We have finally done it! Our first Striped Marlin! We left Tutukaka Harbour as dawn broke. Steamed out past the Poor Knights and were immediately greeted by an abundance of life. There was lots of activity and lots of bait. Initially it came in on our shortest corner, hitting the lure, it them popped over to a freshly rigged Bonze BTK in 'KARMA' and smashed it! After an attempt of bringing it in we finally had the bill which took just under 20 minutes. Tagged and released we watched it swim away happily.
On the way in we stopped and dropped some jigs on some pins and got smoked by a big king!
Was an awesome trip out with plenty of memories made!!
