I feel like it’s mildly disrespectful that winners from international seasons be featured on normal All Stars. It’s almost minimizing Venus’s win by putting her on a normal All Stars as opposed to an All Winners imho
I mean it’s true. Every single person on that cast was likable and brought something special to the table. If they just let them all do drag race together a second time I’d be cool with that 😂
@@ZTomiboi I somewhat agree but I think it’s mostly to blame on the production riggory and the 10 thousand non eliminations, neither of which the cast is responsible of.
ehhh, I would like to have growth of atleast a few years versus coming right back. I think it makes for a better season and cast versus just seeing them and having more just an extended run of their original season aesthetic and personality.
I'm sure she's a very lovely person. Sometimes Drag Race doesn't mesh well with a queen's talents. Really wonderful artists (and decent people) like Jaremi Carey might seem horrendous if you judge them on DR alone. Whether that's the show's fault or the queen's is a question for another time. Niceties out of the way, Tina was one of the most forgettable queens to last eleven episodes of Drag Race (longer than many seasons). When the most memorable things about a queen are "dated Graham Norton", and ""made Rose look batsh!t awful in the makeover" as a viewer you're not itching for an AS return. Maybe she'll return and absolutely slay it. That'd be rad and good for her! But we're not talking about a Monet x Change or Mo Hart situation where the raw talent was demonstrably there, but it was more of a $$$ issue (with e.g. Monique having to stay up all night to make S10 runways and literally having her electricity shut off before she left). TB's whole DR package was crunchy.
@@dante6985clearly not that memorable of a thing (I remember myself fyi but then I'm British), because both of today's hosts seemed convinced Tina dated the other RPDR UK judge Alan Carr rather than Graham Norton. To be fair to them, Tina makes waaay more sense as a partner for Alan than Graham, when you remove the "was a young twink in a pop band at the time" factor.
This format seems risky. In addition to it just being difficult from a storytelling and audience investment perspective, it burns through so much of their all stars bench. Who the heck are they calling for all stars 11, 12, 13 after this?
I loved Visa, too!! Also, I wasn't as excited about AS6 as I was some other seasons and it became a favourite. Hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised.
This cast has changed more frequently than MIB’s eras. I’m sad that we lost some real heavy hitters from the initial rumored cast (Peppermint, Tatianna, Morgan, Coco) and I don’t like the overloading on recent seasons. There are so many deserving queens still from earlier seasons that I would love to see back or return again after a previous AS: Dida Ritz, Lineysha Sparx, April Carrion, Joslyn Fox, Thorgy Thor, etc - we don’t need six S14 queens and Ginger (as much as I love her) returning for a 4th time.
I’m not convinced by this setup. Either it means that they will be repeating challenges for each group which will feel repetitive, or it means that some queens won’t get to do the different challenges, which will feel like we are robbed of seeing some of what they can do.
There's one season 13 girl I would die to see on my TV again and that's Utica. Have you seen what she's done since her season? Her fashion has been insane. She even got a museum exposition for her looks.
While it is strange to see a winner in the mix, I’ve always wondered that winners of non-English speaking franchises don’t get enough exposure. Ukvstw and the upcoming global all stars are showing us international talents while the winners are nowhere to be seen. We all know about Marina Summers and La Grande Dame but do people actually know about Precious Paula Nicole and Paloma?
I just thought about this: Given the format described, they could do a potential “Battle of the Eras” with the groups based on the Logo, VH1, and MTV eras with the international queen mixed in. Not a fact. Just a thought.
I wont say her name, but I met and talked with a Drag Race Queen 2 weeks ago at my local bar and she confirmed that the rumored tournament style season for AS10 was true and the cast size is true. And I’ll add that she spoke as if she was confused why drag race would do that and why queens would agree to it😂😅
I think it would be good to have themes to the 3 groups. Like early outs Phoenix, Maddy, Irene, Alyssa you could add Derrick to that also. Villains: Acid, Mistress, Irene,Gigi, Daya.
Miss Madeline Morphosis on the list?! Yes to this. I wasn't a fan of theirs on their season but Give It To Me Straight got me hooked, their fashion is much more elevated than when they were on the show (matching the looks of the guests former looks has me in stitches), and then the rap battle with Bob the Drag Queen? Their verse was ten times better than most we've had on recent RPDR seasons. I will however say justice for Dita Ritz and Joslyn Fox. We need them both back on our tv.
A tournament style All Stars 10 could work. Say they had 20 contestants. They could start with three groups, with the first two weeks release three episodes. Then split the smaller group and merge them with the two larger groups.
I think all stars 10 will be the last all stats season for quite some time. Especially if they add 20 queens in the mix. Dare to say that the whole usa franchise will get revamped after season 17
Really hope we get to see more of Visa, she's very carismatic and has great references! Truly fell in love with her, I hope she becomes one of the regular guests :D
is it ok for me to ask: why bother tucking for youtube? none of us would even know! and we don’t care because we love you all so much, tuck or no tuck. show name suggestion: mangled mera-mories
is it really too much to ask for a cast of mostly older season girls. I need to see Dida ritz, april carrion, adore, tatianna, asia o hara, etc back on my screennn.
The format reminds me of American Idol in the way of there being the tryouts and first going to Hollywood and whatnot. I feel like it’s gonna be really good. And it means that the queens can budget costumes differently depending on if they make it through the rounds.
No to Phoenix Yes to Betty A major YES to Gigi Not sure about Denali No to Olivia A major NO Tina A major NO to Bosco, Daya and Alyssa H A major YES to Kerri and Maddy A major NO to MIB, Salina and Irene A major NO to Aja and Derrick A major YES to Ginger. No to Venus
I have 3 small problems with Venus being on this list. Firstly, a winner on a regular all stars just feels wrong to me. Second off, she JUST came off her season! It’s way too soon. Third off, it honestly makes it seem like competing on another country’s season is less impressive than american seasons. Like the only people ‘worthy’ of US all stars is an international winner. Especially since there are so many great canada queens who would be great on an all stars season. (AURORA MATRIX AHEM)
i think ALL STARS and HALL OF FAME recipients should be two separate entities. there are so many queens who deserve to be in the HALL OF FAME just because of their history in the show. queens like Latrice Royale, Manilla Luzon, Angina, Raven, Jujubee and so many others. yet they're not there and more recent queens have a chance to be placed in there. it should be kind of like the ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME where the recipients are there because of their past contributions to the music industry. there is no reason why Shannel should have to compete to get in. i mean she was the first queen ever to walk into the Werk Room and that alone should give her an automatic placement in the HALL OF FAME. they can still have ALL STARS but give the winner something else other than the HALL OF FAME.
You guys might've missed it but Jorgeous is also apparently on AS10 (there's a rumored AS9 girl, MIB drunkenly said once Jorge is on AS10 with her, she has gaps in her gigs that would match Group 2 of filming)
AS 9 isn’t even over yet. I ain’t got no time to think about 10. Lol! Why do they feel the need to be the first to release information that isn’t confirmed and that they don’t know if it’s true or not? 😂
I don’t mind the no elim format, but I think instead of having the winners cut someone, they should be given the choice to pass the power to cut someone to the other top all star. It would create so much drama. Imagine the team/drama that could form. That way, they don’t have to rig the wins for storylines if the girls know how to wreak havoc.
If they're doing multiple groups why not do it big brother style or those idol group shows where they do one or two episode to determine if you're on the top or bottom team. Then across multiple episodes the top team and the bottom team compete and people get shuffled up or down every episode so only the top team gets to continue the last 3 episodes maybe. That way its kind of a no elimination in the beginning but half of them get cut near the end but we still see them fight for the top spot and showcase what they got.
Aren't they filming now? Ginger Ming & Tina Burner are performing in P-town all summer several nights a week, and Salina Estitties is there this week Jul 3-6.
Alexis, eureka, jujubee, and soon many others will return for the 4th time. So what? I don't mind Ginger getting robbed of the crown again. Atleast she's talented
I have a theory about the "glamour toad" entrance outfit. In the past, sometimes celebrities would purposely try to get on Worst Dressed lists for publicity. I suspect that was her thinking.
just have all 20 queens at once but 2 go home a week. maybe during the week have 2 seperate challenges and have a mini challenge to where they land for the challenge. each episode is 2 hours on paramount lol
