Is there any food more truly American than BBQ ribs? We’ve started a petition to make ribs our national food. Join us and Vince Wilfork and sign the petition to give BBQ ribs the honor it deserves.: www.kingsford....
Following the Patriots' victory in the 2015 AFC Championship game, Wilfork helped pull a driver out from an overturned vehicle. He noticed the flipped SUV on his way home from Gillette Stadium, assisting an officer already at the scene. Wilfork later recounted the event and his role in helping the driver: "I think anybody would do the same thing, I saw the lady in there and asked her if she was OK, could she move. She grabbed my hand, and kind of talked her through [it]. It wasn't a big deal; it was seeing someone that needed help and helping. I was just trying to get her to safety." Mr. Wilfork does not boil his pork ribs.
I should edit this. I don't have a smoker. So I'm limited to oven, stove top and grill. I should have added that the ribs are salted and peppered and rubbed with 1 Tlbs. of garlic paste per rib. Braised not boiled. About 2 hrs. with a foil tent. Remove ribs, add sauce and grill\broil until bubbles form and blacken slightly.
I love this guy. And he's right! You don't cheat and boil ribs. Low and slow! You'll be licking your eyebrows if you're just patient. You just need some exposure and drop the "F" bomb from the script. But dangit! I like the way you think!
People in Texas don't use charcoal, though. They use Texas wood. That was a good commercial but insulting at the same time for Texans who really know how to bbq. Just check out Franklin Bbq, real pit master. I think Vince is just doing it for the 💵 .
Slow roasting over wood makes the meat taste sappy unless said would is properly cured and that takes time. Charcoal is slow enough but you want me to dry wood for 6 months?
