One of my favorite things about you is that you are so open to so many different genres and are so enthusiastic about each one. I also love to read pretty much anything, so your videos give me the opportunity to find a lot of new books to add to my (already much too large) collection. Thank you for your wonderful videos!

So happy to see you! I'd love you to start with 100 years of solitude, it's one of my favorite reads of last year! Don't be scared, it's so diferent to anything else you've ever read, fun and crazy and symbolic, I think you'll love it! It's not a book you can binge, you'll enjoy it a lot more if you take your time, not because it's hard to read but bc there's so much happening. Enjoy!

One of my top priorities was to read Flowerheart by Catherine Baker, which I got last year but didn't read; I've already finished it, and I absolutely loved it, which is an unpopular opinion I think. I also want to read A Fragile Enchantment, The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels, The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, Garden Spells, and Anne of Avonlea.

🍊 Hey Lexi! You always have the best recs ever!! I am really excited to read Evocation by S.T. Gibson. It’s all set to release May 28. Also, Ghost Station by S.A. Barnes will be released tomorrow. I am so excited to read it because I’ve read Dead Silence by her and I was frickin’ hooked. 💜

I just finished Garden Spells last night. It was v good! I thought Practical Magic was ok, I personally wouldn't compare the two. What elevates a book for me is when the ending is as good as the guts. Very few books do that IMO. This one wins. 🍊🍊

🍊 🍊 I'm a mood reader too! Right now, I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out what to read next. 😂 As of today, I think I will read "Dial A for Aunties" by Jesse Q. Sutanto, "The Fraud Squad" by Kyla Zhao and I will finish reading "A Lady's Guide to Marvels and Misadventures" by Angela Bell. There are more books but those are the three I'm leaning towards. I will see what mood I will be in, in the next couple of days! 😆 💕

Am so excited to talk about Unmaking of June Farrow in bookclub - I inhaled that book - recommend folks don't read reviews or even the synopsis because of spoilers! I am in the mood for all the nature books this spring - hoping to get to Braiding Sweetgrass, any books about birds, The Essex Serpent - and Libby says only 3 weeks for my audio hold on The Husbands - that one looks like a delight! 🍊🦊

I totally understand being scared to read certain books, mine was Anna Karenina, but then I realized ONE I may actually LOVE it which I do and TWO it’s a book which I don’t mean to sound trivial. I just told myself to take it slow, try my best since it’s not a race, use my resources to help with the reading. I had a breast cancer scare last year and that scared me more than not picking up the book which spurned me on…that and, as a mood reader, I just thought I want to do this! Good Luck and I can’t wait to hear about your journey! Oh and The Art Thief is just incredible🤯🍊🧡

If you don't mind me asking, which translation did you read? I tried listening Anna Karenina a few years ago, but couldn't get past some of the translator's favorite expressions. I'm glad your cancer scare was just a scare.

I can lowkey give you a game that does give you horror spring cottagegore stuff. Strange Horticulture has a demo you can download to see if it is for you. You play as horticulturist collecting plants and using them to air the people around you, or further your own agenda. You get a plant book to classify them, labels, and a cat that you can pet. There are also witches in the woods, a cult brewing, and murders occurring. Another game that goes down the road of cottage gore is Bramble: the Mountain King. This is a horror game based off Norse folklore, but it is not plant based but it is set in a forest and there is blood and gore and mythical creatures trying to eat you. It is stunning, has a fantastic soundtrack, and I think you will love it. You also play hide and seek with gnomes and get to ride a hedgehog through a lake.
