firing her? I haven't heard of any studio that would do that, I've seen shows substitute in another actress for a season or if the actress chose to retire completely then more permanent substitute. or write in the plot to explain her absence for a period. No studio would want to face the wrath of the fans if they found out one of their favourite actor or show character is written out and fired because of pregnancy.

@@penitent2401 it's what seemed have happened to Charisma Carpenter on Angel. Both she and her character got pregnant and then she disappeared. She's made comments since that make it sound like she was fired for being pregnant. The audience may not have known at the time but it caused a huge uproar in 2020

@@penitent2401 That's what happened in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Also, the Disney Channel sitcom Zoey 101 reportedly got cancelled because the teen star got pregnant. They've since said that's not true, but the timeline is super suspicious, and all the planned specials after the show wrapped up production got mysteriously cancelled.

In wedding she wasn't that obviously pregnant i think they could've gotten away with it even without the bouquet. The scene where she "pretends" to be pregnant is funny and creative you could see how careful Jake was with her belly while Amy just manhandles like it's nothing

I don’t think the bouquet was actually meant to hide her stomach, brides just usually hold a bouquet when they’re getting married. She’s often holding the bouquet in ways that very clearly show her stomach so it doesn’t seem like she was trying to hide it.

Fun fact about Stephanie Beatriz's pregnacy: She was also pregnant during the making of 'Encanto' but since it was animated, it was safer if everyone just recorded from their homes covid-wise. Stephanie actually went into labour during recording 'Waiting on a Miracle' but didn't want to cause a fuss so powered through. Later everyone was amazed at how she managed to portray so much pain in the characters voice

Two different pregnancies actually, the first one ended with the undercover as pregnant and the getting on a plane, the second was just making the character pregnant and following that storyline

In the one where she was supposed to be fakely pregnant to go undercover in prison you can tell its her real baby belly by the way they all wiggle it so gently whenever they do, like, Andy moved the shirt around rather than the belly but made it look as if he was grabbing and shaking the "fake" belly

Yeah i was watching "bones" a few weeks ago and you can def tell that the protagonist got pregnant lol they were nice enough to rewrite some stuff instead of firing/replacing her and one of the recurrent characters too. The series per se left me not satisfied but at least irl they had consideration for human beings and treated people right so i kinda kept watching it cause i liked this more than the actual tv show lol

One of my favorites is in Star Trek: Deep Space 9, when the actress for Kira Naris (a military Major) got pregnant. Rather than try to hide it or have the character get pregnant, they instead had a completely _different_ character, Keiko (who was married and already had a child in the show), get pregnant, and then used Space Science Shenanigans to swap the baby from Keiko to Kira, who then carried the baby to term because Space Science Reasons. I love television.

They did a great job of masking it. tbh, except for the fake pregancy in prison and Amy's pregnancy with Mac, I really couldnt tell the other ones. I love this show and rewatch it constantly, but they concealed it well.

Love the video, the lil bonus with hiding Stephanie's bump was so good too. I'm not totally sure why the S5 finale's in here though as Melissa wan't pregnant at that point (it was only S3 and S7 that she was pregnant for, as far as I know.)

Fun facts bcs I’m obsessed with the show: In the s3 episodes in the jail they wrapped up weeks before she gave birth so she was literally 8 MONTHS!! In s7, the last episode was filmed in November of 2019 so she was 6 months and Melissa confirmed they used a padded belly to make her look 9 months not 6 😂 Also in the last episode of B99 in June of 2021, Stephanie was 7 months pregnant with Rosaline!!

Missing moments I can recollect at the moment: - during Rosa's bachelorette party, if you pay attention, you'll see she's always behind something hiding her belly; - before the prison mission, when at first they assign it to Rosa. There are other several moments I noticed while watching B99, but I can't remember them exactly right now 😅 Actually, she was not pregnant during the wedding scene.

Turns out that keeping it a little visible is actually a great way to hide it. It's easy to see when you look for it, but otherwise, it's extremely subtle. They did a great job.

I do have to say that I prefer the even slightly awkward hiding of pregnancies over forcing babies into tv series where they don't fit. (not meaning B99 here). Extra minus points for every show that has something "supernatural" going on and where the pregnancy could have been written as something other than a normal pregnancy. If your storyline does not support having a toddler around (because the baby will be a toddle in a moment) and a baby is not needed for some huge plot reason, just people gave a ghost baby or something, instead of having to age-up, get rid, kidnap or otherwise do something random to the baby.
