Thanks for the video and your commentary. I presently own a ZO6 and find it hard to believe 400HP more and the added TQ coming to the car. The Tq. management in first and second gear to stop wheel spin must be amazing. I just hope like you they make this car for 2 to 3 years. I've been on my dealers list for almost 3 yrs. @@thereissomecoolstuff My Z06 and E-Ray allocation came up on the same day. Let them pass over me on the E-Ray and got a Z06 for now for the sound. E-rays are such a slow roll out that the Z06 showed up within a few weeks. E-Ray that went in in my place is looking like another month. Wanted to get a few good car events in while its still summer. Will reveal the car on the channel next week. You got an insider update haha
The turbos on the ZR1 are pretty unique too. Custom joined with the manifolds to fit snug inside the engine bay given space constraints. The engineering into this car is insane
This car is spectacular, and I’m sick of hearing it’s a Chevy or whatever. This is competing with the revuelto, turbo s, gt3 rs, gtd whatever and honestly might be faster than all of them. It’s a flagship supercar and as for performance whether it will be faster then the gtd and revuelto is to be detrimined but I think I can guarantee it will be faster then the gt3 rs etc. I mean there is a lot to look up to with these super cars we got coming out. And I hope that this car doesn’t get marked up to the moon, and either way it’ll still be cheaper then the rest of the competition
Totally agree on the comparison. Lambo is absolutely shaking in their boots. They are coming out with a twin turbo V8 Huracan.....if they come in weaker then the ZR1 then embarrassment. If they try to beat it, they have to make a Huracan that beats their flagship twice as expensive reveulto. Its a lose lose for them now. Sadly this car will get marked up beyond logic. Hopefully GM does a 2-3 year run and makes a lot of them
Its knocking on that door. More HP then a Pagani Utopia which is a statement on paper. Obviously that car out performs this but this is upper upper echelon supercar. Better numbers then a Reveulto or 765LT from whats been released.
The sf90 is going to walk the hell out of the zr1. How did corvette manage to make this car heavier than the sf90 when it has a v8 twin turbo set up, 3 electric motors and awd. Zr1 is so over hyped the hp figure is impressive but this car needs to lighten up about 700 to 800 lbs to really beat up on the newer super cars and hyper cars.
While I do love the corvette, If GM says this car can comfortably get under 10 seconds in a 1/4 mile. They may want to go look up the Demon 170 which does below 9 seconds stock. Which also has 1025 hp and 945 ft.lbs of torque. I fully expect this corvette to compete with that, or GM wasted their money developing it. Weight isn't a big deal here, its the same weight as my Camaro SS just has about 400 more HP and 300 more torque. :(
@@larrynewberry3500 And I saw a Demon 170 at the drag strip I go to on stock tires pull low 9's. Doing below 10 comfortably is not impressive for a 3600lbs car with 1000 hp and 828 ft.lbs. I've seen 900 hp cars 50 years old do that at my drag strip. For the price they are going to charge on this ZR1, I better get a reach around while I am driving. Especially since there is a 600lbs difference between this ZR1 and a Demon 170. And granted maybe GM is underplaying its performance. Which I understand, but I would not go around saying a $200,000 car can't beat a demon 170 when it is almost $100,000 more expensive. Now if it sets a new record at Nürburgring then MAYBE it'll be worth the extra $100,000. But, for that to be a viable argument it better beat that 2018 ZLE on the same track by a measurable margin. Otherwise people are just pissing away money on the thing. Apparently the previous year ZR1 set a 7:12 at Nürburgring which is only 4 seconds faster than the 2018 ZLE.
@@Fluke2SS Not to start a pissing contest, but the Demon is a straight line car only. The vette can go both very comfortably, especially on road courses.
@@larrynewberry3500 And it should, but then again so could the Camaro 1LE's and ZLE's, for a fraction of the cost. Like I said, bragging about a $200,000 car better have something to back it up. And GM saying "below 10 seconds" is not impressive for the price to performance ratio. Basically these cars are for people with disposable income. And what is it most American car enthusiast say? "Built not bought" And to build something that can do what this ZR1 can do is a lot cheaper.
