They said that at one point but haven't said it again. I don't think that would be effective either, because think of where you would need to be in order to hit a ladder or the capstan. Either everyone will see you using it, or you're standing on an empty ship
I appreciate the clarification on the Grapple gun. I attempted the same thing in the comments section of the actual update video only to get nothing but “Lalala I can’t hear you it’s still broken it’s still broken and I refuse to watch the news update video that clearly tells us what exactly the harpoon can do and how not broken it is” in the replies
Yeah, and if you don’t see that you see people saying that it is completely useless and that rare shouldn’t be adding useless items. Don’t know why people say this since it is definitely going to be useful, but not overpowered
They pretty much hinted to us what made it was when they first talked about a blow pipe a long time ago when they first introduced the harpoon gun. They mentioned in a previous video. It would be cool to have a blow, dart that you could shoot the anchor and they would mimic the sound of the anchor dropping. I’m pretty sure they hinted it already and that’s what it’s going to be.
all the probs for the intro and outro 🤣 im really looking forward to this season, it's a lot of stuff to just fool around and have fun with. and the grapple gun on reapers hideout will be just awesome
the green coloring of the mimc dart makes me think that if you hit someone with that dart, theyll see you with a green name, or one of your crew, hence the term 'mimic' would suck for open crews, but an easy take if you know your crew well enough
as comments have said already but mimic dart is the sound thing rare anounced same as peope carrying you aboard ship while in chest form which both seem to have vanished from rare mentioning them now

The world is better off without you and you know it’s true.” How was Captain falcore supposed to defeat this??? “Of course!” Captain falcon said, remembering Harry Potters one true weakness: He had glasses. Since he was a Jedi now, Cappy falcon used the force to lift the nails out of his hand. He stood up with joy. He took out his captain Falcore themed flame thrower and doused the child in flames. When the job was done, the falcon man had won. But at what cost? In this impulsive action, the falcon man had caused the melting of the ice caps. In just one week, Sanctuary Outpost would be underwater.
I love the hiding inn chests, reminds me of the box from metal gear games. "Huh, what was that noise? Oh,.. just a box". Im also curious if the grapple gun works like a mounted harpoon gun and can pull players or is it just loot and regular terrain?
As someone who puts loot in the captains quarters, I think it would be neat if we had the ability to lock it up and have a key on us. Giving ability to sneak up on player to swipe the key or just kill us for it to unlock access to loot
My concern with the new additions is for console players such as myself. Many seasoned players such as myself have already assigned hotkeys with remaining buttons so that food and planks can be accessed quickly. Now add the new sneak function, ok well I will use A/X in order to assign this as that's just swimming up....but, now what about changing ammo type for Blowdart. I have no way unless I assign over one of my already used hotkeys. What I would prefer is that it is the same as using bait on a hook or changing shanty where your normal equipment wheel can be used and then there is a second wheel that can be accessed. Another option is a tap and hold. What I mean is, the reload button can be tapped to reload quickly, if held instead,it brings up the ammo wheel. Both of these options would work and also mean that console players who have limited buttons available don't have to rework their whole controller binding in order to fully appreciate the new weapon. Also (Mimic ammo, keep us updated 😂) Great video ty

Little nit pick but the grapple gun kinda kills the skeleton throne challenges because i remember how difficult some of those chairs were to reach but now it seems like you can just grapple there in seconds
It’s the mast a vertical spot on the ship you can hit with the grappling gun and if you don’t think people won’t hit it because it’s a hard shot you are mistaken.
So what they've done now is make it more easier to steal than to actually do any quests, I mean soon people will just not bother anymore going for quests as the games given every advantage to just steal loot
Ngl at 3:35 this looks a lot like AI: the font is inconsistent not in a hand drawn way, the line work on the darts starts and ends in a similar way that AI tends to replicate, especially around the meeting point of the feathers and shaft of the mimic dart the way the lines sort of blur or slide in and out, and the character is not drawn in the characteristic SOT parchment style, idk the more I look the more the "drawing" falls apart... where is this image from? Is this in game or on a rare social or some fan made thing? I'm just confused as to whether or not rare are using AI
Really not sure about the blowgun - seems like it may just suck, despite all the options. Eye of reach kills your foe dead pretty effectively, but the darts....all seem slow, or something that can be avoided somehow.
@gablemakesshid the issue with those is that they are defused by water. As in it makes them do no damage at all. A rifle shot has a good damage at a near instant time, at distance. Even the example they show results in no real issue to the group it hits, who keep running their treasure along the dock.
@@silvercat18 I also think the blow darts will be inferior weapons to use in a shoot out. They're seem to be very quiet to fit in with the sneaking theme of the update so I guess the idea is to give you a weapon you can use that won't immediately give your position away with a loud noise? lol. I think they'll be pretty fun sneaking around on an enemy galleon but probably you wouldn't want one if they've already located you.
My bets for the mimic dart is it will either temporarily give you the appearance of the player you just hit or will mimic sounds if a ship/enemy because I believe they mentioned that I'm the preview

Yeah I absolutely hate how they’ve nerfed the grapple gun. It’s like all the benefits and versatility of the tool were removed to a bare minimum useless shitshow. Like the only exciting thing was to board with it. I don’t want a new tool to assist in doing the same boring board method we’ve been doing since beta.
Looks as skippable as season 13 for me honestly. I never really cared for the PVP side of this game bc of how broken and buggy it is. I really wish they'd just rework hourglass. Although some cool features in this update they are all absolutely not needed at the same time. Just feels like a filler.

You sound so out of it in this one, i remember you being so excited every time you talked about this game, but this feels so by the numbers and disinterested. I hope you're doing okay! I know content creation can be draining, especially doing the same game for so long, don't be afraid to take a break if necessary (even if the algorithm would hate it). @@CaptainFalcore no I just really like the heavily pirate looking cosmetics and there very few and far between so if we get them outta twitch drops than that’s okay with me I do understand why people are thinking that these might not meet a certain quota for twitch drops because they are very basic but Rare is lazy with cosmetics and I just don’t want them to ditch pirated themed stuff when in the recent season it looked like they were leaning into it
