I hate to say it, cause this is like 20 years worth of best trick winners, but the noseslide on that handrail down the 30 stair stood out to me. Mason’s hard way half cab nose blunt was insane, but that noseslide was death defying.
Its probably because you are a noseslider more than a half cab nosebluntsliding kind of person. To each their own, but to me it wouldnt matter if that guy noseslid a 500 stair handrail naked , compared to Masons iconic , God level if difficultly , halfcab nosebluntslide into a high rough and treacherous ledge , at speed, easily eclipses all of these tricks in this video, even if they were all done switch! Just saying Just ask around, those in the know! You will see what i am talkin about!
Ollie over the car is crazy. Simple but crazy. Switch hill bomb was gnarly. Nollie, late nollie flip into nose slide was definitely trick of the year for me.
I’m a Pedro guy but he has better tricks in the running in this, besides hillbombs don’t matter after this ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-N6IC80LfrNs.htmlsi=6Uyv4NNzo003FfGZ
Spent the whole video waiting for something better than Mason’s half cab noseblunt at Clipper, but there wasn’t anything that grabbed me. It was gnarly and awkward, stylish and elegant, and on a legendary spot, adding to skateboarding history and culture.
all were great but masons first trick was insane. i actually got up from computer and tried to picture myself how would i even aproach this trick and its mind boggling.
that gargantuan noseslide trumps em all i say- it's so big i didn't believe it was even possible, and then here it is...the way he picks up speed so quickly on the last section of the rail made my heart pound...
Overrated... I still don't understand the yuto hype? But ... we all have different styles that we like. So... it's all skateboarding once you pull out the ice packs.
What don't you understand about the yuto hype? I'm not saying it was the best trick in the video but did you not see how clean the late flip nose slide was? a fucking nollie BACKSIDE 270 heel to board, you willfully ignorant or you drunk@@Sir_Michael_James
I thought the same thing. I hate that close-up shot with a fish eye lens from underneath. It's hard to tell what's happening. I much prefer just a straight-up, 35 mm shot from a decent distance where we can see the whole gap, rail, whatever, without lens distortion so we can get an idea of the scale, height, and trajectory of the trick.
To me, TOTY has to be either: 1.)Something on a Huge, high risk high consequence obstacle, 2.)super technical, super clean steezy 3.)super unique, creative, NBD Alot of these didn’t fit any of those IMO
Nollie 270 heel flip boardslide for me 2:05 is ballistic also the switch hill bomb, Ryan shecklers drop in kick flip is also insane and the car Ollie are my top tricks
What a year. The danger factor for me. 1. Large ass noseslide 2. Crook/flip lip sacramento 3. Switch hill bomb baxter 4. Switch 180 TJ Rest all amazing. Its been a heavy year. Suprized Nyjah(huge grinds & slides need that) and some other did not feature. Has got nothing on clive. Leo, i rate could win soty and toty😂❤ tbh, but it was solvas turn.🤘 how to even decide? A ollie/pop could never cut it. Not according to Thrasher.
If I had to guess… dude with the wild hair and horizontal black/white/striped tee, did a switch flip smooth manual to switch tre flip out. That was nice.
Pedro's SWITCH hillbomb should get it IMO. But Walker Ryan's switch kickflip 360 (blizzard flip?), Carlos's switch crook through a double-kink handrail, and Yuto's entires are obviously worthy as well. Oh, and both of Jack O'Grady's!
My vote goes to Collin Slew (4:20). That guy's been incredible for such a long time. In the late 2000's he won a best trick competition before it even started. #slewcrew
Lots of sick tricks, but that stair set ollie to land on that narrow path of the next set was the sickest, followed by nollie front foot flip noseslide
Anyone who knows anything goes for the nose slide, massive slam potential and at any point you’re fucked, massive long round rail, could see the wheel almost sticking underneath, some fucked moves but all day the nose slide
That first trick is insane, idk know what to call it but it's extremely awkward and uncomfortable to picture trying to do, especially on that huge ledge.
@@nedtempleton4873his nose is what he popped off since he popped fakie. He landed on his actual tail. I guess it can be relative or literal or it doesn’t matter at all because he coulda been skating a twin nose or twin tail. Had he just done a switch bs blunt he would be in the exact same position that the half cab put him in though which is why I listed it as an option. Idk I’m not a trick dictionary
@@tristans_ No that's wrong. With regards to the trick, he popped off his tail even if he popped off his board nose. And even if he popped off his board nose the trick would still be called Halfcab nosebluntslide. And fakie tricks never turn into switch tricks unless you do a switch trick out of it e.g. Fakie nosegrind switch kickflip out.
1.Sheckler's tail drop kick flip 2. Pedro's switch hill bomb 3. Jack's Ollie over the stairs into the bank 4. Yuto's nollie back 3 heel boardslide 5. The fs 270 switch blunt back to regular at clipper bust or bail at 2:54. People are sleeping on that trick
