Considering that the show ran for 7 years the weapon’s firing is only 21 minutes in total is very impressive. I feel like it is a really good summation of what it stood for. Not afraid to use their ship weapons but not the true focus.

One thing I loved as a kid was the little charge up pulse that ran around the phaser strips before it fired. Sadly by the end of Voyager they seemed to forget this standard for Starfleet vessels and the voyager was firing phasers without the little pulse of charge beforehand...

Not sure what you mean. In Voyager they do it quite consistent, of course there are some episodes where they forget it. In TNG they also forgot to do it many times, but they fixed some with the remaster. It is also linked to phaser yield. Low yields usually don't need a charging cycle.

Pity it never fired all it's weapons in Generations on that Bird of Prey, nor did the USS Odyssey in DS9 fire all it's weapons on those 3 Jem H'adar fighters. Those two battles are a disgrace for what the Galaxy class starship was actually capable of doing.

Amen, Snowwie. That is exactly, what I thought. Both times. I was expecting a serious ass-beating. Well, it was what I got, but in the other way. @@srptr_w Not in Generations, when the BOP fired on the Enterprise the Enterprise made a right turn away from the BOP, which makes NO SENSE at all, since the main torpedo launcher is near the deflector dish. Sure the Enterprise has an aft torpedo launcher, but why wait to do the 180 turn, and why not fire multiple torpedo's even though the BOP has still it's shields up? Even backwards the Enterprise could still fire salvo's of torpedo's from it's aft launcher (as also seen in Encounter at Far Point S01E1). ^^sigh, well at least it felt pretty good seeing those Galaxies pounding those Galor class in Sacrifice of Angels in DS9..... Watching this video confirmed something that I've suspected for a long time. Which is, other than against Q (in Encounter at Farpoint) and the Borg, who are not conventional enemies, the Enterprise-D never fired photon torpedoes in a space battle against a non-illusory enemy from a prime timeline. - the Warbird from "Where Silence Has Lease": didn't really exist ("that was too easy...") - the Delta Rana warship from "The Survivors": didn't really exist - dispersal pattern Sierra against the K'vort-class from "Yesterday's Enterprise": timeline erased when the Enterprise-C re-entered the rift and restored history - the cloaked Warbirds in "Redemption II": the Sutherland fired them, not the Enterprise-D - the Galor class from "Parallels": timeline erased at the end of the episode All the other times the Enterprise-D defended itself (Chorgun's ship from "The Vengence Factor", Gul Macet's Galor-class in "The Wounded", the Tamarian warship in "Darmok", the weapons smuggler's ship from "Unification", the Lysian warship in "Conundrum", DaiMon Lurin's stolen Birds of Prey from "Rascals", the Yridians in "The Chase", Baran's ship from "Gambit", DaiMon Prak's Marauder from "Force of Nature", even "All Good Things").... phasers only. One possible exception to this: the Echo Papa 607 from "Arsenal of Freedom". But Worf missed :)

Well Riker, that command at 4:09 you should have given in Generations, that old Klingon Bird of Prey would never had survived a combination of several phaser strikes and 2 rounds of 4 photon torpedo launchers. And no, for the purists around here, when the first Klingon torpedo went right through the shields it only impacted the side way of the connecting hull between the nacelles and the saucer section, so no reason why the Enterprise could not retaliate in full force.

06:30 Never understood this salvo. They have been at war with the Klingons for quite some time, they should have known that this has no effect on shielded vessels by then. And why don't they keep firing the phasers until those three little birdies are dust ? The Galaxy class vessel has how many phaser banks ? 12 ? All it can do is fire 3 to 4 shots and then has to wait for recharging or switch to torpedoes. And the Klingons? Are they bloodthirsty enoguh to go for the easy kill, giving the real threat here time to take out one of their ships? That's the enemy the federation is loosing against? yeah, no. so...alien spacecraft have demonstrated 'anti gravity' - like a repulsive magnetic field toward metal, but instead towards an approaching object. that said, can the force be so great, so as to deflect both light and matter? - apparently. (see Bob Lazar interview with Joe Rogan). this 'shields' concept in Star Trek may need a little work... but, i guess it looks better the way we do it on Science Fiction - as opposed to the real thing. i don't know how the American military captured so many alien space-craft. did they crash, or did they get shot down? - and exactly how do you shoot down an alien spacecraft? - more like they had problems, and the U.S. military confiscated the spacecraft from whomever. area 51. perhaps, given that it is now almost common knowledge they should move things away from area 51.
