Another removed feature. Maps used to have a feature in the past, if you bought a map (woods for instance) you could pick your spawn on the map, while also being able to see extracts. This worked in groups and Solo play. You could also draw on the maps marking high loot areas making money runs easier. Dont know why they removed the feature, it was pretty cool.
I think you can still mark on maps but the spawn feature (which I personally liked back in the day) was removed, also extracts aren't really shown anymore making maps ultimately pointless and a massive oversight as now the game has to be played with a website on at all times on your first couple of times through.
I’ve been saying this for years. Maps shouldn’t be individual items and be just integrated to the UI. Extracts and POIs should be marked on maps. It would save new players thousands of alt tabs tbh.
This alongside creating two servers for day/night really killed the game for me before the flea market completely buried it. I liked being able to choose my infil based on the mission I was doing (you know ...realistic) and have to adapt given the time of day. I had maps with stuff written on them one wipe cuz it was immersive and fun, but that just became useless and a throw-away item like a lot of other stuff
I like how, absolutely NO ONE talks about small details such as being abled to turn the lights off and on within customs dorms back in alpha, so many actual details that were removed, and none of this obvious things which was explained why and how
The asset developers are the real A team here. The game itself is walking away from release. They are taking more and more immersion out with more content/active players coming in. The dynamic loot wasn't for us. It was for their bad programming practices, dodging working on their inflating capacity issues. There used to be all kinds more loose loot, and even USB Flash Drives sticking out of the USB slots of computers. (Pointed upwards then removed from the game all together.) Recitals were beautiful. Scavs didn't operate on mass grouped state machines/NPC dictators like they do today. Swarming together after one shot goes off halfway across the map. (acted more independently, if anything were too accurate but you loved to hate it) Scavs didn't chicken dodge your aim, nor did they have a global sense of aimers looking at them. Getting good guns felt more effective and had value. As a developer of games since I was 11, at 32 years old today. I strongly believe that they have a big portion of the code locked down to a group of buddy buddies with Nikita that operate to keep a backdoor for cheat profits. This group's technical/programming skill has long been capped out, and is putting grief on both the asset development team / designers and their customers.
We must not forget that the game has been in development for 8 years, and was started by a relatively new team of developers who had previously worked on browser games. The game engine itself is relatively outdated, and I think that the problem is in the main code, which they wrote at the very beginning without much experience. And they had certain goals, but people came and asked to change something, they made concessions. Step by step and now we are here.
@@wcftstudio nah, billions $ and 8 years for grown and experienced developers to figure stuff put, guided by greed and fueled by lies. I'll excuse the youth, the elderly and the honest, not a whiney dishonest manchild waving stacks of cash and playing bs politics.
Back in the day, you could shoot a GL in the center of customs and itd nuke the entire map lmao. I tell people that story whenever they asked why gls were taken out for so long
When there was an event and the bots were running around with grenade launchers, I realized that this was just a terribly deadly weapon, not only against enemies but also against myself.
The new optics are more realistic than the old ones. As someone who does shoot real firearms quite regularly, real red dots are *very* clear and bright, and the optics themselves are very rugged and glare resistant, you definitely would not see that much glare on any decent quality optic (such as the Fast Fire 3 or the Comp M4, which i do have real experience with). Even the current ones aren't quite realistic, because the reticles are still too washed out, if you aim at the sky with clear weather the reticle often blends with the background, something that would absolutely not happen IRL since the reticle is very, very bright.
A lot of them are fairly accurate to real life, as someone that owns a Eotech XPS2 the sight picture in the game is definitely not accurate to real life though. Vudu is damn near identical though, they did amazing with that scope not gonna lie
some cheaper optics do have glare like that though which I want them to bring back, some of those older crappy russian optics with green/blue tints would be a good balancing factor for cheaper sights.
I really loved the old factory, where you could randomly break both legs by going up the stairs. With the amount of light there was, it was fairly realistic.
the developers have heard way too much to all those streamers that the game has become more arcade and moving away from the original idea, slowly all the features that made tarkov special have been disappearing.
Never had any major problems with pistols by the way, because I just usually didn't use them much 😂. It was more profitable for me to take the equipment from the SCAV, if I had no money.
This isn't a removed feature and more of an unfullfilled promise - but casual reminder thst we were promised a 15x15 (or 16x16 i dont remember exactly) open world map.
You can see a lot of things on TarkovPromiseTracker website, and yes, they promised to combine all the maps into an open world, but not all the maps have come out yet, unfortunately the process is stagnating.
the Glare was realistic Tho. if you're comparing the cheap Airsoft reflex sight with the real ones you will see the big differences. the cheap airsoft reflex sight was always glaring when reflected the sun light or bright object behind it, but... the real reflex sight don't and always has the crystal clear dot imaging.
It depends, some scopes use an anti-reflective coating, and the quality of the device affects it. But dust, dirt, scratches in combat conditions and constant clashes cannot be kept clean, just like the weapon and uniform itself.
1.0 is a myth until they release it, don't trust in whatever timeline devs release, remember how many times streets was about to come out and they pushed it many times.
at this point, does it even matter? Nikita will announce 1.0 just to satisfy most players, say they keep promises, the game is ready for launch, and barely anyone will ask if that is THE 1.0 that was more or less promised years ago Nikita shows his true colors in leaked convos, but then tweets a few questions and everyone is cradling his balls again
@@Mark-O-Vnah that shit just made me dislike him more he seems so desperate if he literally just gave eod everything and didn’t start yapping or talking shit everything would’ve gone away by now
I understand where you come from when saying this. But the writing is really on the walls with the changes they’ve been making at the speed they’ve been making them. Since the beginning of 2024 they’ve been openly discussing that they’re prepping for a 1.0 release.
@@willbyrn5920 Speed? BSG and "speed"? They've been discussing, openly, 1.0 and before that "open world/single map", "upgrading engine", "all future DLCs being part of EOD", and a plethora of other things.... BSG/Nikita talk a lot...before this shitshow, he barely posted on social media...now after being caught in RL time lying, the leaked convo showing his/their true colors etc....now "boohoo, this Chinese company is stealing from us" Both are scummy, and if they're going at each others throats, it is beyond hilarious to see the people being scammed by both, trying to defend either.
For the optics glass being clean, the user side won't glare. There's a coating on the lens to keep that from happening. For the dirt and grime, why wouldn't the soldier/pmc/scav/whatever keep it clean? Real life optics in the desert and jungle were never that dirty.
Optics are actually more realistic now. As someone who has handled a lot of firearms, the glass in these optics are very glare-resistant and are coated in materials that prevent dirt caking and fingerprint residue from sticking. The reticles should be noisier, though. The EOTech for example is extremely fuzzy irl
I love tarkovs maps and the huge variety of items. However, the pvp experience feels too arcade/cod like. Not as realistic as i expected. And the movement also sometimes feels clumsy and weird. teamwork, like i know it from milsim, is also pretty much non existent. Partially due to the free-for-all aspect and partially due to the community that isnt interested in real life tactics.
I feel like Squad has a realistic PVP feeling. But it's not Tarkov, you know. Now Tarkov is considered a non-casual and sub-hardcore game. Something in between.
@@wcftstudio unfortunately I don't enjoy this hardcore survival style of game and the PVP game mechanics(?) but BSG knows how to make awesome maps and it would be a dream to see their maps with other game mechanics and game modes
Once tarkov does full release, i wonder if they go through the route of squad and do everything as if it was still beta and use release as cash grab or if they will just abandon the game on release.
Because, i chose to not buy something i didn't want. And my life would be a living hell if i always thought about every purchasing decision that i rejected due to the low value. I see thousands of bad values and deals every year. My life would be a living hell if i just dwelled on those offers. I move on.....
I remember trying to ask if SPT-AKI devs would support the earlier versions of EFT and they all talked alot of shit about it, because "this mod lowers the flea lvl" or "this mod decreases recoil" no mf, I want to play tarkov back when it was an amazing game that you could get immersed in very easily
weird comments here. ppl say the want the game more realistic only to sit in the corner for 45 minutes. w key players are almost extinct and most people play this game like if they die in raid they die in real life what are you even complaining about guys.
I think Tarkov is in fact irreplaceable, and never has been. But I always faced some kind of discomfort, when I got older and I no longer had a lot of time, even going to a raid and waiting for 15 minutes became a big turn-off for me from playing Tarkov, because I want to relax in my free time.
@@wcftstudio spt with addons doing wonders for me. Since I removed inertia and made it gigachad and chad bots only Im having a blast. You can edit raid times and pause the raid and going into a raid only takes around 30 seconds so you might wanna give it a try.
They are making the game less realistic with the update. Not much of a "realistic tactical shooter" anymore. Why? Because some crybabies do not like a HARD and REALISTIC game, and BSG is collapsing under their will. They promised an extremely hardcore realistic game, and after 8 years of development, it's still nowhere NEAR realistic...(I am not talking 1:1 real-life realism; I am talking about an 8/10 realism which Nikita promised but did not deliver). And updates and new features aside, it is interesting how the core features of EFT are not fixed 8 years into development: 1. Sound (broken, too many bugs. Footsteps IRL can be heard max 5-10 meters away depending on the environment. In general, quiet sounds are WAAAAAY too loud, and loud sounds are WAAAAY too quiet.) 2. Movement (It is too fast. Characters never get exhausted, like muscle tiredness, not the stamina of one sprint. If you run 10 times full sprints with a 50kg backpack you will get exhausted and collapse. Parkouring on railings and in general with 20kg gear is stupid and does not belong in Tarkov, it belongs in COD.....) 3. Health system (drug addiction, irl most painkillers take time to take effect and effects are not "I can run with 2 broken femurs no problem" and if you take drugs regularly they lose effect and you experience withdrawal symptoms.... Surgery in Tarkov is only 30 seconds? WOW, take about being a high-class surgeon. Jumping from 5 meters with 30kg of gear and losing 20hp on each leg, IRL you would die or be handicapped for life, while in Tarkov you heal in 3 seconds....extremely unrealistic) 4. Netcode (slow servers, desync...) 5. Cheaters 6. Quests (boring, repetitive, some make no sense) 7. AI (they are dumb and aimbots) 8. Graphic (lighting) 9. Miscellaneous features like Open World, flashing the room before opening a door.... But, noooooo, why FIX THE BASICS OF THE GAME, when we can just give you MORE GUNS and P2W editions......Tarkov is going to die if they don't address the CORE of the game and make it MORE realistic...
In order for the game to develop further, it needs to be transferred to a new engine, and rewriting the code is less messy. But a very hardcore and realistic shooter, too narrowly focused, and it’s unlikely that many players would stick around, and this is first and foremost a business, unfortunately, nowadays no one makes games for the sake of a good game.
@@wcftstudio Yeah, unfortunately, that is the case. What I see, is they should add a wipe and a no-wipe account you can have. The wipe account would have more arcady (less realistic) features, and a no wipe account would be a real hardcore realistic experience. This will fulfill the needs of both types of players in the player base and make the game the way it is supposed to be. But still, all they need to do is fix the mentioned core issues and 95% of the player base would be automatically happy and satisfied.
@@leonlai8270 They should not have promised a "hardcore realistic tactical shooter" then. BSG said it will only get more hardcore and more realistic, but the opposite is what they delivered. That is my point. If you say something is really realistic and realism is what your game is all about, then make it as realistic for a game as it can be, not the other way around (which they are doing).
This might seem like a small addition, but it's actually a huge change. Imagine a PVP party against a party on the Lab, sitting in the corners for 10 minutes trying to shout at each other, and you finally kill one of the opponents, and he gets picked up.
Previously, I had a lot of time and it was fun, but now I have an hour or two a day and I can’t always devote it to the game. But in Tarkov I still have to wait 15 minutes for loading, collect gear for the raid, and then die in 2 minutes. So I prefer more fast paced games.
Prefiero el tarkov de ahora, mas realista. Si quieres un juego arcade anda y juga call of duty o la porqueria de fortnite. TARKOV IS FOR MANS NOT KIDS 😘
They’ve been talking about release before Arena Breakout Infinite showed their beta. I like ABI a lot, but it’s not Tarkov unfortunately. But BSG have to wake up immediately.
A lot of "This is unrealistic" stuff. Is not unrealistic, it is just competitive players trying to justify wanting tarkov more "competitive" I quit tarkov because it became a MLG shooter. T.T
@@wcftstudio not what my coment was about. I wanted the game to be like Arma, or Project Reality. Not squad 1.5 Hahaha But hey, that is about taste. I dont like this lizard brain "good plays" stuff. But more power for you. Kkk
@@okamaman7324what exactly was that when this game blew up in 2019. An absolute shit load of casuals and just bad players came around and started yapping. They became the vocal majority and BSG has been appeasing to them ever since. That’s why this game went from something increadibly special to just meh.
They’ve been openly discussing they’re prepping the game for a 1.0 release since the beginning of 2024. So yeah it’s gonna be happening relatively soon.
“Q: What part of Streets of Tarkov will be featured in the first iteration? Will it be downtown or a suburbs? What will it look like? And how many PMC players will there be in the first iteration of Streets? A: I want to say right away that we didn't plan to have the entire city even in the final iteration of the location. There will only be the most interesting part. The city itself is quite large, and we designed it in such a way that we could gradually expand the Streets of Tarkov. The first iteration will be the part of the location that's closer to the center, without the suburbs. Initially, the suburbs were planned as a separate location, but we decided to move it into the DLC.”
