If only Nintendo can make something as BEAUTIFUL as this...again

The Lumas risking their life for the safety of the galaxy is probably one of the most tragic and heartwarming scenes in Mario history

Rosalina: "I will re-visit this planet once every hundred years." Yet still has time to go to currently 5 kart races, various amount of sporting championships, help Mario and friends in 3d world and participated in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Either Mario and others age really slowly or Nintendo is just a bit..... forgetful. (I'm glad she's in all those though.)

Mario: *spends days to save Peach and set everything right* Rosalina: “im aboutta reset this man’s whole timeline”

The opening cutscene is surprisingly intense for a Mario game. I know it's just Bowser kidnapping Peach again, but it's with a more epic and cinematic twist, and the cinematography and music makes the scene much more suspenseful. I was on the edge of my seat when I first saw this. I was like, "This is a Mario game?!" If an animated Mario movie were made, it would probably suck (I hear Illumination is making one, and... yeah), but imagine if Super Mario Galaxy were made into a movie. Expand on the plot a little, and it would be pretty epic.

-Airships actually acting like Star Destroyers -Luma’s sacrifice -Suspenseful scenes -The emotion -The animation quality -A very original plot These are few reasons that make Super Mario Galaxy way better than the sequel.

Rosalina is such a badass character.

Wow. I forgot how utterly gorgeous the game looked. And to think that the cutscenes were all pre-rendered...

The way Mario and Peach twirl to show each other's love for each other is amazing.

The letter from Peach in this game has to be the longest line of dialogue I have EVER heard from her.

You know I learned something after graduating from school. You know when the grand stars go to the core engine of Rosalina's starship? Each color of the sun (grand star) represents the temperatures cool-hotness and planet that Bowser had was in age gap of begin placed in like of the black hole. If it was the other way around, instead of his planet turning into a black hole, it would be a neutron star. I know this sounds all nerdy of me but I just wanted to share this with the rest of the world.

I'd like to imagine that this is where all the spin-off Mario games fall into the timeline. Rosalina resets the universe and creates a world where everybody lives right next to each other as begrudging frenemies, and they start inviting Bowser and friends to sports games.

This was the closest Mario could get to actual dynamic storytelling aside from the RPG games, and I love this game for that sentiment.

This was one of the best games from 2007. Gameplay and graphics wise.

Even if i played the second galaxy game first I think this is a masterpiece! The best ending ever in the whole main franchise. I cried a lot in the ending every time:)

The way Peach screams 'Mario!' when he gets blasted off into space and the Luma chases after him always gave me goosebumps.

When I was 9 years old, this was my 4th Mario game... I knew that this was going to be an epic journey. And oh boy, it WAS! BEST MARIO EVER!!!

As a kid I never understood the ending as a 10 year old when I beat the game, but now I do. It's a birth of a new galaxy!

As I tried in vain to avoid the welcoming arms of the black hole, I felt Luma skirting out from under my cap. It floated in front of me for a brief moment. It then spun, sending out a ring of sparkles, before turning and flinging itself into the midst of the gaping void before us. I saw every other luma do the same. Each emitted its last scream; they were not of defeat, but of victory of their sacrifice. The lumas looked like tiny glowing dots forming a circle around the black hole. All of a sudden, everything was sucked in before I even realized. I could not see through the piercing darkness. I closed my eyes, the cries still ringing in my ears.

I wish the Mario movie was just like this. With the same tone and everything.

Thank you, I was looking for a good quality version :) Even the light story in this game is loads better than the no story we get in newer ones. Hopefully they decided to put a tad more emphasis in the story.

For me 5:22 is the best. It feels like for the first time Mario is taking the fight to Bowser with the help of Rosalina. This cutscene is just epic

I wish Nintendo make Galaxy 3 personally, and this time, both Roselina and that purple luma guy aiding Mario from the very beginning, and seeing more history on these two characters as well as how these lumas came to be.

The lumas charging toward the black hole hits me every time.

WARNING: SAD ENDING

This game was the first thing to give 7 year old me what could have been classified an existential crisis. This also was the first game that made me cry. Kudos to you nintendo.

The first time I saw the airships in the opening cutscene I had a huge blast of nostalgia of super mario bros 3 come at me. Nintendo seriously needs to remake all the 3d mario games into one all stars 3d package on switch. It would be amazing.

Este juego me gusto mas y me causo mas impacto que el Galaxy 2, porque es mas emocional, tiene mas y mejor historia. Rosalina tiene un gran debut aqui y los dialogos de ella son muy bien diseñados. El galaxy 2 me gusto mucho porque es una digna secuela de este juego, tiene muchos niveles nuevos y cosas nuevas. Pero el Galaxy 1 es mas interesante y tiene mejores cinematicas y mejor historia. Tiene un inicio bastante intenso y buenisimo, y un final emotivo y muy intenso tambien para un juego de Mario, el Galaxy 2 en cuanto a historia se queda muy corto para mi... Se que los marios no se los caracteriza por la historia sino por jugabilidad, pero desearia que nintendo volviera a darle mas profundidad a las historias como en el Galaxy 1.

I remember when I was younger I went to my Grandma’s house and watched old Super Mario Galaxy videos on her phone because I never even played the game, and I would watch them all day, and then I fell asleep. I woke up hours later and my Parents were still there, and we went home… Good times.

Call me crazy but there are some Star Wars references in Mario Galaxy. Bowser wanting to make his galactic empire. The ships are star destroyers and Rosalina's observatory looks like Could City.

Was Mario...okay in that scene where the castle was lifted? He seemed like drunk or something, and the way he reacted to the oncoming magikoopa attack was kinda...out of character, he just stared at it in horror, was he like, panicking cause he was in space and wasn’t used to it? I didn’t really get it.
