@@TurtleChad1 It’s dumb, but I’ll have to raise the rating to 7.5/10 for the extreme repeatability of the bombings. I still hate having to watch a bunch of teenagers be dumb for a story. Pretty fucking good bombings tho, ma gahwd.

The biggest disappointment for me was there was no Eun-ji (bullied girl) and Gwi Nam (the bully) face-off. I was expecting them to kill each other because I want Eun Ji to get her revenge now that she has the strength to fight back. Such a waste of character development.
she was in the quarantined area and killed her other friend from the rooftop. That wouldve been amazing to see but i think the fight was focused on Gwi Nam and chan young. Gwi Nam's only goal was to kill him which made the plot of the fight more intense while he hunted him. Eun-ji bascially just wanted everyone to die along with herself.
yeah its very disappointing. but come to think of it can be applied as realistic as well, to the point that even if you become "better" version of you revenge isn't the best answer of them all, and two is... justice isn't for all people... and even how much you deserve it, if destiny won't allow it you will never get it. that's how i interpret it.
So, some of the people say that if you get bitten by the zombies without feeling fear, as to what happened to Gwinam, Eunji, and Namra, you'd get to turn into a halfbie. Gwinam was bitten while he was swearing he'll take revenge, completely ignoring the zombies biting him. Eunji literally left the safe zone to look for the phones desperately, not even caring if she get killed by the zombies. Also, Namra retaliated and attacked Gwinam to save Suhyeok when she got bit, not fearing if he's a halfbie. So, it's really possible Cheongsan could've become a halfbie. First, because it took him too long to transform, we didn't even get to see him transform into one. Second, he literally said he doesn't feel any fear for Gwinam. I'm realizing all of this now. It's really possible that the group of halfbies Namra was talking about, Cheongsan could be one of them.
I was wondering why some people turned into halfbies after getting bit and others didn’t, this theory makes sense and gives me some hope that cheong san is actually alive in s2 :)
@@kashfia_t But Gwi Nam bit the archery guy on the upper arm/shoulder and he ended up turning. I think the scientist said that in addition to the human mind/emotions there has to be a genetic component of white blood cells that respond differently to the virus. I don't think hambies (halfbies) necessarily make other ones. We also have to keep in mind that the first hambies that came to be were bitten by common zombies (Gwi Nam, Eun Ji, and I think even the scientist Lee Byeon Chan (you can see on Ep 4 after he gets bit he walks instead of shambles which suggests he retained his consciousness). I agree that all 4 hambies (I'm including Byeon Chan) experienced extremely strong emotions and DETERMINATION (Eun Ji - extremely frustrated and determined to get into the teacher's office to break every phone, Gwi Nam - extremely angry and determined to kill Cheong San, Nam Ra - well I don't know what emotion she feels (lol she's so hard to read) maybe desperation? Love? and very determined to help/save Suh Yeok; and finally Byeon Chan - feeling resigned? regretful? acceptance? Idk...but he was determined to stall and save the detective so that something can be done to stop the virus from spreading). Again though, feelings and determination are NOT enough because we get examples of people who are EXTREMELY determined to want to save their children that become zombies. So there has to be a biological component that matters as equally whether someone turns into a full zombie or a hambie.
One of the most heartbreaking scenes for me was when Na-yeon infected Gyeong-su with her handkerchief. I got annoyed that they kept showing her after that. I thought they were going to try to redeem the character and have her rejoin the group which I wasn’t looking forward to. Luckily Gwi-nam finished her off. That was one of the few times that I liked him. She didn’t deserve redemption after what she did. Gyeong-su didn’t deserve such an ending. Very satisfying seeing her as a zombie in that pink sweater! Goes to show when you thought one thing was going to happen in the series, something entirely different happened. It kept you on your toes.
I was looking forward to them getting a chance to really confront her after what she did. And i was hoping shed give those poor kids some drinks and food
Tbh I kinda felt the opposite.. she realized that she obviously made the mistake and she didn’t want the teachers sacrifice to be in vain.. she also knew they were probably starving as she had all the drinks and snacks all to herself. So I just wanted her to make it to the roof to let everyone eat but it was a nice try lol
While the group was relieved to see Nam-Ra, I feel like the ominous ending was the group realizing the potential implications of a group of “half-bies” roaming freely. Nam-Ra was last seen gorging on zombie bodies..now she’s beautiful and satiated so on what has she sustained her appetite all this time when the city was supposedly purged? Even she seemed uneasy getting too close to her friends. Hopefully there’s a season 2 to explain.
I am a little disappointed that the show repeatedly did almost nothing with the characters that I considered to be most interesting. The pregnant girl and her baby could've been a great plot thread if it wasn't abandoned so early on. I thought that the detective Jae-ik and his journey to the school was genuinely interesting until it was abruptly interrupted. Na-yeon might have been the most interesting and layered character from the main bunch but she was sidelined far too quickly. And, in my opinion, the bully victim Eun-ji was a far more interesting antagonist but unfortunately never really got proper time to shine. Still an overall good show though.
THIS! For the first to 4th ep, they could've shown us more about the pregnant girl, what she went through, how the society view teenage pregnancy, etc. Then, when we're all invested, that's when the pregnant girl die to save her baby. For Eun-ji, bro I was expecting sooooooooo much from her. She is the embodiment of the scientist's wish that his son couldn't do: fight back the bullies. I thought that the detective, the Seoul academy grad dude, the RU-vidr, and On-Jo's father are gonna join forces to rescue the students. But no... wtf. One that got me feeling invested, but became a wasted opportunity was Na-yeon. I understand that for her character to shine, she has to die to redeem herself. I'm conflicted with her. I can see the point why she should die, but I also see a redemption arc. Overall, I thought that I'll see Chal seong dying first & wake up stronger than before & start tearing his rival's body into pieces. The ending is good & promising. I just thought they could've improved it. This show has so much potential. Anyways, they haven't eat.
Yes lol the main group's arc is more boring to me than the others. I had high expectations for the murder girl's arc, but then she just became another norm zomb lol what a wasted opportunity
OMG yeaaa!!! i kinda always think like this most of the time!! the show have tendency to make a character seems important, interesting, have development and connection with audience / other cast, but then just THROW it away like garbage!!
Thank you!! There was no character development, it was like the writers kept getting bored and decided to kill them half way through their stories or they just disappeared. So many pointless characters who could have had great storylines but in the end added nothing to the overall plot.
I think Gwi-Nam is one of the best actors in this show. How do you portray someone who has died so many times, and the fixation he had on finding Cheong-San; who I believe is the Second best actor whose on par with Nam Ra
Anyone else feel like Namra was kinda under-utilised during the escape? That was my one little gripe. We know from Gwi Nam that the zombies will ignore a hybrid so why did she never attempt to create a distraction??
@@versacedylanblue2367 I thought so too and was annoyed that she didn’t use that advantage the whole time. There was a moment that made me think she was starting to realise that she’s ignored by the zombies, in the sports hall when they made that circle. There was a gap in the circle then Nam-ra closed it, she was face to face with a zombie on the other side. To me, even though she was eye-to-eye with a zombie, it looked like the zombie was facing away from her. In that moment, I was hoping she would realise that zombies weren’t paying attention to her and knowing how smart her character is I was hoping it would click in her brain.
This show is written so well I finished it in 2 days. Character development is paced well and as the eps go by, you get more and more attached. Meanwhile, because of the character development, the stakes rise higher and higher which is simply brilliant. The pool of great actors Korea has is insane. Ji-hu Park (On-Jo) and Yi-Hyun Cho (Nam Ohn Jo) are clear stand outs with very subtle yet powerful performance and I hope they will have a big career. Thanks for reviewing this show!!
it's well written , but the dialogue between the characters is sometimes cringe, or it just drags on. They probably could have ended it on Episode 11, as that was more impactful, nothing really happened in ep12, and they could have saved it to Season 2. They could have shown quick shots of half-bies that are more like Nam-Ra, that would have been better and not just Nam-Ra jumping off the roof, lame.
Many Korean audience say the acting performance of actress playing Onjo is very poor. But many foreign audiences never seem to notice that because they dont know the tone of Korean language. Anyhow we are very happy that this new Korean show seems like becoming a new global hit tv show everyone can enjoy together in this boring Corona virus days.
This show suks with the bickering argument within the group. Also the plot with the zombie-human bully guy was too long and stupid. He literally was the reason why the characters were all running away. All of a sudden the tone of the show changes from zombie survival to human survival. Very disappointed that they didn't really show much more side from the government's perspective of how they contained the city. I know that the show's characters are all mostly teenagers; but they are pretty useless for teenagers in a zombie apocalypses. Half of the main characters were useless in the show.
I cried a lot in this series. The mother, the father, the male best friends, the female best friends, the brother & sister, the bullied, the lovers the martial law commander, the self baby delivery.. Its not just about the zombie action.
Why is no one mentioning the poor little girl that was kept in prison alone fore 2 days after seeing her mother die? It annoyed the fuck out of me they had the stupid RU-vidr in the same room as the cop but that poor girls was alone crying and scared.
Lets be honest, we thought Cheong-San was dead for sure a couple of times. He jumped from the window without anything but in next episode he was shown hanging with the pipe, we clearly heard a stabbing sound in the end of episode 4 but it turned out he was hit by the side of the knife and many other similar incidents. He has the thickest plot armor. Also every major character's zombie corpse was shown multiple times to deliver an emotional blow, if Cheong-san was truly dead they could've easily shown us his half burnt body, they showed us half-eaten, puss-filled, intestines-hanging bodies so what's wrong with a half burnt body? His body obviously wasn't turned to ashes as we saw someone's fully intact fingers. Moreover everyone except hambies turned within few minutes of being bit and there was a bit of time interval between Cheong-San being bit, others escaping to a safe distance, Gwi-Nam healing and coming back up and not to mention Cheong-San didn't had that weird seizure either. I've watched enough of zombie movies and series to know that if someone's corpse isn't shown, they have a solid chance of being alive.
Why is no one talking about the science teacher!?! When he turned it was pretty obvious he still had control. I could see him being the big antagonist for season 2… A genius hybrid zombie wanting to evolve the world
I indeed see him, probably, leading a antagonistic group of hambies to overturn the world order, considering his views on the world. Nam-ra being on the good side and opposing him.
The fact that I watched the whole 12 episodes in 1day like wow it’s really addicting to watch and it’s just like you want to know what happens next so you keep watching until you’ve realised you’ve watched all of it.(I’m not a fan of zombie movies/series but this one was really good I definitely recommend.
I loved this show and was engaged throughout the 12hrs. I love it more because for once, it wasn't about finding out how the virus started, but going on a journey from the beginning to how the people learnt to deal with the zombie pandemic. Hopeful for season 2 with a badass Nam-ra leading the halfies👍
THIS Korean zombie series was so cringey and so boring as heck with the stupid drama! All of the personal issues within the group got me so freaken bored I skipped 1/2 of every episodes since it was so boring! The action scenes were the only redeeming factors. Season 2 better not SUK with stupid drama between actors. The consistent flow of bickering, argument, personal issues, and lack of plot between all characters was stupid as heck. I was glad some of the useless characters were killed off. Then again they killed off some of the cooler characters too. The main human-fused zombie bully guy plot was decent; but he had too much on screen time. KILL him off permanently damn! It felt more like a Korean psychological thriller series than a zombie with cat-mouse with the main group and bully zombie-human guy.
@@i3eautifulmonster74 Show was terrible! Not judgmental. It's a fact. They focus too much time on the useless character bickering than about the virus or zombies themselves. The show's only redeeming factor was Nam Ra who was a tough half zombie girl that can kick butt. The government's action to contain the virus was also very good, but not enough screen time. The show was turned into something like a *Ellen Show* where they talk nothing but personal issues and stupid human issues. Very boring. Season 2 will stink if they keep adding useless drama between characters. The main cop guy and the reality subscriber TV show guy who snuck into the city plot was better than half of the dumb main characters bickering.
@@coolgamers2794 so the show was terrible because they wanted to focus on more then 2 characters to make it more interesting like a bunch of other zombie shows do??? and of course they’re gonna focus on the characters feelings there’s a zombie invasion so your points aren’t really valid since every zombie show does this
I love that way the rich girl's storyline ended. She had several chances for redemption, and she chose the worst option (staying put FOR TOO LONG - if she set aside her pride, apologized, offered the resources she had to benefit the group etc.). Almost got mad at my initial assumption that she'll turn into a hambie but in the end, she turned into an ordinary zombie just like the poor guy she killed. Her worries about her social standing and pride are insignificant in the face of death.
Cheong-san doesn't get enough credit. I love the fact that he's always first to risk his life, bring up ideas and save some slow idiots with emotional issues. His speed and judgement was the best amongst them.
I just finished watching it like 3 minutes ago, and now I'm just anxious for season 2 and would love to see more of Nam-ra. she really had a lot of strength holding herself from biting her friends. I just wish she could stay with her friends. overall this is an amazing series ❤
Nam-ra was the only decent character in the show. Everyone else was subpar and useless besides the guy and girl with bows. The other Suhyeok's character for being the strong lead for the team. 2/3 of the original characters didn't deserve to live and I am glad not many characters survived till the end. They act like their life don't depend on it when coming to stupid scenes where they could had defended themselves better.

I honestly like how his eye kept healing after each death but completely couldn’t heal. At one point it even seemed like he forgot. I personally think they hybridz are created out of either extreme emotion or distress because each hybrid we see who got created they were either fueled by hatred love or something else
@@lusmarinaprofar1616 yeah I definitely believe an emotion of some extreme is apart of the transformation. Especially with how everyone was screaming or yelling and had a deep desire before being bitten. Maybe even their will to live maybe…
i think the reason why his eye ddnt heal is because it was damaged first before he is turned and not after. the virus probably thought he already has a missing left eye so it just healed it to close the wound and not regenerate the eyeball itself
@@sirmeowmeow7319 that totally makes sense didn’t think about that. It was gone techno before he died and I believe after his second death he forgot but once he looked at himself or touched his eye he remembered and all that hate and malice came back. Though the regeneration properties of the virus are intriguing and I’m guessing the military still has that one girl and will look more into it themselves
Three of my favourites that aren’t the students are definitely Ms Park who acts as the moral compass that always dies harshly, the scientist that gets development throughout the season, and the general who I didn’t expect to be as invested in till the end!
@@shannenpebenito473 Based on that scene with the scientist as a zombie walking, I hope that may be the case since we’ve seen others in that fusion stage. If that’s the last of him it’d be fine but loved all his scenes. Also maybe we can see more of Eun-ji since she was last still alive under the captivity of the Korean government.
I'm interested to see what happened to the scientist. When he turned he seemed very calm.. well as half turned as Nam-ra, bully guy and rooftop girl. Pretty sure he survived but I don't think he's in Nam-ra's group given that she knows him.
Scientist seemed to have full control and consciousness so perhaps we fled the city and making others like him and who knows it can be his ultimate weapon. An army of halfbies
Me too! Her logic before she was bitten and helping the others to rationalise their situation was pretty amazing. They annoyed me with their emotional outbursts and she was always the voice of reason and ever so observant even seeing the pink girl infect the boy with her handkerchief
Finished the series in a span of 2 days. Every episode had my heart racing. The ending left us on another cliffhanger. It was relieving to see Nam-Ra being okay in the end but after she jumped off the roof and leaving the others in shock with the suspenseful music playing, I can only hope season 2 will be even better than season 1.
In one of the episodes it showed that a small "hamster" was trying to bite Ji-hu Park (On-Jo) while she was packing a drone in the science lab...we yet didn't know that whether she was actually bitten by the hamster or not...that could be an interesting point in the Season 2...
the whole show is filled with pointless scenes like that. The episodes were already way too long , and referring to such tiny details in later seasons is amateurish ... since everyon will forget about them..
Yeah when I first saw that episode I thought it was strange that the camera focused on the hamsters running around. I for sure thought that one of them was going to get bit so I was surprised when no one did. Maybe that's a clue that On-Jo might be immune to the virus since the mouse didn't try to bite her?
i like it but there were too many moments where everyone was actin dumb asf jus watching their friends die while all just standing there. There were too many times i found myself yelling at the screen saying "DO SOMETHING U IDIOTS". 8/10 tho
@@bangdanny137 i mean at first its ok to think but episodes in after they've all had plenty of close encounters with the zombies it starts to look stupid. (still a gud series tho)
It’s a fawn response instead of fleeing or fighting when faced with danger they freeze it’s a coping mechanism. It’s realistic. Some people will fight some flee some freeze.
I binge-watched it all day Friday!! I really hope it gets renewed for a season 2 asap!!! Some of the death scenes were truly heartbreaking especially when the brother gives his life for his older sister. Yes, I cried.
It won't get a season 2. Korean series rarely have second seasons. That's what is great about them. Not everything needs to be dragged on forever, if you want that then watch Walking Dead.
i think everyone is ignoring the fact that the government has the method to make the virus along with specimens who are both zombies and hambies. In season 2 we may very well see them try to make biological weapons like enhanced soldiers using the virus, which obviously goes horribly wrong and the formation of a community of hambies along with their own internal strifes. It all could be some pretty interesting stuff but above all, I just hope cheong-san is alive!!! goddamn it pleaseeee !!!!!
one thing they could have improved, is have less talking points and just keep us on our toes ... Get them running away, and not get an episode of them just sitting put in 1 location. I could have done with 2 hours less of the content and just flesh out the boring parts and unneeded dialog, like i don't need to see them waking up and then spending 20 minutes before they make a move.
As much as i hate Na yeon in the beginning, her death was really frustrating since she was having a development and they just killed her off like that.
@@only-r1k i know right!! To be honest i actually loved her. She was the most realistic character except one part. We would be so scared if we were in the situation
@@only-r1k Sometimes redemption can happen to late. She had her chance when they was in the music room, but she chose to not go to them until it was to late.
I enjoyed it but too many characters disappeared and died and no one mentioned them again. Archery boy, died in the rain girl, and snobby infected her classmate girl. Also, where's my dad girl's father did all of that to find his daughter and die two minutes later. Okay!
Yeah I think there was a bit too many characters and storylines that bulked up the episode time. Drop a couple of them and you have a way tighter plot.
Finally, someone else who said the same thing I was thinking. It's so frustrating that none of them were stabbing heads even though they were talking about zombie movies. Everyone knows to kill a zombie you have to stab them in the head. The only ones that seamed to so so were the archers and the bully with the knife.
SPOILERS AHEAD I rate this show a 7 out of 10. It was good but there are many missed opportunities. Some character arcs were good. Plot is interesting tho since the virus didn't originated as a biohazard weapon like most zombie stories. The half zombie plot is a really cool concept too, reminds me of some anime like Parasyte and Tokyo Ghoul. The revenge subplot to cheongsan by the bully was kind of dragging and were there for the sake of having another threat. And the way the zombie plot armor always revive him like, a human body is fragile and although he can regenerate or something, the amount of damage he took from countless falls and damage should slowly start to affect him and his mobility. It would've been more awesoe if the bullied girl that has a scandal video fought the bully as revenge so we could witness a fight to the death between the two. The dad's death was shit though, he could've escaped but still lure them away when the zombies are already flocking the flares that caused him to be bitten. The injured fat dude's death was chad, and also the glasses guy, they're deaths was well executed and not "forced" like it was something they could only do in the situation. Finally, Nayeon's character was really disappointing in terms of character arc. the only way she could atone for her sin was to stay alive and admit that she was wrong, that was her redemption but the writers did her dirty. the teacher's sacrifice was in vain so why did they bother to show us her parting speech to nayeon if she's just gonna die. she could've died with some sort of sacrifice and atonement but she never got the chance to do things. such wasted character. after all she just wants to belong and even though what she did was totally unforgiveable, they could've atleast got her some chance to redeem herself later on.
It seemed they didn’t care for her character. They barely showed her even when she should’ve been showed, like when all the zombies came in the room when they tried to escape. I hate how they didn’t even try to give her a story outside of being a rich girl
Yeees, the dad scene was stupid., I also thought they were gonna make rich girl die to Gyeong-Su, I was actually rooting for this ending, if she were to die, that way i feel retribution was served for what she did to him. I also find it stupid that the whole group when reaching the town, didn't even try to go into any of the surrounding houses when the horde was on the way, nobody looked for food or water, and they decide to fight with what energy?????
this show wouldve been good without the awkward and forced teen romance like it is painful how many poor written love confessions there were littered throughout for no reason
I liked it because it showed the immaturity and simple mindedness of the students since theyre still young and driven by emotion. It also fueled some of the characters to keep living even if their other loved ones had turned
i think showing how young they are in this way is effective too to emphasise how much potential of life and living that they had and make it more heartbreaking that they die so tragically
Damn i cant get my mind out of this show. I still feel like Im in school with them trying to survive. This show made me cry so much. I thought this is just another zombie series but no this is a masterpiece! Not to mention the performance of the rookie casts and the production. And this is probably the zombie series where I understand how the virus started and came from. Because of the bullying...
youre very right, They really did do a good job in introducing the virus & can we also talk about the world bulding?? the location & design were very well done & we got to explore the locations & buildings pretty well although I will admit I was 90% of the time lost to which lvl & side of the buildings they kept moving to lol
Something that was never addressed again was that On-Jo was scratched by the first zombie girl in the school infirmary during the 1st episode. Shouldnt she also be infected??
All those who wants to see an hour long breakdown of the masterpiece ( one of the best shoes ever not just k dramas ) - flower of evil drop a like so this spoiler man knows it !!!!
There are spoiler in season 2 that Gwi nam and Cheong san are still alive and min eunji and nam ra will team up fighting against Gwi nam because they are rare zombie that awake and evolve compared to normal zombies.
I’m still confused how one of the characters turned into a zombie after zombie blood got wiped on their open wound, but another character accidentally stabbed himself with a blood covered weapon and multiple characters had zombie blood constantly drop into their mouths when they would get pinned down. My only two thoughts could either be that the writers didn’t catch the mistake or that the friend was infected after all from the scratch and he was doomed to turn whether or not the only girl wiped zombie blood on his wound. If anyone has another theory explanation to this whole thing, please let me know here. Overall I thought it was a great show.
I think the writers just forgot, although the show was entertaining there were alot of hiccups like how the girl set the school on fire but the building never burned down and how the bombs they drop didn't destroy a single building or leave a big hole in the ground
@@cordariusgreen8417 We did see the sprinklers turning on and taking out the fire that Eun-Ji started, it happens very fast so it's easy to miss but it is shown.
I wish On-Jo will ever get the idea what left side cheong San was referring to... Hyo Ryung probably is the luckiest person to survive through this from the start without contributing any idea or strength xD
I just finished the drama. It was so intriguing. I really wanted to know the pregnant girl's back story. Like how on earth did she get pregnant in the first place cuz I thought there was gonna be more story to her. I also like the police cop and his sidekick I wish there was more of them towards the end. Also is it me or does anyone else think the female teacher who saved Nayeon did not turn into a full zombie? Like I know she got bit and she was in the process of turning but they didn't show the final result? Like I was actually thinking she could have become a hybrid zombie/human.
I wish more people understood Koreans so that they can watch the show from our point of view. Subtitles sometimes really failed to deliver the impact certain lines were meant to have in Korean.
Had an additional thought about S2 that I think everyone's overlooked. Yes, the kids will be back, But! I think the Assemblywoman is going to play an interesting part. Remember she didn't resign. That means she's still the political representative of the district, and after everything she's seen and gone through, she might be one of the ones who goes back into the Zone and discovers the hybreds. She might even lose her fear of them and become a political champion for them. This probably wouldn't be a thread that would really take hold until the back end of the series, but at some point, if she accepts them, then she's going to clash with the people who want to isolate them or outright kill them. Politics always plays a big part in K-Dramas so I can't see them not including that angle as well.
The ending is a bit weird, there was eerie music and all of the group looked straight ahead when Nam Ra leaped off the building. At first they were starting to move towards the edge to check on Nam Ra but then they all stopped and looked ahead with shocked expressions.A normal person would probably run to the edge and see if she landed safely but the fact that they all looked straight ahead in shock could suggest they saw something in the distance, maybe other half zombies like Nam Ra or perhaps Nam Ra somehow flew away. Flying away seems abit unrealistic however the virus is named Jonas virus, Jonas meaning dove in Hebrew. Eek flying angels of death!! Also how did pregnant girl get infected? I probably wasn't watching when she got bit but a time stamp will be helpful, many thanks
She literally stated in the camp fire she has a group and they were coming. She probably went to stop them from getting closed to her friends. The pregnant girl got bit during a time jump getting to safe spot for the baby
I think Cheong-San is coming back in S2. First off, I have to say there’s bad news: The director of the series clearly said CS’s death was part of the plan in S1 and that it will contradict with some of the scenes/plot should CS be resurrected. However he did hear all the demands from us audiences and concluded that he can’t confirm anything at the moment. 👇 is my guess: When creating the script, the crew didn’t know if they should write CS dead though they prefer to follow the original story in which CS dies. But from a production perspective, they would always try to leave an open end to the main characters’ life, allowing future possibilities should there be a sequel. Being arguably the most important character plus a fan favourite (potentially), CS fits the bill perfectly. That’s why they wrote all those grey area throughout the series, trying to create 2 outs for themselves. They simply dunno what to do! So I think the crew is in NOW DECIDING whether to resurrect CS in S2. And here’s why I believe they will eventually let him come back: The director confirmed: “if S1 was meant to be about human’s survival against zombies, then S2 will be about zombies’ survival”. This huge hint points to the possibility that the S2 theme will surround good hambies fighting for survival against humans and on the other hand helping human fight evil hambies like Gwi-Nam. In that case, they will need to include more characters on the good hambies camp, other than Nam-ra. Adding in CS as another good hambie makes perfect sense based on his personality and character. Plus it will be easier and more audience-friendly than bringing in brand new characters. And remember when On-jo said she’s never gonna trust adults? This scene paves her way to joining the good hambies’ side, along with the other classmates. PS: Despite trying to be rational, tbh I don’t even care whatever reason it turns out to be, just bring Cheong-San back already!!! We need to see him coming back to On-jo and she kicks him hard in his leg before shouting back “Today, I’m the luckiest girl in the world~”

Questions What’s with the professor? (Hambie prob.) What’s with Cheongsan (btw I think he is dead due to the strong fire, but anything can happen) Did they really stopped the spread? I LOVED IT SM, recommend u all. I just can’t think right now, I cried many times, the actors CGI the BGM! it’s finally not a too dump zombie movie where they just give up and all, I love the toilet part, their dried lips and wow… the makeup artist and the costume designers are amazing! @@rishavbarnwal7155 he was walking away with full conscience the last time we saw him. It is still unknown to us whether he experimented the virus on himself before which might explain how he was able to control the infection. For all we know, he is definitely not a zombie but most likely a halfbie like Nam Ra, Eun Ji and Gwi Nam
Cheongsan is dead. It showed his ashes from the missle. They're still trying to prevent the spread, experimenting on that one girl and soldier. Read this webtoon as a kid in Korea, there's more to the story
@@mundanejane353 I don't think they know how to do zombies, WHAT THEY REALLY KNOW TO DO..Is a perfect combination Of Zombies and drama in a perfect pace and perfect amount of twists. They do it better than anyone else. Koreas expert in making a story with ZOMBIES, DRAMA, GOOD PACE AND TWISTS .
I was waiting for a Eun-jin and Gwi-nam face off. And they couldve used Nam-ra to get some food and water since she has the same scent as the zombies 😒
@@Julie-ht1qc nam-ra heard a voice of na-yeon when she's tapping her feet on the floor. but idk i think nam-ra doesnt realize the voice she heard is from the storage room.
The three things that annoyed the most was the “cliffhangers” that led to nothing, the fact that they went through a couple of days without food and water and still had energy to fight and lastly, the friends just standing there seeing Cheong-san getting beat up by the villain! They all could’ve easily jumped him! Hell one of the archers could’ve shot him!
There were too many annoying things in the series for me to truly enjoy it. Take Nam Ra, she just watched things happen without much input. Whether it were simple things like lighting fire- she watched them try to light fire for how long before she told them she's got a lighter, to like WTH. Or serious stuff like when the pink sweater girl infected that one boy on purpose. Nam Ra jest watched it happen and only told what was going on when the boy was as good as dead. Or the survivors group going on without water and food-she could easily just walk to a bathroom and get them water or search for food seeing as she was safe from zombies herself like Gwinam or whatever his name was. Or she could draw the zombies away making noise somewhere else. There was so much much she could do and done nothing. And then there's a lot of logical issues like those virus mutations. The bad guy and Nam Ra have mutated version of the virus and yet people the bad guy infect, like the pink sweater girl, get the basic version of the virus. Or sounds, zombies are oh so sensitive to loud noises like thunder, yet screaming in their ear does nothing to them and the thunder also only works when it suits the director. Same with the high pitch noise, it's like the filmmakers can't decide if it should incapacitate zombies or draw them in for the bombing. Or the son of the scientist. He had the basic version of the virus, yet he was sane in the very beginning, in the scene when the kids were bitting him. I could go on like that, just too much inconsistencies
I think i got the inconsistencies u pointed out. I'll try to list them here: - Namra wasn't sure what was happening when the pink sweater girl and gyeongsu was speaking in the recording room. She just pieced together the things she witnessed after gyeongsu turned. She wasn't sure what was happening until it happened. - Virus mutations are predictable and unpredictable things in Science. It was never established that when someone was a halfbie, the ppl they bite will become one. In that case, Namra was just lucky that she became a halfbie and not just a regular zombie. The others aren't as lucky. We could think that the virus' mutations doesn't pass on unless accepted by the body, as is with the nature of a virus (for example HIV, a daughter of a person with HIV may or may not have HIV, but is a high possibility). - At the safe camp, between the two zombies captured, regular zombies are sensitive to sound, while halfbies are affected by high pitched sounds due to their heightened senses, as displayed with Namra's abilities and the bullied girl as well. Actually, i think this was shown well on screen but i guess ppl still missed it. For example, in the thunderstorm scenes, regular zombies was just confused about the thunder because they do not know where the sounds come from; it appears to come from everywhere. That's why it is the best opportunity to move because the zombies are confused out of their mind. While halfbies such as gwinam and namra are deeply affected because the thunder sound is louder for them. - Mr. Lee's son was injected by the benzodiazepine that was injected to Hyeonju (patient zero) as well. It appears to slow the process of infection, thus the switching. The virus hasn't had a hold of them YET, that's why in their calm state they go back. However, Mr. Lee, in his continuous journey for the cure by himself, sadly found out that there isn't a cure. And the only thing to kill the zombies is to burn them beyond repair, thus the bombing. Edit/Additional: - Namra haven't had the opportunity to explore the gist of her powers like gwinam. Since she hasn't been with a group of zombies by herself and realize it since most of her time was with the group that is running away from the hoards. She only thinks she has the heightened senses and above average strength. She might have slowly realized that zombies wasn't biting her on the scene in the gym with the barricades. But she was not too caught up on that because ,again, they are panicking and running away. I think that's all u mentioned. All in all, i liked this series. However, my only critic is, the soundtrack could be better. The sound scoring was awesome (the cracks of the bones were chilling), but the soundtrack was pretty lacking.
Namra wasn't aware what her capabilities are, she's still in a stage of discovering and adjusting to these newly found abilities. And she's always been an introverted person even though she's the class president that's why when Suhyeok first approached her, he was surprised that she can actually speak more than five words. I think she had one of the best character development in the series. She started as a silent perfect student to a more confident and outspoken person.
@@lizkidadle9732 Idk I definitely would have asked her why she decided to wipe zombie blood into her napkin then actually put it back in her sweater lol. Like... uhhh.. wtf do you need that for??
@@thespy6707 i mean i would do that too. But this is a different person. Her character in the series was established as a laid back girl. She doesn't wanna associate herself with her classmates because she accepted the prejudice they have with her that she's just a rich girl yada yada yada. Of course, us watching would want the characters to do the things we think they should do but that should not be the case everytime. We have to understand the characterization. And also, I have watched other yt reaction of that scene and even they have not pieced together the hints (that being nayeon staring intently at the bloody broom, the zoom of her hand inside the pocket, the wiping of the napkin on his wound, and her spiteful expression while doing so), they still was shocked with the revelation. There are different ppl with different though processes. You can't think that how you think will be the way they would think. That's why they establish character at first so that viewers know where characters stand initially.
the part that pisses me off the most was when onjo’s dad sacrificed himself like- why tho ?? you actually had the time to just lock the gate outside yet you chose to lock yourself in with the zombies that’s just 😩😩
I loved it. I think they did a great job of getting you to know the characters without tons of extra unnecessary back story. And if they did the smartest thing every time we wouldn't have anything to watch!
i think cheong-san is still alive coz when Nam-ra said, "i have some of friends that the condition were same w/me" i think one of them is cheong-san, it won't be gwi-nam coz everytime nam-ra see gwinam, she's always become a zombie and trying to fight him, and again, she won't call gwi-nam as a "friend". and when she says "they come" and she jumps, su-hyeok and others were so shock to see something, so i guess they see cheong-san and the others halfbie. hopefully my analogy was true😭 cheong-san deserves better, deserves the best!
@@blue_lightning3925 idk but i guess gwi-nam was dead, but cheong-san is still alive. gwi-nam doesnt deserve to live coz he already lives for 129394739292 times, so its his time to dead , hopefully😂
They had me In the first half ngl, Why do zombie thrillers always let the MC die along with the antagonist, when the antagonist Is SUPPOSED TO die in multiple occasions but still does survive, I was kinda disappointed of the ending because of how theres many plot holes In the show
Cheong san was not the MC sadly... i thought he was the MC too but the series proved us wrong... in All Of Us Are Dead behind the scenes it is said Ohn ju was the MC
I loved it, but a lot of problems. One, how did Nam'-ra survive for 4 months without anything to eat? And why is she so happy, it just feels so weird without any answers. There was a point in the series where the science teacher says that if the virus learns a consciousness, they'll be doomed, but the plot never took advantage of that? It would be so cool but it never happened. The dad's sacrifice was honestly too quick, he just came to his daughter after he fought hell to come back to her, just to die for her, in any way, so many ways they all could had lived. The weirdest part is they are letting in survivors at the end, when they just learned that theres no way of telling that the person is infected or not, they even left the students and threatened to shoot them because of it, I expected them to be more cautious.
1 and 2 are basically set up for season 2. The scene is intentionally 'off'. Like Nam-ra is looking good but it's also been months, who knows what she's been eating, who her group are, how they function. Science teacher didn't even die. 3 though I agree lol. "Wait why are they being allowed in now?.. nothing's changed about that rule??.. WAIT.. this all took place over like.. 4 days.. NONE of them are anything lol.. where did they get their strength?
If the fearless/halfbie theory is correct, then that means that Lee Suhyeok would have most likely turned into a halfbie if Nam-ra had chose to bite him since he wasn’t afraid of her.
The archery boy and the selfish pink sweater girl turned into full zombies. Maybe it's something more to do with antibody and how their mind or body react. Not knowing what can happen, Namra wouldn't bite Sehyeok.
I feel like Gwi-nam is still alive dudes basically immortal and it will take a lot to kill him and possibly Chang-san I don’t know why but I feel somehow Nam-ra might become a villain in season 2 I hope not but I just have a feeling that the zombie side of her will truly take over her eventually and that she’s have a cult with her too it seemed like that was teased at the end when she said there’s others like her
In real life its extremely difficult to penetrate the skull. Its not made of cheese like most zombie movies portray lmao. Also you need to remember its hard to bring yourself to kill even in that situation
@@myk-popper2960 true but it depends, in this all the zombies were pretty fresh but after a few weeks or months in the sun they’d decompose more and be easier to kill. And nah man they had all witnessed death and saw if you don’t fight you die

@@myk-popper2960 i don’t think the argument about killing animals relates, someone does want to shot a deer that’s A OK, I can guarantee you if a tiger just ripped apart your friend and starts coming for you you’re gonna blow its brains out… OR you die. Just finished. Quickly became obsessed with this series. We were so invested emotionally with all these characters. The acting was amazing. So was the character development.
I enjoyed the show but there were too many plot holes. How did the group never think about food and ways to get them for nearly 3-4 days? And it was frustrating to see gwi-nam come back to life with the same strength everytime he fell to the ground like couldn't they think of any other way to make him weaker if they couldn't kill him? And the main female lead had no expressions half the time. Nayeon emoted better than her, though she was a negative character. The character of eun-ji was so infuriating, how couldn't she show any of her sass to her bullies in the first place? It wasnt the worst, but it's certainly not the best that Korea has made bout zombies. Still waiting for kingdom 3 😭
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! All Of Us Are Dead is one of the best tv shows ive watched. There are some parts where i cried and parts where i laughed and parts when i was panicking. they took 2 years to make this tv show and it was worth it. i can't even explain how good this show is! i love korean zombie movies and this is the best so far! its a good teenage show with sad moments and its like so good. there were characters i hated and characters i loved. its just a good zombie show. i love the fat jokes they made as well lol. go watch it now its amazing like train to busan and hapiness and other stuff. and i love zombies in a school attacking students lol. if you are interested of watching a good zombie movie this is the one! and get ready to cry lol. and its a 12 hour series so you get the most out of it!!! and im excited for season 2 cause they left us with a cliffhanger 😞😒 and i dont know why there are negative reviews like this show is insane. and sadly its not in top 10 in aus and it should be! but it should be in top 10 in other countries. and this should be trending on tiktok soon and i really hope so i can watch edits about it :)
They definitely didn't take full advantage of the Asymptomatic character Nam Ra. I mean...why risk death when you can have her make a way. They obviously won't bite her because she already infected. Have her lead them out the way...but I guess that won't make good entertainment.

I can’t be the only one bother by how on jo literally was wounded by the first zombie girl in ep 1 and nothing was build upon it. Another being over the course of the first three episodes we watch cheongsan mom go through all this bullshit to get to her son and she just dies like that. I was honestly mad at that, she should’ve died in ep 1 after that dumb shit
She was only scratched. Which doesn't cause change. We see this with the boy in the audio room. His hand was scratched and didn't change, only after the zombie blood was put into the wound did something happen.
@@Aidreanna0723 it doesn’t make sense that it doesn’t do anything. There’s bacteria in the nail so a scratch regardless how big or small still was infected. this show was so good. have not seen a zomibe movie/show being this good in a long time. it feelt more realistic. mabey because it's no guns in it. i really wanted the bullied girl to get a happy ending, but i also understand why she was so angry in the end. it would have been really cool if she became friends with the main group and helped them. the girl with long hair and pink shirt made me so angry, but she didn't deserv that end.
She literally murdered someone to prove a point and thought it was ok because he's poor... Then she sat in a room filled with food and drinks and did nothing to help any of them. How did she not deserve what happened to her? She had a chance to redeem herself and she blew it. Her last minute attempt out of guilt was pathetic. You reap what you sow 🤷🏻♀️

Another thing that most people overlook is that something is wrong with On-Jo, she got scratched/bit at the infirmary by the girl who got first infected while On-Jo was holding her down, and they explicitly mention that in a conversation, the hamster at the science room weirdly sniffed her ankles (if it was zombie hamster it would've just bit her and if it was a normal hamster it would've ran away) and Nam-Ra furiously went for her neck but stopped at the right time. Something's up with her, maybe she's immune or zombie queen or something like that.
Love the show but there are too many moments of "deer caught in headlights" reaction, that got old fast. Other than that it's a great show. Really enjoyed it.
well maybe, Nam-ra couldn't smell Cheong-san mostly because he too has the zombie virus in him, and plus he was among the bodies as well. Another thing is that, when all of them were at the construction site, discussing about the nukes which were going to happen, Nam-ra wasn't able to smell Gwi-Nam as well, but eventually, they all got to know that he was here because he screamed, "Cheong-san!!!" pretty loudly. So, we might get to see Cheong-san in season 2 (only if it happens.)
Also how can they completely forgot about Kim Ji-Min after she got Isolated, lost and eaten at the ground ceremony. She was never mentioned or remembered by the team after that so what the hell.
Calling it now Lee Cheong-san isn’t dead. Nam ra probably couldn’t smell him because it taking time for him to heal so he’s dead right now. But will wake up changed.
@@thespy6707 Go back and watch the scene again. Before he fell down the shaft he grabbed Gwi-nam and shielded himself from the blast. Gwi-nam gets incinerated but you still Lee Cheong-san as he falls. Also you see him buried in Ash in one scene we dont know if that was right after the bombing or months later. When they go back to the building they never check the shaft because they dont know he fell. Lastly Nam ra said there were others like her that survived the bombing and were in hiding. That alone is another big hint that he possibly survived but Nam ra did not tell them as she left because he might have asked her not to say anything.
@@Sinestra00 Yeah I saw that scene.. he is literally STILL engulfed in the flames lol. It's right after the bombing dude. They don't need to check the shafts?. He's already dead. If they were like her.. then much like her, they heard the warnings and ran to safety.. not like the zombies were a threat. Just saying if he did survive. Like after the blast his infection finally took over and healed him.. than that's LAME af lol. That's two death fake outs.
I've just started rewatching this show, and I just realized that the show is basically taking revenge on Gwi-Nam. He was the one who pushed the science teacher's son off the building in the opening scene. So the show serves Gwi-Nam divine justice by making him fall over and over and over again to his "death" (except he can't die) 🤣🤣🤣
I just noticed that nam-ra and cheongsan got bit by their hands while the guy archer got bit in the neck? So it is possible that cheongsan will be back?
How would Cheong be alive when he was literally burnt to a crisp. Bully guy didn't come back?. On-jo's nametag was still there and I doubt he would have left it behind. Sorry him being brought back to life somehow is such bad writing after already giving a fake out death THEN giving him a sacrifice moment with a conclusion to the villain plot.
A lot of people are saying Nam Ra is kickass but tbh, she could've done MORE and more lives could have been saved. If you remember the scene where they created a barricade in the auditorium, Nam Ra's face was very close to the zombies and she noticed that the zombies didn't even look at her. At that point, her smart brain knew that she was immune to the zombies. She could have jumped out of the barricade and pulled the zombies out of the way and open the lock from outside for the group to flee. Also, she could've prevented Gyeong-Su's death since she saw what Na Yeon was up to. Nam Ra had the advantage to distract or stall the zombies while the group make an escape but she didn't. She also let Cheong San fight alone with Gwi Nam in episode 11. The real badass queens are Ha-Ri and Mi-Jin. These freaking besties never hesitated to fight those zombies.
i agree with some but as for fighting gwi nam, she said that she's not strong right now and there are drones producing sound waves that time. you can see her covering her ears, maybe that's why she can't fight back. also, maybe there's a plot twist for S2
@@myeonday8563 Yes, her superpowers didn't manifest when Gwi-Nam was choking Cheong San and her heightened senses made her struggle which I find weird that Gwi-Nam who is also a hambie but didn't get distracted by the sound waves. Without Nam-ra's superpowers, she really didn't help much except that one time when she came up with the idea of drawing the zombies to the speakers. On Jo who is supposedly just an ordinary girl has done a LOT for the group's survival. On Jo was annoying in the beginning but after her friend's death, she grew up so much and became likable after!
@@HeySay3 You also forget Nam Ra was not eating at all except biting her own hands whilst starving meanwhile you5have Gwi-Nam feasting on anyone which gave him a lot of strength compared to Nam Ra
Do we know what happened to the zombiefied science teacher that made the Jonas virus? I think he kept his consciousness when he got infected. He could come back in season 2 with the goal of spreading the virus, because although his human mind gave the location of his laptop to the detective, his first instinct upon seeing the police station get overrun was to smirk in satisfaction. And the half infected tend to follow their instinct rather than their logical mind ; the class president was an exception I think.
That's my biggest question, "Where is Lee Byeong?" I honestly thought that he might show back up in episode 12, or at least in a post or end credit scene. Makes me think there won't be a season 2.
@@trevonh4139 i noticed that whenever someone turn into a zombie there’s always a scene of them turning and acting like zombies but lee byeong chan had no seen like that as far as I can remember 😅
Amazing!! The archery scene is so impressive for me! All clean head shot! No wonder the girl is good at archery in the film, Korea has won the gold medal in the women's archery team event for the nine consecutive Olympic games. They have won ALL of the gold medals since the event was introduced back at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
Her senses were nullee by the sound drones. She mentioned during the thunder storm her sense are useless at that moment and it's the same when the drones were herding near the school
who else fell for Chungsan?/ he is my favorite!!!!! I hope he come back on season 2 cuz...ahhhhhhhhh I thought he was the main character!!! he's wayyy too cool!!!!!!!!!
In EP 5 Nam ra talk about if they become minority and all minority have way of going extinct and ask su yeok you think you could make it through? it just a foreshadowing of namra becoming a minority as she is halbie and I think season 2 is all about how would a halbie make it through this world full of humans
It's interesting enough for to not be able to stop watching till the end. There're a lot of wtf moments, but it's alright. It's not perfect, but it's a series that make you want to watch more. So it's pretty great.
@@slykhajiit2 moments like when they just stop, watching the others get attacked or moving so slow when things gone awry. There're plot holes here and there, things could've done better. But those things are still allright and doesn't stop me to keep enjoying the series till the end. Bear in mind, I'm a pretty picky person and not really enjoy watching drama/tv series.
Seems there'll be a season 2 since it's very popular. Overall, I enjoyed the drama, expecially the concept of highschool students trying to survive against zombies. There were quite a few differences compared to the webtoon, some of which I found meh, eg. the pregnant girl, she didn't really add to the plot in anyway. And the drama had more focus on the romance, this wasn't too bad, but I wanted more from namra and bare-su in the ending.
Any thoughts on the pregnant chick and the baby? I feel like that storyline was never fleshed out. Was it commenting on the love of a mother? Babies are generally a sign of hope so perhaps it was that? Also are those bullying scenes realistic? I went to a mellow school so never seen this type of bullying. The intense punch-ups and sexual harassment is dipping into psychopathic criminal territory. Does that actually happen IRL?
Sadly yes. While i personally never seen it, some people were affected by this type of bullying. It is also (supposedly) very common in south korea(someone can debunk this tho, since google isnt really the most credible source)
When Namra leaps off the building at the end... that's the same roof that Mullet fell off several times and sustained a lot of damage. So it's a sign she's become more powerful in the times she's been apart from them and the reaction of the others seems to imply they realise that too.
I just finished it and must say it was hard to continue to keep watching till the end. There were too many frustrating moments, unnessescary deaths, bad decisions/not thinking things through and many more. To be honest, I was even rooting for the antagonist. He was the smartest, yes kinda sad the delinquent is the smartest. Him being lax was due to him being immortal (thought himself as god), therefore he was going for inflicting pain and suffering instead of outright killing, In my morbid conclusion, this series showed us the ineffectiveness of the south korean education system. Students may be book-smart but they can't apply it in live and important situations. Showing the delinquent who experienced a small part of the street-life with more grips.
Am I the only one that was bothered by how the characters never ate.. Except for that one chocolate bar divided amongst themselves and were still performing in their peak physical form?? Though loved this series..
They literally discussed in the broadcast room about the 3,3,3 rule of survival but you'll never see them eat or drink water until they got the chocolate bar at the gym.
Just finished the show and absolutely loved it. Definitely took me back to when I watched Highschool of the Dead the first time. Of course without the gratuitous Fan-service. Seeing us how most of the plot takes place at the highschool, this would truly have been a great live action adaptation of HOTD
The show was really good. I didn't care for the characters or the their teenage drama. The deaths didn't have much of a impact on me to be honest, if they all died I would of been ok with that (The show is called "All of us are dead," after all) Big question is, Where the Fuck! Did Lee Byeong go???????
