@@nobodyasked5091 I know you finished long ago but why? Why would you spoil for yourself or are you into that? Some people actually like spoilers, personally not a fan. I'm ok with tiny spoilers but not major plot points
It may be belaboring the point a bit to say so, but for me, it's so emotional because it's Adora well and truly stepping into _her_ power, rather than into a preconceived role carved out for her by people who wanted to use her.
@@giasca Season 1-4 : Adora borrows power from SheRa to save people she loves Season 5 : Adora makes that power her own to save people she loves, once she realises that she is SheRa
@@heaveniridescence6993 bruh in 5 she summons her sword she means in the new transformation she has the same hair but longer ponytail and she didnt exactly borrow it she kept getting visons about it so she found it and got caught by glimmer and bow
I love that, in the season 5 transformation, her tiara flashes with Catra’s headgear. It’s a nice nod to her loyalty and commitment to her lifelong friend.
I feel like the first transformation was more of "I am Shera and Shera looks like this" where as the last one is way more along the lines of "I am Shera but I can be a different kind of Shera" .... Am I the only one who understands it this way or no?
no it makes sense, cause for season 1-4 her power came from the sword from season 5 it comes from her and as a side effect her design incorporates bits from all her friends catra's head gear becomes part of her helmet, glimmer’s wings on her shows and the heart from bow
You’re 100% right. The first transformation was based on how the sword was programmed to present shera. After Adora broke the sword and started fighting for love she truly became her own shera
Catra really doesn’t blush a whole lot, so it’s suuuuuuper obvious something is up if she does. Like there’s no way to pass *that* off as anything other than her being totally into Adora.
i came here after seeing a comment about her new design taking inspiration from her friends... and girlfriend. i mean, the wing shoes thingy from glimmer, the heart on the chest from bow, and geez the look she gives when the head piece appears (inspired by catra most probably) HITS DIFFERENT
Then it’s like sparkle, sparkle, dolphin… sparkle. I get shoes that are slightly better than my normal shoes, then my hair does this thing where it looks all messy, but it’s actually, like, really super beautiful.
In order, the general vibe is: - transforming into She-Ra - highly trained warrior; very minimalistic - transforming into Adora's version of She-Ra, not the First Ones' warrior
The change in her costume is beautifully thematic. At the end, when Adora accepts she deserves love and friendship, that she is more than what help she can offer, and she stops emotionally holding the world at arm's length, her outfit changes to incorporate the most iconic parts of the outfits of the three people most important to her - Glimmer's shoes, Bow's heart, and most of all, Catra's headpiece. I love it when a show is so well done that even the costuming tells a story of it's own. It's so rare to see anything made this well.
I guess. The first is the theme of Adora inhabiting the spirit of She-ra. So the image is about what She-ra *ought* to be. So with design and the 80s theme. The second is about Adora being Adora with She-ra's power. The design and theme are personal. Her gear reflects her love for her friends (if you look out for the stylistic light projections, it confirms this), and the music is not shackled by being 80s style. The music is just also epic, and this sequence comes after a tense arc of wondering if she'll ever be She-ra again (of course she will, but we get invested in Adora's doubts). That's my reading into why the second one is received more favourably.
I think that it was amazing, all the people that gave her hope and inspired her! Wings (Queen Angela and Glimmer), Heart (Bow), Arm piece (Mara) and crown (Catra), Honestly I didn’t even notice until i read these comments
Love the detail that when she transforms using the sword, it sounds more electric because of the first ones’ tech, but when she transforms without it, it sounds more magical
No kidding i think its the horn composition that does it, it feels like EVERYTHING coming together, they have everyone back, they are going home, its time to send a message
There’s just something about the final transformation that’s more organic with Etheria’s magic compared to Mara’s and Adora’s first transformations that were controlled/influenced by First One’s tech.
Right. The S5 version i feel is more genuine, as it feels more like adora, but with the power from the care she feels for her friends and how they shaped her. (Aka glimmers boots, bows heart design, catras helmet design, and other refrences to mara and shadow weaver) I just love the S5 she ra design more in general.
I just love how Adora in her second transformation stays Adora, as opposed to her earlier one where she basically lost herself in the persona of She-Ra. Those little things make this show so amazing for me.
Fun fact: in the last transformation, she ra's costume took designs from the best friend squad, bow's heart, glimmers small wings on her shoes, and catra's helmet.
It looks much more unique in all honesty- it feels more like adoras transformation, it shifts with the care for her friends incorperated in the outfit. The og is cool but its not unique to adora, it doesnt feel like her. The S5 she ra feels like adora, but is boosted
Everyone mentions how the season 5 tranformation has Catra's headgear, Bow's heart, and Glimmer's winged shoes but no one mention how she has Mara's pants.
I feel like in the beginning Adora was like “okay this is she-ra” but then Adora was like “okay I am she-ra” if you know what I mean, I really don’t know how to explain
Not at all, I was going to make the same comment, actually. It's kind of a nice blend between the original She-Ra transformations and the Sailormoon transformations.
Jerrypie I also noticed that the Sailor Moon references are more pronounced in the newer sequence, where her costume even forms in the same order (boots, gloves or armbands, body, tiara). This also seems to coincide with She-Ra becoming more than a warrior, but a healer as well. Remember, she HEALED Horde Prime out of existence, a very Sailor Moon thing to do.
@@kunolacarai ohhh that's such a good observation!! and yeah her poses also became more sailor moon like and more feminine and I think healing is a veery feminine thing to do (side note: I don't mean only women can heal cause femininity =/= being a woman, men can be feminine too)
Fun fact: The first time Adora is able to transform without the sword is on Beast Island. At that point she was able to break through to She-Ra without the sword. You can tell because her eyes turn blue when she transforms
I love that season 5 She-Ra is a projection of Adora's feelings, and she has details from her friends, like Glimmer's boots, Bow's forearm metal band? and Catra's headpiece.
There's just something about the sounds, like when she slams her fists together, the movement, effects, that just lends Adora this sense of real power and weight. Very VERY good magical girl transformation.
Maybe it’s just me. But Adora going from a ponytail to full on longed ridiculous looking hair is hilarious to me. And I don’t know why. I do like her season 5 transformation though.
I've seen this spoiler before I even watched the series But yeah I shipped them from the beginning and I literally SCREAMED when it happened I love them so much😭💖
The first two transformations seemed as if they were only slightly changed for the sake of being comfortable to fight in while the last one not only feels comfortable but personal.
Personally I prefer the first She-ra's transformation because it seems more creative to me: The way she joining her hands to make her armor appears and then how she's lifting the sword at the end is so cool. The others have a really good design and the animation is good, but I still love the first one. (Its my opinion, if you're not okay I think its interesting if you share why you prefer the others!:D) And sorry for my english Edit: Okay I just found of that Adora added some "friend's stuff" in her 2nd transformation, and I have to admit: ITS SO COOL
So uh fun fact. The new she-ra’s crown represents catra’s old headset thing, the heart thing in her chest represents bow, and the boots represent glimmer
