That solo is simple but definitely not the easiest thing in the world. Kossoff's vibrato is just wicked. I have no idea how he did those high bends in the upper registers with such control on a 50s Les Paul.
Dude you nailed it………….I’ve seen hundreds of guys try to play this song and didn’t come close……….You have the ear ….it’s a gift………….Keep on rocking………….Peace
killing it!!!!! great tone......thought the best was zep,,,,since i've been lovin you....absolutely brilliant......i need a lot of practice to get there
Hey, thanks a bunch for the compliments. I actually learned a lot from SoloDallas when it came to my vibrato. I'll try to do a tutorial. The one thing I can say now is that Angus Young's and Kossoff's vibrato is such that when you bend up a whole step, you almost let the bend down ever so slightly and then "wiggle" between that slightly flat note and the target note. It takes a lot of control, and I'm still working on it.
I recently started playing the Electric after years of Acoustic only and I have to say this video has inspired me! To me it's all about a good vibrato, and you my friend have it in spades! Good shout on SoloDallas by the way.
Woooow that was amazing. Btw @ your video description "I have no idea how he did those high bends in the upper registers with such control " maybe try a lighter gauge string?
Angus Young and Paul Kossoff's vibrato's are (to my mind at least) the benchmark to aim for. The two solo's Angus takes on the live version of "The Jack" from " If You Want Blood (You've Got It)" have the best vibrato ever put on vinyl!
No, it's the Line 6 Tone Port UX2. I've used that for all my videos in the past year. Now the device is called the POD Studio, and you can get the cheapest one, the GX, which is good enough for just guitar, for 100 bucks, software included.
