I love the creepy organ sounds in Fusion's version of Ridley. Reminds you that you aren't actually fighting Ridley himself, but a clone of him that was killed and mimicked by the X parasites.

Holy shit I just realized that the Ridley theme in brawl used his theme on the offbeat and it's so cool. Say what you want about brawl as a game but it's soundtrack kicks ass.

Ridley is an amazing villain, and most people don't realize how psychopathic he is. He just loves being mean-spirited and evil. The Metroid manga shows him toying remorselessly with a young Samus Aran and, well, he murdered and ate both of Samus' parents when she was a 3-year old girl.

i adore what they did with ridley in samus returns musically as it feels like a great final battle with him and a culmination of past fights phase 1: its composition is heavily based on super and prime 1 its sound resembles mecha from zero mission and has some slight cues from other m. phase 2: fully embraces the prime 1 rendition in sound and composition phase 3: tempo and main composition now resembles fusion but still has prime 1 phrases in it too.

Metroid Other M has led me to believe Ridley is secretly a Pokémon, he’s just in an entirely different area

Technically, it wasn't his battle theme until Fusion. Before it was just the theme used for the area you find him in and then it was just a theme used for more bossfights than just him, as well as the escape sequence.

The prime Ridley theme is GOD TEAR and also the Other M for me

I'll say this much, Other M's version of this theme is probably the best one BUT Super's version will always have a special place in my heart as it is the first version I ever heard since I played Super as a kid. Sure in Super it was just a generic theme for some of the bosses but it was cemented as Ridley's theme in Fusion and quite honestly it fits him pretty well.

Interesting how the Ridley theme we know and love wasn't really a thing until Super Metroid; normally, iconic boss fight tracks like that are established in the very *first* game in the franchise, like Nightmare, the Vs Dracula phase 1 boss fight track in Castlevania.

Ladies and gentlemen, we now have the 3rd major Metroid title to NOT have a Ridley battle. You'd think for being the end of this arc Mr. Riddles would've come back for another iconic fight. But I guess he loaned his resurrection pass to Kraid.

While purple is most common I notice Ridley doesn't really have a canon color scheme.

I've only ever played the original Metroid and it was just for a tiny bit but one time my friends and I were trying to make our characters in smash ultimate become huge so we made our dudes big, have only big mushrooms come on, then I played as Ridley with taunts on so that I could do the standing straight up one. Then we played some and I started to like Ridley and I played as the robot ones and would call the purple robot one when I made it huge "Supa Mega Mecha Ridley Mark II" and now I have found out Mecha Ridley is a thing.

The themes of Ridley-X and Omega Ridley do one hell of a job changing the whole vibe of the battles and driving home just how much Ridley's been changed for each--one is a full-powered mimicry (maybe that's why he screams so much) and the other is Ridley on a Phazon-induced rampage (a lot les flying and more close-quarters combat and getting right in Samus' face).

Brawl's is the best one. The music transitions of it's characteristic parts flow smoothly, not in a interruption manner like the other ones, while not beign repetitive.

I wish that zero mission's Ridley theme would be a combination of his Iconic theme and his first appearance theme.

I think the best one was the metroid theme.

I hardly believe that thay can actually bring back the original and true Ridley back to appear on Dread, not even as a boss (maybe an extra and optional boss battle out of the main campaing), because [SPOILER Alert]: . . . . . . . . The real one seemly died on Super Metroid and its remains perished with planet Zebes destruction, later on Other M, it was somehow cloned thin Bottle ship, beaten by Samus and had his lifestream fully sucked-up by a cloned Queen Metroid (also lately beaten by Samus) and bottle ship got destroyed, his clone's remains reappeared on another Federation's BSL (a large research facility located on SR388's orbit) on Metroid Fusion, kept on a cryogenic chamber to stay still (probably for further analysis and another attempt of cloning him as a bio-weapon under their control), but inevitably got used and discarded by X ( whom mimicked him), and got beaten by Samus, BSL eventually got its flight coordinates reset to reach down SR388 annihilating both the station and the planet with its threats within. So, unless Federation bring another Ridley's clone out of nowhere, I can only think of the real Ridley reappears only on flashbacks.

i dont know you all but i belive that even when the music debuted in super metroid, the game that make it sinonimous with Ridley was Metroid Prime, with Fusion being just the "other" confirmation for it, sincee both games came out like almost the same time...
