it's switch launch I noticed it has gotten WAY better Btw most boat messages tell you to have a great day/life and to always b positive. And it has themed seasons:the last one was the little prince and now it is the wind season.
I've been meaning to avail the Switch Lite recently using my hard-earned yet so tight budget, soo I probably will absorb those games as I save up for an actual game 😪
Pokémon Unite is a big recommend for me, it’s mobile release just came out and it’s actually really fun and entertaining to have a Pokémon spin on the moba genre. I’d recommend some give it a try, very fun!
I quit Pokémon Unite because the game kept putting me up against pay players who already had the best gear fully maxed out. I decided to leave before I got addicted to the game especially since I refused to pay money.
@@ZagaStudios I'll be honest with y'all, the game does have a pay to win aspect, but you don't HAVE to pay to win, it's tough, but I can proudly say myself that I've made it all the way to master rank without paying a single dime for any items that give me an advantage in the game (have payed for skins doe, gotta support the game) and I'll say this, it's rough, but once you enter ranked the problem really decreases quite a lot as you slowly scale and develop your items just using the currency you got from playing. Yes there is pay you win, but you don't HAVE TO pay TO win.
@@srclapple7556 that really depends on how good you are at the game too, though. When people say it’s shitty that a game is pay to win, it’s because people need to be really good or really rich to be “satisfied” with the game, there’s no space in between that.
@@NeroVingian40 it is sorta part of every game though, you gotta git gud, but yes, the pay to win does make it a little harder (only very slightly as even at lvl 30, they don’t make much difference compared to lvl 20, to which is very achievable not using money). I also see a lot of people excusing their loses due to ‘pay to win’ or ‘items are better than mine’ which I think could be true, but a lot of the time it’s just a problem of, simply, git gud, but yeah, p2w does make it harder sometimes to enjoy the game fully.
Some of the free games are pretty good, but other ones are dead or abandoned (arena of valor) I really been concidering selling my switch cause of lack of "good" games. Even the ones you pay to play online are dead, Kirby fighters, dragon marked for death, sky forge. I kind of expected more REAL epic games from switch but switch is mostly chop full of 2d retro games...This video very was really helpful! Thank you
Dude, the hell are you talking about. Tons of meaty triple-A games on Switch. It's just the software library is so dense now that you have to really dig through. The ones you mentioned are the absolute bottom-of-the-barrel level garbage. Go get some real games and have fun.
Hehehe I already got Sky: Children of the Light but haven’t played it yet 😅 I got it on a whim. Now after seeing it on your video makes me want to try it
Actually, most of these "free games" require you to pay for Nintendo online service, so they're not really free. One game that doesn't require you to pay for online service when you play seasons is Diablo 3 but that is a $60 game!🤑🤑🤑‼️
I've been playing sky for a year now, yes I have spent real money on the game but I've stopped that now, they've had as much out of me as any top game which is enough. On the switch they really need to either add headphones microphone chat like in fortnight or at the very least fix the keyboard chat feature because it's a nightmare and the people who beta tested it should have picked it up because the main thing with sky is the social aspect.
wow, this video was only made for the sole purpose of advertising Asphalt 9 huh? Even at the end of the sponsor segment he was advertising the Xbox version of the game and not even the switch version.
when switch first came out and not many games it has, after beating mario odyssey, i was playing pokemon quest for a good few months. i had lot of fun with that free game!
Absolutely the best game on switch is Warframe. Not just best free game, best game on the switch. A very fun action-based MMORPG with great story, cinematic quests, progression, combat, crafting/modding system and soon will be cross save/play with all consoles, pc and a new mobile version. The switch version controls better than its other console counterparts because of the joycon aim and the game runs and looks very good compared to most other games on the console.
TBH i've played Asphalt 9 since the first time i've got my switch till now.. well, they still update that game (even thou there is Asphalt 10 already out there) still lots of events, many bunch of new cars, additional tracks.. hope there will be lots of update, new car, new track in the future too, but i hope they will make it easier to gain some bucks for update the car.. now its become too hard to collect those bucks since the higher car's rate, the more it cost to upgrade (and all my un-upgrade cars is A or S rate which is expensive)
I wish you put the list in the description or something. I'm not going to be able to remember the whole list by the time I can actually get to my Switch, whereas I can just copy/paste the text list to myself for later, compared to having to manually stop and restart the video to do it myself.
