Same! My older brother got it on DVD and that’s how I saw it for the first time. There was a certain magic with those Raimi films that we’ll never see again. Not perfect by any means, but had hell of a lot of more heart than the vast majority of these superhero films these days.
@SpiderManSpiderMan Absolutely, Spider-Man 3 was my favorite movie as a kid, and I kept begging my mom to get the other 2 on DVD and I have watched the trilogy countless times. These movies are ageless.
Same, oh my word. My favorite Spider-Man movies. I was almost 10 years old and on a commercial flight to California when they put on Spider-Man 3, which had just come out that year, just a few months prior. During that movie, it was the moment I decided Spidey was my favorite superhero. Was obsessed after that, lol. Couldn't get enough of those movies. The Amazing Spider-Man films hold nostalgia too, as I was in my mid-teens when Andrew came swinging onto the screens and became and instant fav. But Tobey was my childhood favorite. Tom had to grow on me, but he has definitely earned his place as Spider-Man in my book at this point.
I grew up his spider man but now that I’m older I appreciate Toby’s Spider-Man a lot more than when i was a kid, Tom hollands is still really cool but Andrew Garfields Spider-Man does really feel like Spider-Man to me any more
Oh you mean like Spider-Man into the SpiderVerse but Andrew and Tobey was older , so basically Tobeys dimension he was the first Spider-Man . Andrew his dimension he was the second , Then Tom Holland who is 3rd Yep also Tobey is oldest and Tom is youngest
The dude had to appear calm. But to lose a role of a superhero you really admire and WANT to play is heartbreaking. He was an actual fan of Spider-Man, hence why he was the best portrayal of him. Can’t say the same for the other two. I can’t see anything other than a big fat check that convinced Tom. Nothing against him or the decision, I just think the studio lost sight of these characters.
its kinda sad when you think about it . having to play the role as a superhero that you really admire , you give all your energy to it , but then people hate it and blame you . but the truth is that he tried to give us the spiderman we wanted and he did , but for some people . he was just given bad scripts . playing spiderman also broke his heart
@This Is What Awesome Looks Like he doesn’t suck, that’s a opinion based question, Andrew, Tom and Toby I think did a amazing of a freaking job doing the Spider-Man role or character and nailed it, Tom was supposed to show a younger side in the superheroes too
Danny Elfman's (Sam Raimi’s) is definitely the best. The rhythms of the composition is first like he is crawling on walls, then it becomes like he is swinging in the air, yet it is still mysterious. After that you hear the villain’s theme, implying danger. The beautiful thing is, each villain has his own composition in between Spider-Man’s theme. Ultimately, it becomes a heroic sound of triumph.
I like Maguire's theme too. Tbh holland theme kinda took the cake for me, you can feel his journey and relatable inexperience, but tobey and TASM2 come in second
Just think, there’s 3 generations of kids who each got to grow up watching their Spider-Man 😭 And now they all get to come together to see them all together on the big screen. Truly a magical moment! Everyone’s heroes together at last 🥲
I ended up growing with Tom and tobey and I just watched the new one one tic tok believe it or not some live stream played it and I’m just blown away great to see tobey and Andrew in the suit again one last time before everything unfolds and I wish I could go back to the day I first saw the movie 😭
It was really interesting for me to watch the new movie. As a now 17-year-old kid, I grew up watching tasm when I was 7/8 years old. I'm the middle generation of the three and it was cool being surrounded by fans both older and younger than me, who all experienced different spidey's and now came together as one to experience the amazing movie which is nwh. There was a row behind me who knew everything that was going on and had insane reactions to Tobey because they grew up watching him, but on my left, I had a puzzled 7-year-old kid who kept asking his mom questions, because he is growing up with tom. The perspective on these generational things is insane.
ME!! I was 16 when Spiderman came out in 2002, I remember waiting in a long line that went out onto the street 😂 Fell in love with Andrew in 2012 (my favorite spidey) And now 35 and got to watch it all come together in the multiverse! Was amazing 🤗
@@issatowers2934 I was the exact same way. Honestly loved Andrew's performance from the beginning. Perspective from the others really is a funny thing, because I felt odd when Tom was introduced, same way some felt when Andrew was first introduced. But now I honestly love them all.
Tom and Tobey are my most favorite actors to play the role, but I feel like Andrew gets too much hate. He's a great actor who's dreams of successfully playing such a character we're crushed by lousy script writing. edit: Lads, we won. we got what we seen in our wildest dreams, and i can now do what aunt may said all those years ago. die with pride, thanks to spider-man.
ZAM SPARKLE he already was in my opinion but he played a different version of Spider-Man which I preferred. He didn’t play a dorky nerd with no social life and wasn’t really that smart and he didn’t play a 5 year old kid in a teenagers body who always needs Tony Stark to be with him because he isn’t independent and he’s not mature and he just is a bad Spider-Man. He played a cool kid with a social life with friends but also with problems and issues and to be honest I feel like he was balanced quite well. But nonetheless Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is played by someone who thinks his Spider-Man is the best by all the flattering on the internet and also with a bunch of directors and behind the scenes people who don’t understand what being a teenage boy is really like and just want money and are lazy.
Final Buster yes but we’re talking about Spider-Man, not a high school movie. Andrew just doesn’t fit Spider-Man, sadly. Maybe if he played an older, more mature version of Spider-Man. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is just ambitious and always tries to be the hero, which is what I like about him. He also needs tony stark but that’s changed now and he is going to be more important (if the trade deal thing actually works out, which it probably won’t)
McBOSS T. Duck Yeah but Tom Holland is still a wannabe-hero baby and not a hero man. (Spider-Man). Spider-Man doesn’t need Tony Stark. I feel like Spider-Man from Spider-Man PS4 was the best interpretation of Spider-Man.
@@lillanky Andrew was getting to that point of maturity , after all, he graduated in the 2nd one, the third probably would've had him in a spot similar to where we first find Peter in the PS4 game.
@@buggyraceryt1192 I mean, you can fight which Spider-Man is the better version and all, but you can't deny that all of them have a pretty sick themes. Heck, I don't know of a single spidey version (animated and games included) that has a bad theme.
Harleigh Quinn yeah. He’s definitely not bad. If he were the only spiderman, or the first at least, I’m sure people would love him more. It’s just that since Tobey and Tom are just monumentally better than Andrew, he’s the one getting all the hate.
Tobey and Tom are better how? As a long time reader of Spider-Man, Andrew portrays him the best. Tobey is second. Tom doesn't show anything true to Spidey. MCU isn't giving him a chance to show off his genius intelligence or quippy attitude.
@@HalfBoiIed you actually make an interesting point. I knew Toby was a better Peter and Andrew was a better Spider-Man, and I felt like Tom was a great balance but it didn't occur to me that he doesn't show off the Peter intellect and charm, or Spidey's jokes
@@luckyman4906 lol people still think Tom is better than Andrew I don't wanna compare but you did so... I mean.. Best Peter Parker-Tobey Best Spiderman-Andrew Tom holland- ...........Mr stark..🥺
Dude, Tobey’s is simply the best. Idk if it’s nostalgia or whatever but it actually slaps. The others are great too but Tobeys just makes you wanna do some heroic shit
Tobey was the better Peter Parker, but Tom Holland was the better Spider-Man imo... also, in terms of themes, I'd say Tobey obviously had the WAY better one, and then Andrew, and then Tom last.
I love Danny Elfman's theme of Spider-Man! The Sam Raimi Spider-Man films will always hold a special place in my heart and soul!! I also love Spider-Man Homecoming theme as well! Very hopeful and upbeat!! :) 👍👍🕸🕸
Tobey's theme: most emotional. You can feel the underlying pain and sadness. Andrew's theme: the most triumphant-sounding. Tom's theme: most cinematic. It fits in with the MCU.
@@deliriousgeorge2879 tbh no, the only pain in andrews part imo is gwens death and uncle ben. I always thought tobys spiderman was slightly more sad, andrews spiderman just has bad writing its not sad (atleast tsam 2 has bad writing). I think the description matches perfectly. Theres a bit of sadness in Andrews theme but I think theres more in Tobys
Danny Elfman's Spider-Man theme without a shadow of the doubt is the best one, the others are good to great but Rami Spider-Man's theme is one of the most iconic scores in recent film.
@@danceswithcomicbooks7733 1) doesn't need an explanation 2) It's an involuntary embodied reaction when experiencing awe which is a feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder
I grew up with The Amazing Spider-Man and whenever I heard the theme song it just made my heart flutter! They are all are so beautiful if that makes since but it’s so nice to know I’ll be able to see them all together soon :)
I don’t know what you’re betting but give it up. Tobey didn’t do much. Spider-Man was always a household name. He did fine, but he wasn’t a great Spider-Man.
While I love Maguire's version, he simply was the reason that the addition to the MCU was so delayed. If the original movie wasn't made, then Sony would have lost the rights to Spiderman, and Marvel would have gotten them. Also, Garfield's version is the reason he is in the MCU, as the critical failure of that movie(and the email leak) caused the addition to the MCU.
@@maiiiyaxox While Maguire is great, he wasn't the thing that made Spiderman a household name, as at the time, Spiderman was the only hero who could rival Batman and Superman in popularity.
Andrews Spider-Man made me cheer up when things went bad at my old house as a kid . And someday I hope I can help people just like you .love from me to you . 🕷️🕸️💖
I know im 2 years late but i agree with yout, not only andrew tobey too, Tobey was there for me when i was very young, andrew motivated me more than tobey when i was a teen but tom meh..
Tom is my favorite, he will always have a spot in my heart. But andrew and toby are also awesome people who have been crucial to the birth of spider-man.
@@dantewong5111 bro why tho? If you don't like him, good for you but calling him the "worst" is just wrong. Every criticism I've seen of Tom's Spider-Man is either superficial, or invalid. I think he's definitely one of the best Spider-Men we've ever gotten especially after NWH.
@@dantewong5111 its a matter of opinion its not a fact i liked Tobeys spider-man the most until Spider-man no way home i won't say spoilers but see the movie, now i'm sort of confused between the 3,Andrew really did better in NWH Tobey was still the same because he was the perfect peter Parker in his movie and i have to say Tom's spidey went high up in my respect so i have to wait till the next tom holland movie to find out the best one
@@m_tcustoms people think that Tom's spider is the worst, because he's like living in the shadow of ironman, without iron man's tech, Tom's spidery is basically nobody... Like in the first 2nd movie, when stark takes away his suit " Mr stark please im nothing without that suit".. That's why some people hated Tom's spidey, he's just a kid with a pure heart.. But tobey spidey on the other hand is a grown up man, facing his problems and his enemies with his own strength and will, you know as a real superhero
I remember playing Tobey’s Spider-Man movie over and over again as a kid. It is and always has been entertaining for some odd reason, probably due to the early 2000’s cinematic graphics.
Did you realize that the beggining of Holland's theme is like the "reverse" of Maguire's theme ? (Hollands theme is a ascending arpeggio on a major triad, though Maguire's theme is a descending arpeggio on a minor triad) I don't know if Giacchino made it with conscience (i think he definitly did) but thats awesome
My childhood with Tobey My teenage with andrew And now My adulthood with Tom Finally got to see them sharing the same screen this is the best thing song and marvel has done
Tobey's feels like a small scale superhero stepping up to do huge superhero stuff. Andrew's feels like an emotional depressed teenager who tries to reach his dreams and goals everyday. Tom's feels like a friendly neighborhood teenager trying to save all the little civilians while the bigger heroes save the universe.
My broke up into tears while watching Tobey getting so old in Spiderman NWH 😭😭, man the one and only my first even favorite superhero and hero in my whole life after seeing him so long back made my eyes filled up with tears 😭
I was born early 2003 and i grew up with tobey i watched spiderman 1,2 all day every day and then spiderman 3 released and i watched it in the cinema i was the happiest kid alive
I see many people saying that Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland are their favorite versions of the character. I prefer Andrew Garfield and I feel a little bit alone. Is there somebody like me who likes the Andrew Garfeild version better than the other ones? XD P.S: I grew up with Tobey's version, I loved The Amazing Spider-Man and I think Tom Holland has a great potential. So I like all of them but I prefer Andrew P.S#2: RIP Stan Lee
Netonyax I was playing Spider-Man ps4 and I think that that is my favorite interpretation of the character so I was watching the amazing Spider-Man and thought to myself Andrew Garfield would be perfect for a early to mid 20s spiderman and the Amazinng Spider-Man 2 wasn’t that bad better than Spider-Man 3 and TAS suit is my favorite
The theme from Raimi's trilogy is the best becauss the structure of the music is so dynamic. When listening to it, it feels like a journey with a full circle story.
Oh my God, my knees are weak whenever I hear the original trilogy's theme, it is so iconic it has become a classic.. Other upcoming spidey's theme will try to top one another, no doubt they might succeed, but Tobey's spidey theme will always have a special place in our heart ♥️ "With a great power, comes a great responsibility."
Toby was great at acting, especially at drama, andrew is the coolest of them three, because of the way he swings and fight, tom is the cutest and funniest, I dont know, because of the way he talked 😂 but ofcourse the original is the best. All of this is my opinion only
Everyone is saying Tobey / Elfman music is their favorite but honestly my favorite is the MCU Spider-Man score. It's just got such a more distinct rhythm to follow. I feel like i can hum his theme way more easily. It's a nice, spindly little spider-esc piece of music
Elfman's soundtrack can be applied for anything else *World's shaping *World's cup *Universe exploration *Industrial evolution *Any sort of drama story will be fenomenal with this soundtrack What's about MCU? I guess you know the answer.
@@akinkinalexandr5672 yeah, but I don't want Spider-Man's theme song to be generic enough to be applied to a whole bunch of other random things. I want it to be distinct and unique, with the feeling that it is truly just Spider-Man's theme
people born in 2000 - 2009 are tobey maguire people born in 2010 - 2014 are andrew garfield people born in 2015 - present are tom holland (btw i was born in 2006 i am tobey maguire
Spider man 2 best main music that could brings so many memories 😢 When I was kid i really wanted to be like spider man swinging web , getting the girl , saving the day from villains like venom , lizard , doc-oc , rhino. but that well not happen only if im a genius who can create the web swinging but im not *only China is*
Tobey was really great at being peter parker, andrew was great at being spider man , and tom was good at both in my opinion . All of the actors are talented so can we just not fight over who was the best spider man? Lets just appreciate the fact that these people brought this legendary hero to life
Tom Holland has the energy, personality, and higher stats. Tobey has the best written story. Andrew.. Uh no clue.. Tell me something about this guy the others didn't capture right.
The Amazing Spider-Man theme (end titles) is the BEST, but the main theme of Sam Raimi is *BEUTHIFUL* La canción del final de Amazing Spider-Man es la mejor, pero el título principal de Sam Raimi es *HERMOSO*
Danny Elfman: full of optimism and motivation, but having to take responsibility seriously, along with personal struggles. (The iconic themes says it all.) James Horner: the feels of more tension, emotional in-depth, somewhat dark and gritty, but a prosperity to show that there’s still light at the end of the tunnel. (The themes feels more triumphant.) Michael Giacchino: energetic excitement of feeling youthful, and having fun, although still boundaries, and being able to make promises that can keep. (Really feels cinematic.)
