The longer front travel also helps to keep from upsetting the chassis. Like you noticed, when the car hits the end of travel, it spins. That's because the rear end unloads, having longer travel and slowing the front end down a bit allows you to hit the end of that travel gently and keep the chassis planted
When I was on a race team… they used similar setup but would strap it to control max travel distance…. Just after I posted this you mention travel limiters.
No. Only bc I have motor mounts not a mid plate so that would drop the engine, turbo & everything down & im sure I’d have clearance issues bc it wasn’t built around that. But now, I don’t have this set up, I have actually long travel DA struts.
Thank you man!!! Exactly what I needed because yes Turbojohn just kind of glossed over it. Watching this in preparation to do it to my fox now. Because yes, she is totally running :)
Did you bend your struts running these extenders? I’ve got mine set up the exact same way and it keeps bending my struts but I had the ride height to low and it was bottoming out
Nah never had them issues but I seen your post this morning on the group. That’s the problem with the strut spacers, you have to have the front end high & looks goofy.
@@BmoreFox it’s just hard to belt hat bottoming out should bend struts, the pick I posted was what came on my car. The ones I just bent aren’t near as bad. Do you street drive with yours?
I know it's off topic but I'm interested in buying a VS 7875 t51r for a 6.0Ls, what was the AR of the one you had? The biggest one they sell is a 1.28 V band, what do you think for a 6.0 street/strip?
The extension will help but it's not all about that! Your typing the shock out and unloading the rear... you need to slow the shock down!! You need to tighten up the front extension. Strange shocks are junk. Get afco or viking double adjustable
Nice separation! Here’s a tip about ramps and jack stands. It can still roll if it’s not in park or in your case you had the trans out. I usually face one ramp the opposite direction of the other one. Helps keep it from rolling away. Of course you can’t drive on or off so the car has to be jacked up.
The trans is in the car right now & in park. Also just temporary. It’s usually on all 4 jacks. Just not in this video lol. Thanks for the heads up though.
