Targas and Cabs are pure heaven when you're on a rally. The sound of all the Porsches around you running at redline, the exhaust echoing off the mountains, it's just extraordinary. People are so excited when they drive the Speedster, but you can get that same open top fun for much less money
I just missed out on this one but managed to get the Triple Black 997.2 Stealth and am thrilled. Thanks Raj for another informative video which makes it easy for us Porsche aficionados to be more aware.
Thank you Kevin! Shame you missed the Targa, it is now residing in the Lake District. Enjoy the stealth 997.2 S you purchased from me, that is a special car indeed! Raj
Thanks so much, just have a new one in stock, this time a manual 3.6 with PASM! Video of it here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kV_BizDYBBU.html Thanks Raj
HI Raj loving the video i became a proud owner of a 2010 911 Targa in Arctic Silver on March 20th 2021 i get such a buzz every time i drive it Regards Paul Luton
Nice practicality for the targa , you can put a dog in the rear space no problem. I thought the glass mechanism would slide all the way back , but it's alright i guess .
Hi Giui, thanks for your comments and yes it does add practicality for sure. I totally agree also that it is a shame the glass doesn't slide all the way back, but space is limited to make that possible. Thanks again, Raj
Great review Raj, these Targa's are becoming more and more hard to find, especially with the PDK Box, they seem to be jumping up in value more than ever
Ha! I did think of you buddy when I hit 'publish' at 8pm, honestly it is coincidence, I hoped to finish this one days ago but a few new purchases got in the way! ;-) Enjoy and thanks for the support, Raj
Hi Raj! Thanks for a great video! I have a question: the airee feel with roof and windows open = on scale 1 to 10 (1 = coupe, 10 = cabrio with roof open), how would you rate it? And how that feel compares to 991/992 Targas? I am currently looking for the weekend car (together with my girlfriend, even though she is not that big of a 911 fan I have to say :D) and the 997 Targa looks like the ultimate choice. Girlfriend wants to have more practicality (luggage space above all, maybe even seasucker bike racks) but at the same time I would like not to sacrifice too much from my open-air experience / "summer getaway" feel requirement. Targa looks like the ultimate compromise, but I am not sure about the Targa roof = whether it gives you at least some of the open air experience or it is just a lure which in the end leads to a coupe roof experience.
@@happyswissjoe thanks for the comment! I actually managed to buy Targa - three months ago. Overall, I am very happy = I love the coupe-ish shape and the hatchback mechanism. Already took it out for camping trip and it delivered! The open-air feel is somewhat compromised by the large roof pannels / rims, but is still there (would rate it 6/10). To be honest, I gradually came to conclusion that the open roof is not this super killer useful feature, as on the hot sunny day, you will get your skin hammered by sun; and on rainy day, you really appreciate the glass roof. So far extremely grateful / happy with the 997 Targa shape!
Hi Raj. Very nice video.... I live overseas and there is a 997.1 version for sale here .... 128000Kms... Full Porsche History..... Fully loaded, short shift etc Sports seats...Bose etc etc no smoke on start etc. They want £33,000 for it.... Worth. it? or Avoid? Really value your opinion mate. Cheers.
Hi Albert, I don’t know for sure but would imagine the Targa glass rear panel would be expensive, worth calling a Porsche dealer. Alternatively speak to a detailer to see if they can polish it out for you? Cheers, Raj
