There's a youtuber named Gina Everywhere who is a renowned former JYP trainee and she explained the blacklisting situation very well: when a company takes in a trainee, they give that trainee access to their training system, resources and sometimes business plans (which could all be considered trade secrets). The training is often free (especially in bigger companies like Big 3) so when a trainee or idol suddenly wants to leave, they usually have to sign a contract and promise to not join a rival company, or better yet, to leave the Kpop industry altogether. If that trainee/idol doesn't accept such terms, and uses the skills trained by one company to benefit another, then the company would face risks of having their training secrets leaked, that's why they ban those trainees/idols from appearing on TV as a punishment. Of course, if the trainee is let go (because the company cannot debut them), or if the idol keeps their end of the deal and fulfills the contract, then no blacklisting will happen. That's why at first, when Jessica left SNSD, SM didn't do anything to her. It was AFTER she joined Coridel and started her solo activities in 2016 that she started to be blacklisted.

"They usually sign a contract to not join a rival company or better" many idols have been trained at multiple big companies like Jungwon enhypen he was a sm trainee then joined bug hit or seoyeon and jiwon fromis_9 seoyeon was a yg trainee before and jiwon was a jyp one although they didn't train at HYBE as they already debuted but there are many more examples and most ex trainees from big 4 proudly mention that they trained at _____ before joining the show
@LovelyKissess
@LovelyKissess 6 месяцев назад
That must have been something they did back then, because there's lots of idols that left big companies and joined another. As a matter of fact, GD left Sm to join YG so it wasn't even back then. It might have just been her own personal issue
@user-uh1td8iv1n
@user-uh1td8iv1n 6 месяцев назад
@@LovelyKissess That's why I said "if the trainee/idol is let go." It depends on the situation. The company sometimes let the trainee go without problems, usually when they don't have concrete plans for that trainee, or when they cannot debut the trainee.

I feel so bad for Jessica, she was the main vocal of SNSD with taeyeon. She is the reason that Airport Fashion today exists, that's why she made her clothing business. Jessica and her sister Krystal from f(x) were the first IT girls. Jessica's girly voice was the literal backbone of SNSD sound. I hate SM so much man for blacklisting her cause she was one of the most famous members at the time along with Yoona and Taeyeon.

@marcelofrias1631
@marcelofrias1631 4 месяца назад
@@shirabu.is.fine.asf. well, the reason of her being kicked out was her fashion business , which is still not enough. Cause for her to be able to begin a business takes months and months of preparations (contracts, etc) and SM and the girls gave her the permission to do that (Via Jessica and Tiffany) But the fact that 1 MONTH after it launched some members were like " Well i don't want you to run this business anymore, quit it or leave the group" is disgusting behaviour, you can't pull out of a business that size soon after it launched or you'll get sued to death. Even SM after the members told her to leave was still allowing her to run her business, the problem was within the members (or maybe some of their parents too like some sources said) And after they kicked her, they used the excuse of scheduling conflicts?! When Jessica almost never in her career of SNSD missed a schedule like most of the other members did for their solo careers. And she did not missed any schedule while she had Blanc either. That was never a problem when Sooyoung, Yuri, Yoona or other members were missing group schedules for their solo careers. it's truly disgusting and hypocritical. Liking OT9 posts or photos with Jessica, or even (barely to never) acknowledging they were 9 at the peak of their career does not take away the fact that THEY (or most of them) betrayed someone they knew for 14 years for no justifiable reason and the fact that they destroyed that person's career and life (she would not have been blacklisten had she not been kicked out of SNSD)

In Korea Kpop idols can be easily blacklisted as all the shows are designated 9+ meaning all content and performers must be suitable for audience of 9 years and older. If Kpop shows were rated for 15+ like in America, much of the misdemeanors would not make the news. Much like an American actor would be sacked from Disney children show for smoking etc where as the producers of mTV couldnt careless.

I'm new into kpop and I'm very shocked seeing that, when idols sue their companies due to infringement of their contracts, fans tend to hate them for being "greedy". Labor laws should protect entertainment workers and its sad to see fans being at the companies side.

Lets not forget they also do sneaky shit like forcing small company's to release lower quality mixes and prints of these artist albums. JYJ and Jessica's albums on streaming for years sound like they were recorded in tomato can. This greatly affects the "posh" and polish feel Kpop has worked so hard to promote against Jpop and US Soul and Pop-RnB. Since they can't promote the songs, guess what you can't hear the real mix of the song.

It will be interesting to see what happens to BLACKPINK since they turned down solo contracts with YG. Some of them have the U.S. connections, but I worry about Jisoo's business in Korea since she doesn't have as big an escape window. These Kruds don't know who they're messing with this time around. CJ and LA may come to the rescue! 🤪😜 It wouldn't be entertainment without controversy. A useful report! Thanks

EXACTLY! She's likely not banned either. Soojin's label decided to not focus on Korean promotions for her debut, which was a good idea honestly. she performed in npop, a new music show. but not in any of the other ones. her own company said theyre gonna focus on the international fandom and social media. i doubt they did that on purpose, music show performances help you get a lotta attention, especially since shes coming back after a long hiatus, and as solo. She pretty much got blacklisted.

taking note of the power of these k-pop industry companies seemingly powerful enough to block artists from appearing on shows etc, it strikes me to beat these spiteful people, i would honestly tell many of the artists to club together and create their own radio broadcasting stations, i'm pretty sure the fans would pretty quickly ignore those that block and join the artist owned broadcasting shows, and for the fun of it here is your name (ARTIST RADIO B) ERR THE (B) having a double meaning, i'll let you figure out what that double meaning means, so if any of you artists read this, you can use it for free i don't want any money or to be acknowledged either, ok i'm not that nasty,
