Beth...thank you for your vulnerability and honesty. I am so sure that you have helped others dealing with similar difficult situations. You are such an empathetic soul and so far from a failure. You gave this child a gift in that he is finally getting needed help and still close to his family. You haven’t abandoned him. Much love from your RU-vid family!

I'm glad your family is safe. What you have down for your brother in law will hopefully put him on track to a better life for himself. It takes a lot of love and compassion to be able to get family members help that they need. Maybe one day this will allow all of you to have a positive relationship. You have given him a chance. Oh and your dog is so cute!

Wow... prayers for all of you. It’s so difficult to accept anyone extra into your family, and to have difficult emotional issues along with it makes it even harder. Don’t beat yourselves up over this. No matter how much you love someone , you can’t love mental illness away. God bless you. So thankful that you kept your family safe. I love you, friend!

I am so sorry for all the pain and strife you all have been through. I've had someone in my life who had similar troubles as Michael, and it is so so difficult to figure out day to day, moment to moment, what the "right" thing to do for them is, because it can literally change a hundred times a day depending on how their mood is and such. But I just want to say that it sounds to me like you and Ryan made the absolutely best decisions that you could. Also, I know it's tough in a situation like this, but please please, show the same kindness to yourselves as you have done for Michael. You are NOT failures here, not in the least. I 100% agree with you that this was by God's design, and you did exactly what God must have intended ... you showed Michael love and caring and empathy, and then you got him the help he so clearly needed but maybe never would have gotten for himself. If you did what God intended, there is no possible way you can call that failing. Much love to you all, and you will be in my prayers

You are a very strong woman. Thank you for letting us in and sharing with us. You did not fail, you got him at 16 and he already had his problems. Embrace your husband and the two of you may want to go and speak to someone about this. If you want to talk, feel free to email me. We had an issue similar to this with my family. Let me know if you would like my email address.

Let me just say I totally can relate I'm going through a similar situation Michael knew if he said he wanted to kill himself because he knew he would wind up in the hospital ...you did the right thing he belongs in a place where they can give him intense therapy in a therapeutic setting you can't get him what he needs the window of opportunity is really gone now that he's 16 it should have been done when he was 13 and under it's rough but you can't risk your son your dog yourself your husband what medication is he on by the way.... Stay strong

MJK98 Thank you! My husband and I have said the same thing. We WISH we had taken him a long time ago. We actually went to see him today and he seems to be doing really well. The facility is amazing! ❤️

People don't understand unless they experience it's like you go through this battle but you don't want to put a bad product out in the world and you don't want him to hurt himself or anybody else so it's a hard decision to make but you have to leave it to the professionals and as long as you don't abandon him and let him know you care that's really all you can do don't feel guilty because you do an Injustice by keeping him in your house it's no life for him God bless I wish you well

Such a sad story but he had all the early signs and behavior or a serial killer. Psycopath in the making.
