Sundaes we're called sundaes because it was thought to be indecent to lick an ice cream cone on Sunday. In some places it was against the law. Those Victorians had some major hang ups. Carnival glass only got it's moniker after iridescent glass fell out of favor. The companies that had their leftovers, sold their stock to carnivals as prizes.

My grandma would be 112.. said all her glass dishes cups etc were carnival glass! Had to pitch a penny into the dish you wanted when the carnival would come to town.

Two pieces of Waterford in the wild! That's awesome!! You could put those green glasses with your red ones and use them at Christmas time. You found some nice pieces at that Goodwill. They're selling the more expensive items online to make more money. It's a bummer for people who like the thrill of the hunt for that unicorn or rare piece.

Watching your camera scan over the shelves when I spot something special to me. A resin angel holding a star (8:21). My daughter was gifted an angel just like this 25 years ago. Unfortunately we lost everything in a devastating flood that took out half our town in 2013. I recognized her immediately at a glance. Brought back so many good memories.

The trouble with the Goodwill online shopping is that they charge quite a lot for shipping as well as a handling price that can be $2-4 and up added to the shipping cost.

I have found some really great stuff on the Goodwill websites. I don't mind the shipping and handling fees as the items are still less expensive than other purchasing options. I am looking as a collector and not a reseller.

First of all, Laurel is beyond beautiful. Her smile is infectious ❤️. As a collector of Rosenthal for many years I too came across some Rosenthal Netter pieces years back. They aren’t my style so I sold them. Glad you bought it. Great finds on the Waterford!!!! I have done extensive research on Rosenthal markings so if you ever need any help please reach out. ❤️

The Goodwills in our area put a barcode price sticker in the center of the plate or bowl, entirely covering the manufacturer name. Very frustrating, since if you peel back the sticker, they won’t sell it to you.

I don’t understand alexandrite glass…..if you are just talking about the color change, I get it, but alexandrite is a Russian gemstone. It is very very rare and expensive. It was named after the czar and it changed color depending on what light it is in. Anything approaching one karat would run you more than a thousand dollars. I am a gemstone collector and I have a .10 point alexandrite…..all I could afford. I have quite an extensive collection, including every color of diamonds except pink, so I know a little about stones.

The proper term, I believe, is neodymium glass. But people will often call it alexandrite Glass as well.
