@@jonathand.t.5051 its actually jst.. weird, strange, and jst surreal to realize that top gear was actually serious. Idk like.. top gear is cemented to be peak comedy
@@impostor998 today we will be reviewing one of a kin vehicle that has 2.3 ghz revving engine sound, goes up to idk 88 mm per every i find a proper job in today’s economy
ZAINILEX hipsters that will never give GT a chance because “it’s not top gear”. It’s the same old story you’ve heard a million times, just let it go and we’ll enjoy GT doubly for them
the 2014 intro captured the show perfectly, it was a show about reviewing cars (doesn't matter supercars or not) while they also did some chaotic, crazy, fun stuff to watch especially with a trio that has funny personalities. the Jeremy-Richard-James era was the best
I think that honestly this year they would have given up, if not prior. They aren't even doing studio performances in their own show The Grand Tour anymore, so the show may have gone with a major rebrand now if the circumstances of them quitting wasn't so abrupt and on such unfortunate / terms. I just feel sad for the people who won't grow up with the 2002 - 2015 Top Gear like us. It's okay now, but they're still trying to make it in the C/H/M formula.
0:33 the execs at bbc really went like: "well we invested a fuck ton of money on those new fangled 3d graphics workstations, might as well use it for every single thing we make onwards"
I love how all the intros are exactly what you would expect from the respective time periods. The 80s one is exactly what you would expect a car show from the 80s to have, and so on.
Second guessed myself so had to google it. 1977-1990s Top Gear is technically an entirely different show to 2002- Top Gear. Sort of like a spiritual successor.
I remember thinking the 2012 intro had a cool new look, I was only 8 at the time. The 2002 intro is the one i immediately think when i think of top gear with trio.
I remember my mum telling me when I was young “Top Gear comes on in 10 minutes if you want to wat…” And I’d come running in with my hot wheels cars before she could even finish
2011 with their silhouettes, and the trio silhouette at the end...Perfection 2014 tried to remaster it, but the background scenes are not as catchy as 2011's
It's kind of crazy how old top gear really is but we all know that 2002-2015 was the best and even then the older series wasn't too bad compared to the current series
Not many know this but a small american band turned the original intro jingle into a real song in the 1970s, they are very overlooked and you should definetly check them out!
First episode I sought out was Race To The North (the race starring Tornado, the then newly-built Peppercorn A1), and I've been loving these guys' work since. Long Live May, Hammond & Clarkson!
2011: Everytime I'd come home from school and we'd watch TopGear until Clarkson had his incident. Then started watching Grand Tour every Friday cus thats when the episodes came out.
The end section of the theme in the seventies until mid to late 80's is a great musical number by Elton John from his 'Blue Moves' Album, called 'Out Of The Blue' Its great !!
the best TG theme song is the 2014 one, with the outlines of Hammond, May, and Clarkson, and the car train, the Marauder, all of the iconic cars, just chefs kiss, and that to me was Hammond, May, and Clarkson's theme, they made that theme song recognizable ANYWHERE
The 1977 and 1986 intros make me want to drive a Volkswagen Bus to Boston to find a retired author and take him to a Red Sox game in which the Scoreboard talks about a baseball player who played 1inning in one game in 1922
Sad to think that 2011 ver. was the peak of this show After that it started it's dying But still im happy that this show became a huge part of my teenage
