That's not the whole story and there are some lies in there. She knew he was 19 and the reason they started dating is because her boyfriend she was currently dating they were at the club together, then Carmelo showed up, she went over there introduced herself, her boyfriend saw that, she came back over, they started arguing, Melo and a few of his guys came over ask was she ok, alright, then she backed up towards Carmelo's side saying yes, then her boyfriend threw a drink in her face then him and Carmelo started fighting. Long story short, he defended her honor and she was impressed. They both agreed to keep their ages and age difference a secret.
Listen in my opinion Lala knew that Carmelo didn't want her it was clear as day he been not wanting her they didn't have any chemistry they didn't match and when they had that show on VH1 you could clearly see that he was annoyed by her I think he stayed around for the sake of their son I think the reason why she was trying to hold on to him so bad is because of who he was and she didn't wanna see him with nobody else and she was hanging on to what she was hoping they would be rather than what they actually were but we all knew that from the very beginning it was obvious from my observation

Unpopular opinion: Lala is a legend. She has been in the industry and was one of the many faces on tv throughout my childhood in the early 2000s. Carmelo was a young nba player living a certain lifestyle. She was much older and ready to settle down. Hopefully she finds her person one day.
