Weighing 32-0-20 in C# (Taylors Of Loughborough 1957) Note the wooden-shafted clapper and the clapper turner. -Recorded in the ringing room from the television linked to the bell-chamber cam
You see, The tenor went up wrong due to the tongue falling, and if you wait till the end, you'll see a wooden "arm" that catches and switches the tongues position so that the tongue can fly instead of fall, But once the tenor is lowered, The tongue WILL Go back from flying to falling
Change ringing bells of this weight are sometimes very difficult to ring up with the clapper on the leading side. In Most cases, it's easier to raise some bells and then flip the clapper over to the right side.
It is just easier to ring it up without bothering to make it strike correctly on the right side. Then just use the clapper turner to correct it. It can be done correctly but takes 2 people usually.
