Slytherin: 'They are evil and they all are death eaters, they will kill you.' the targeters said. Ravenclaw: 'They are nerds and only study. They are top of the class and show off.' the targeters said. Hufflepuff: 'They are too shy and they are just thrown in that house because they dont fit in any other house. They have the lamest professer for a head house.' the targeters said. No house should be treated like this. It's unfair and rude.

I’m a proud Slytherin and this does not change how I feel about my house. But it kinda hurts my feelings.

When I was first sorted, I was convinced that I was going to be a hufflepuff but I became a slytherin so I researched the house and became very proud of my house. I think everybody should stay proud of your house no matter what J.K Rowling says

J.K. created Slytherin to be the hated house with all the evil characters, but she wrote it so well that people came to love the house and the characters. Gonna be honest The first time I tried the test and got into slytherin I was bummed I was like 13 and f r e s h and I wanted to be a gryffindor But idk after a few months I started leaning into it and guess what happened I started to be less unsure of myself, my anxiety didn't dictate my life, and I grew to love snakes and the color green Being a Slytherin, even if it's just a fictional thing written by an author who's been repeatedly shooting herself in the foot, really did some positive things for me and honestly I'd rather be ambitious and cunning than brave. I've taken the quiz many times since then and I'm proud to say I got slytherin for most of them (with a few sprinkling of ravenclaws in there fyi)

Even as a Ravenclaw, I get annoyed when Slytherin is classified as “evil”. I mean, come on. Even if a lot of them were death eaters, it’s because Tom Riddle, a very persuasive and charming young man, had more interaction with them. And their ambitious trait, which IS NOT A BAD THING kicked in when Tom stepped in, offering them power. Which is only what ~some~ of them wanted! Honestly, it’s unfair.

Slytherin house is terribly mistreated in the series, like when there's a quiddich match EVERYONE is against slytherin, WHY??? Also, in the Gryffindor Vs Slytherin match, the slytherins where all cheating and that's no sense, being ambitious doesn't mean you're going to cheat to obtain your wishes. Not to mention in the last movie when Pansy says something stupid and McGonagall send ALL the slytherins away, and then NONE of the slytherins stays to fight, I think it's ridiculous, how can there be not a single one staying to fight, it's so clear JK hates them. You know what, if people at Hogwarts all believe that if you're a slytherin you're automatically evil, then of course you're gonna stick to your house and since no one there accept you, you're easier to recruit for evil people. Ambition and cunning are literally the traits of almost every successful person ever. Ambition makes you work hard, and working hard helps you achieve your dreams.

It's funny how JKR defines herself as a hufflepuff, who are known to be fair, honest, accepting, and genuine, but yet she totally contradicts those traits when she shows her hate of slytherins and when she makes up crap in her tweets. I'm also right in between being a slytherin and ravenclaw, but I think I lean slightly more to the ravenclaw side.

Yeah during that time period Slytherin’s had a lot more pressure to choose evil as we saw with Draco but that doesn’t mean they can all be classified as evil. Merlin, Albus Severus Potter, Regulas Black and Slughorn are a few people I can think of off the top of my head that choose good for example. Other houses were also shown to have evil with Peter Pettigrew, Quirrel and Lockhart. To be honest the Marauders were bullies at one point, or at least James and Sirius, so you could even include them. Slytherin’s are ambition and will do anything to get what they want whether that is trying to take over the world or eating an entire pizza because someone said they couldn’t. Yeah they could be more prone to evil if their ambition is obtaining power but not all Slytherins could possibly be like that. For example just last week I took a quiz and was determined to get a certain result because someone said I couldn’t. My ambition was to prove them wrong because they challenged me. Good and Evil is everywhere and anyone is capable of it no matter the traits they value or have. Rowling just needs to stop before everyone turns against her

I remember when I thought Slytherins were evil, then I actually read the books.

It makes me so sad that Jk can just basically ignore a big part of her own fandom. So many people love the darker part of the wizarding world, and she acts like it’s a bad thing. I was sorted into Gryffindor and the dark arts are one of my favorite parts of the books. Also, There is nothing wrong with being ambitious, or cunning. She never should have said she hated one of the houses.
