SPOILER (Calamity mod Revengeance Difficulty mode's actual Inspiration/Reference) It is actually inspired from MGRR secret difficulty mode, the Revengeance mode. To Unlock Revengeance mode, you need to beat the game on Hard difficulty, and then Very Hard difficulty, or you can do the following: On the main title screen, enter the Konami code ( Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, O/B, X/A, Start ), then Revengeance mode will be made available as a difficulty setting.
I think you missed one from Calamitas Clone. This quote from the wiki states: "The quote said by Calamitas "Impressive child, most impressive" is likely a reference to Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, who says the line "Impressive, Jack, most impressive"." Edit: Alright guys, I got this STRAIGHT from the wiki. I am not a star wars fan, so I wouldn't know of this being a star wars reference. Tell that to whoever edits the wiki
It's still sad that Murasama got nerfed but at the same time, it's still good because we can still do a "perfectly balanced" damage to bosses which makes it feels like we're Raiden from MGRR. Rest in peace, old 20k dmg Murasama...
@@Delusion5 it's actually better than it used to be, they nerfed the health of bosses more than they nerfed the weapons so they are mathematically stronger
its just like in metal gear rising, as the murasama has an ID lock in sam's name as well and the lock disappears once you reach the final boss, similar to calamity where you can only use the murasama against the final boss(es)
I think you miss one. >When you fight yharon and he turns into 2nd phase the song from instrumental will become a vocal song like metal gear rising I hope next update they will add a QuickTime event when boss hp is below 0.1%😐
"Imagine a world, terrarian... Free of cancel culture! where no one can call me out for my outlandish claims! A WORLD WHERE i CAN HAVE AN ARMY FULL OF YHARONS!"
*Yharim:* "Well if it isn't the persistent Terrarian? Just a little too late, as usual..." *Player:* "Yharim! Impressive little bird you've got there, but your plan ends here." *Yharim:* "Idiot. You're not ending our plan, you're expanding it." would be cool if calamity added interactive dialogue
On the topic of the revengeance reference. It could be specifically referencing the "Revengeance" Difficulty mode in metal gear rising revengeance. It's less known as it requires inputting the Konami code at the main menu screen with Raiden. I'm not sure about unlocking it after beating very hard, someone could correct me on that.
DoG's "don't get cocky kid!" is a direct quote from armstrong during the Excelsus fight the Murasama also works exactly like in MGRR, only unlocking once you get to the final boss (unless you consider draedon a post yharon 2 boss)
Terraria fans when they realize moving pixels on screen you can control is like a video game, what means it is also a direct reference to the cult classic video game AMONG US. MGR is the new Jojo of our time.
metal gear revengeance got popular for no reason just like jojo (although im completely wrong with jojo as its cult following has lasted for at least 1 decade)
@@joedou7glas200 Part 3 and 5 were popular among the edgy anime fan community with Part 4 having the infamous DUWANG translation which was a kid trying to study his English. While ahhhh....Metal Gear Solid? The super mega popular game that revolutionized stealth games and cinematic flair in action based games that aren't fantasy? MGS3 being right there in RE4 where nearly none of the industry would be the same without it?
The MOAB item has the tooltip: ,,The mother of all balloons." It's a reference to a line Armstrong says: ,,Making the mother of all omelettes here Jack, can't fret over every egg."
calamitas is also somewhat similar thematically to jestream Sam, both being powerful, tragic villains manipulated into serving the big bad, and both being your rival
I finished MGR and went to this game immediately after for the first time and am VERY happy to see the references, didn't realize there were this many, some completely going over my head like the health bar and stimulants. Both games are fucking dope :)
I like to think that when Samuel dies by Raiden's hand, he somehow ends up in the Calamity universe as the new Champion of Terraria which, in a way, sorta makes sense lore-wise since Terraria is known for making universe collaborations like Dungeon Defenders and Don't Starve
The Line "Go to Hell" from Calamitas is probably a reference to Mistral's (A Boss in MGR) Line when she throws you off to the second part of the bossfight when failing to cut her staff in the QTE But again "Go to Hell" is an extremely common line in any game
Murasama is literally like the original. It's said that it cuts through nearly everything. So it does against DoG. Not even his high defense can stop it
A. The current placeholder for the Exo Mechs' theme contains a tidbit of Collective Consciousness (The song that plays during the MG Excelsus fight) B. (The obscure one) While Calamity's old future bosses were a thing, the future variant of the DoG, the Devourer of Universes could say the line "DOES IT HURT?" which may very well be a reference to one of Monsoon's lines
@@some_shitposting_idiot3023 if sequel will be even more insane than original... I JUST DON'T WANT TO FIGHT ANOTHER SAM FOR 2(more insane? whats 'bout 10?)HOURS STRAIGHT
the current boss music used for the exo mechs in the calamity mod music addon has a portion that sounds very similar to "collective conciousness", the theme of metal gear excelsus
Memories broken, the truth goes unspoken I've even forgotten my name I don't know the season or what is the reason I'm standing here holding my blade A desolate place (place) Without any trace (trace) It's only the cold wind I feel It's me that I spite as I stand up and fight The only thing I know for real There will be blood (blood) shed (shed) The man in the mirror nods his head The only one (one) left (left) Will ride upon the dragon's back Because the mountains don't give back what they take Oh no, there will be blood (blood) shed (shed) It's the only thing I've ever known Losing my identity Wondering, "Have I gone insane?" To find the truth in front of me I must climb this mountain range Looking downward from this deadly height and never realizing why I fight
Memories broken The truth goes unspoken I’ve even forgotten my name I don’t know the season Or what is the reason I’m standing here holding my blade A desolate place Without any trace It’s only the cold wind i feel It’s me that i spite As I stand up and fight The only thing I know for real There will be blood-shed The man in the mirror nods his head The only one left Will ride upon the dragon’s Because the mountains don’t give back what they take Oh no There will be blood-shed It’s the only thing I know for real Losing my identity Wondering have I gone insane To find the truth in front of me i must climb this mountain range Looking downward from this deadly height And never realising why I fight
I really like this, but it would be awesome if you made one for the borderlands games, considering there are a ton of ranged weapons that are a reference.
The actual inspiration for the scissor blades are the Rending Scissors from Kill La Kill, which looks closer to the actual weapon than sundowner's swords
Revengeance is also the hardest difficulty in metal gear rising. You can find it by either beating the game on hard mode or entering the Konami code on the title
The Exomechs Theme has a striking similiarity to Collective Consciousness, the OST that plays when you're fighting MG Excelsus. If you also sing along to the lyrics of Collective Consciousness, the song fits perfectly well with the lyrics.
The exo-mech theme is based off of "collective conciousness" from the mg excelsus boss fight and partially from "it hasto be this way" from armstrong fight
I know it's late, but i found 2 references, there are some quotes that Senator Armstrong says when fighting Excelsus, but theres a quote that says "Impressive Jack, most impressive" which is the quote that Calamitas says when spawning her minions, and a quote that says "Don't get cocky, kid" which is said by Devourer of Gods
Some parts of the Exo Mechs Placeholder theme are very similar to some parts of Collective Consciousness (Metal Gear Excelsus theme), such as 0:36 of ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eFLdPMjWy8o.html (Exo Mechs Placeholder) and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eOuqCJdNj_I.html (Collective Consciousness). For Collective Consciousness I've put the instrumental version so it's easier to recognize.
yharim's stimulants give you armstrong's strength armstrong gets his strength from his nanomachines judging by the name of the item yharim likely uses the yharim's stimulants yharim has nanomachines confirmed
I don't think anybody noticed this, but in the DOG fight, when he says "don't get cocky, kid" that is a reference to the MG excelsus fight, armstrong has a chance to say that while you are running up the legs to take it down
hoping they add a little secret in yharim fight where yharim can knock murasama out of your hands while also taking increased damage from it, disabling the lyrics for you until the fight ends or you get it back also maybe add a quick time but that's unlikely since calamity likes keeping multiplayer as multiplayer is
And you sturt jumping all over the world and dropping him face-down, or kicking him with lightning speed. Oh, good ol' man Sam on Revengeance difficulty.
In the exo mechs placeholder song you can hear the beat of thanatos. At 35 seconds in mg excelsus theme collective concinious you can hear the beat exactly the same as thanathks
There are also some quotes that reference MGR:R Here are 2 Examples Calamitas: "Impressive Child, Most Impressive." Devourer of Gods: "Don't get Cocky Kid!" Both of these are straight from the MG Excelcus Battle, the only twist in it is that Calamitas uses "Child" instead of Jack
it took me until a few days ago to realize that murasama and the name jetstream sam wasnt a reference to a terraria content trainer but a metal gear rising revengeance reference
I think you missed one from Calamitas Clone. This quote from the wiki states: "The quote said by Calamitas "Impressive child, most impressive" is likely a reference to Senator Armstrong from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, who says the line "Impressive, Jack, most impressive"."
You forgot about The only Thing I know For Real, that is another version of Murasama that is Reference not only to this Sword but also to Samuel's Boss Fight Music called "The only thing I Know for Real"
Inferior fabrications (exo mechs placeholder theme) has a section which is a direct reference to "collective consciousness" (metal gear excelsus battle theme), also while not technically from calamity, catastrophic fabrications (unofficial infernum exo mechs theme) has a section from "it has to be this way" (Armstrong's battle theme)
