Lovely video! The Thanksgiving cacti you grew from seeds are really cute! Waiting to see them in bloom! The one with rose shaped buds is amazing...even the leaves are different and beautiful! Wonderful Christmas cactus, I think it will flower after the Thanksgiving cacti as the buds are smaller. The very old Thanksgiving cactus is a good bloomer! Anyway, all these cacti are amazing, especially when in flower! Have an amazing evening my friends Lyn and Hans! Lots of love and happiness!

Some good Schlumbs there Lyn 👍🏼Just read this on our gardening forum - "Historical note: These cacti were named for Frédéric Schlumberger (1823-1893). Despite the angry sounding, gutteral name, he was French. Then again, his father came from Alsace, so who knows? Schlumberger was a cactus hobbyist in Rhouen in Northern France. However the cacti originate in treetops and rocks in coastal Brazil, from shady, humid climates." 😎

What a buzz! You playing at BEING a bee two year's ago and us getting great Information now with a some lovely plants. Maureen has two on the dinning room table with one single flower At the moment, but with plenty of very small flower buds getting ready. I will view the vid again, as Maureen got the two plants and was told Christmas cactus, and I think both are festival cactus? Still ,when the flowers are out ,great joy will be had, Thanks again for a great vid Lyn, the temperature is dropping of a night Now but it is the first of December tomorrow, Bill Maureen.

Thats so wonderful that Maureen has a Schlumbergera in bloom and more buds on the way too, yes I am pretty sure that all the Schlumbergera sold in UK and Europe are sold as Christmas cactus even though they are the Schlumbergera truncata ( Thanksgiving cactus ) but as most of us in UK don't celebrate Thanksgiving they sell all the Schlumbergare truncatas in UK as Christmas cactus haha, it can be so confusing but Festive cactus sounds much better as it can cover both the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday haha :-D its going to be so exciting to see the blooms on these blooming lovely stunners haha :-D thanks so much Bill for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, and sending you and Maureen lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Essex for a fantastic Friday evening and a wonderful upcoming weekend XXXX

I will definitely keep you updated on the Easter cactus, it always look quite bad at this time of year when its resting and drops quite a few leaf segments, but from late Feb it perks back up again and new leaf segments grow and comes into bud, I always start mine back up again from early Feb with a very light watering and with a drop of diluted tomato feed to help encourage the Easter cacti blooming, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend ahead XXXX

Commenting as I watch... the flower buds are sometimes different in colour to the open flowers. My pink flowered plant has green tinged flower buds. Can't wait to see the flowers on yours open.

Can't wait for the flowers 😍 I've noticed that you put tarps on the floors of your poly tunnels and they run up the walls a little bit .Why do you do that? I'm trying to learn. I just built a small hoop house and it's raining super hard 🌧

Thats fantastic you have built a hoop house Robert :-D I put the tarps on the floor to help to prevent damp and cold coming up from the floor, it really helps with the insulation too, I have a layer of insulating thin foam underneath the tarpaulin to stop the cold and damp rising up from the floor, thanks so much Robert for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend ahead XXXX
