The problem with your energizing orb is by default the pattern provider will output to inventory on all sides, so the pattern provider also sends the input to modular router then the modular router sends it back to provider.

For the energizing orb you need to use the "Blocking Mode" instead of the "Lock Crafting". Set it to "Do not push crafting ingredients if inventory contains a pattern input".

Agreed, you can also remove the modular router when using that option in the pattern provider

All I did was put an import bus on the Powah base, and it worked fine. Pattern Provider on the bottom, Importer on the side, worked flawlessly.

On those rods you could also make a few floating "stars" with 1 point and 6 rods.

If you put one piece of cable left and right of a flux point, you can get 10+ per point. Would love to see you really spam out those pillars amd just have waaaaaaay more than you practically need

last time i used refined storage to make powah i had to use a redstone repeter and some redstone and set the crafter to only work with a signal grab a restone signal from the powah crafter and send it to the refined storage crafter kinda bulky but easy

You can do the redstone with an redstone upgrade in the modular router. This is way easyer

if you want to provide the thermal machines with more power so they can run faster you can try to use multiple modular routers all sending power to the same block, used a similar fix in the past with multiple flux points on a thermal machine so it could keep up with a "watch of flowing time" from project-e

If phyto isn't the fastest / best in the pack what is? The 16×16 lilypad of fertility 2 tier 9×9 farms with red fertilizer and modular routers to auto watering can auto scythe harvest and vacuum everything up or is there faster / better than that even?

I am not sure if Volcano block has this, but the original ATM had Entangled mod which allowed me to automate Powah very cleanly. None of the blocks were visible. I just connected the entangled block to the energizing orb and done all the automation on that in a separate area.

VERY sadly, entangled is not in volcanoblock, it's such a good mod but I understand why they didn't put it

if you connect multiple points to pipes and those pipes are connected (the pipes aren't connected to each other) to a single machine, does it increase the transfer rate of power?

just use mekanism cables or put each side with its own point. powah cables are not known for being able to handle large amounts of power.

thermal no longer has the energized version of the phyto-gro. they removed it a long time ago

It's got a lot of nice mods in it. But I've quit playing these packs that are just "grind thru all these mods just because". Sadly, that seems to be the only major packs being made these days.
