@@PneumatinisPlaktukas15 That's just irrelevant to anything being said here, ranting means speaking in an impassioned or angry way. Someone can be shut down with impassioned speech or with disinterested speech, not sure where you got the idea that it needed to be one or the other.

The funny thing about David Mitchell's rants is that they could almost all very easily be Victoria Coren Mitchell's rants. I can almost hear it in her voice, just slightly less perturbed. They're well paired and I love them both!

If you're wondering... 4×25=100 100-8=92 92×9=828 The way to think about it is that 100×9=900 and 900-72=828. You can get 72 by 8×9, but there's only one 9, and you can't make another from 5 and 6. So since both the 100 and the 8 have to be multiplied by 9, you can group them and only use one 9. 9(100)-9(8) becomes 9(100-8).

The rants are pretty good but maybe turn down the laugh track a bit or all the way to off? I’m sure the audience laughter would be enough. And an additional benefit would be the ability to hear David’s answer all the way through without this crushingly loud guffawing drowning out the last bit.

I think it is audience laughter, just amplified. They give the audience a separate microphone and then the sound editor cranks the volume way up on that sound :(.
