All Samsung Galaxy Phones: Black Screen/ Cant See Screen / Display Not Coming On? 

My phone is literally just stuck on black. I heard the vibration that it made when it powers on, but i can't see anything. Plz help

started with 1 minute and now im on my 10th hour.

i feel so bad with people who try this and won't work,, fortunelly the method works for my case.. i hope the phones who still can't work find other way on internet to fix it

Thanks! worked great. It didnt work when i only held it for a minute, so I stuck a piece of tape on the power button and left it there for awhile :)

I did this with my s5 and half way through it slipped out of my hand and fell on the edge of the concrete stairs and smashed the screen into little pieces...thanks man now I'm up for a couple hundred bucks for a new screen

Yeah, I broke mine and got it fixed about 2 weeks ago. I had to take it to a phone repair shop and get the screen replaced. The screen now looks and works good as new again.

you rock man, got my phone turned back on, it was android Galaxy s4 and it was stuck on reboot mode. used the step press volume up power button for 10 sec. I had pics of a family member that passed away. thanks to you(Not Verizon technician)....... I got them back. I took phone to Verizon in my hometown and he said it's fried man. so I bought new one. thank you. question for you.... how can I save my pics on new phone so I don't have this problem again? thank you.........

This definitely works each time I have the "black screen of death" on my Note 4 (Sprint); however it is not a permanent fix. I have to do this at least 10x a day. I have heard it has to do with the marshmallow update.

to those people saying that this method did not work, maybe it's because the problem is your phone's lcd. you might need to replace it with a new one.

went on the beach an took my phone out for a min to just climb up on a rock to take a photo n a wave splashed against my pocket and i can still receive calls etc and i do see lights and the samsung picture came up an then everything went blank..screen is dark and i am frustrated hoping i can save this phone....
