@@shipstuff1519 I’m still going to refer to it as whistles as a horn is normaly compressed air going out of a shaped nozzle a whistle is normaly steam being used to make sound going through shaped chambers (titanic has a 5” a 10” and a 15” chamber on each whistle assembly but I say normaly as on queen Mary it has shaped nozzles although it used steam not compressed air
Fun fact: titanic has whistles on all funnels which were the largest and loudest at the time but the 3rd whistle and the whistle on the vent funnel were fake
Keep in mind that the Titanic whistle was being blown on air for fear of damaging it after being underwater for so long. There is some audio from the 1930’s of a video of Olympic that has the sounds of the harbour as Olympic arrives in New York.
