There was a time when Vidya used to be so good at her promotional campaign and today we don't see her much doing that. I guess this film will also suffer from a poor marketing strategy.
Yo listen, these kind of movies are not made for the academy or the globes, please don't watch it , don't compare Goodfellas taxi driver or no country for Old men to Bollywood.
I just posted about how we all collectively got so scarred by the last season that we forgot what a global phenomenon it truly was. I don't think anything has matched that level of hype, where we discussed each development as every episode dropped
Seriously when you come home after a long day and want to spend remaining 2-3 hours watching something good but you cant find anything good and your time is wasted. It is such a bad feeling
I thought that dialogue was stupid..because men also go to war to protect the women and children... some men are forced to go to war... That dialogue would sound good only to ppl who bought into the feminist narrative that "women are oppressed and men are doing great"
I am deeply in love with Do aur Do pyar and Baby Reindeer Vidya and Pratik's chemistry is so organic and the humor is top notch. I was so invested in the stories and it is so sad that these amazing works of art might not get the love they deserve! One just cannot miss these
Absolutely loved Baby Reindeer. Seems like a comedy at first, but it escalates into darkness so well that it just keeps you hooked. Binged it in one night.
Civil war in imax was haunting the close ups of dead bodies and gruesome killing with funky bass playing at the background and each and every bullet sound was felt in imax truly cinema
Please make it in Regular series. Topic- Shows/Movies to watch This Weekend. We all are struggling to find good content and You are the best person for this..
Hi Jammy , please do more of these videos,we keep suffering from trying to search something to watch in the weekend and finally ending up just scrolling everything and watching nothing, this video just set me up for next 3 weekends 😊
Bro Shogun's last episode killed me inside a little bit . Like look at this bollywood , hollywood whatever - this is how strong female characters are made . Ahhh it felt like something shattered inside me . Eagerly waiting for the battle of Sekigahara in the next episode
There are well written strong female characters in every industry. I don't understand this brutal hatred for female characters that sometimes miss the mark because we have so many bad male characters that outnumber the female ones. Yet we don't see the same hate for the horrendous male characters the way that even a slightly bad female one receives. If one starts listing off every bad male character bollywood, hollywood and every other industry has written, It would drive you insane and yet the outrage is nowhere near the same. Its somehow more forgivable for a male character to be a dumpster fire than it is for a female character to be slightly off the mark. Its crazy and hypocritical
Shogun is also a Hollywood project. The writers predominantly work in Hollywood. Justin Marks, who created the show with his wife, has previously written Disney's The Jungle Book and he's credited as a story writer on Top Gun: Maverick.
Well put. Do aur Do Pyar is getting pretty good reviews but no promotion apart from the trailer. Later, people say, khash theatre mein dekhte and some only watch such movies on ott, sad.
I am & i was impressed by your command on language, since inception of your channel it became an intriguing game to look for another synonym of comman narrative represented by your in your vocabulary. The way you play with words is an impression altogether, ( idk ) how much is impromptu vs written screenplay by you ? Either way you seriously should consider pening down a book 📖 ( fiction, non fiction, of even a movie journal ) I am really looking forward to read that in real .👍🏼👏🏼best wishes 💐
@@pipipupu5104 pls read my comment again 🙏🏻 I am more impressed by the vocab he plays with. And the way he articulates his narrative at such a young age is something altogether. Hence me expecting a book 📚📖 from him whether it's belong to any genre is a natural extension.
Jammy I have a suggestion, something inspired by the RU-vidr Jack Edwards where he gives book recommendations based on very specific needs or interests of his audience, you can do that for movies
Talking about your overall movie review. I like your first few-second clip where you give your opinion on the film by your facial expression or sarcastic jokes. It gives me an overall review/opinion of the film. That's what I want rather than hearing the story of the film. I am that guy who doesn't want to watch a trailer as it gives all the information and dives right into the film without any idea. So, thanks for that opening clip. And please add if you highly recommend the film, If you want them to. It would be great.
Bollywood is lacking good promotions. No idea who came with these ideas of releasing the trailer just 10 days before release? No physical promotions, audience do not have time to watch promotions on YT.
Pretty good recommendations, Shogun is an absolute piece of art. If you are interested to watch, the creators of Game of thrones came up with another series called Three body problem. I think it is a good watch as well and if you're into video games. Fallout came out recently and it is a pretty decent adaptation too.!
Bro, you are literally the only Indian reviewer I could find that watched and reviewed Baby Reindeer. It's an absolutely haunting, heartfelt and brave piece of work that needs to be seen and talked about more.
I've been watching Shogun every Tuesday and I'm so imvested in wanting to read up more about Japnese history due to this. Hiro Sanada is amazing, he's acting and producing. He's given more than a 100% and the cast of actors and research about the details of ceremonies of that time and way of speaking is genuinely emphased to get as authentic a portrayal as possible
Having watched both Shogun and The Gentlemen, I'm currently engrossed in the Korean drama "Twenty Five Twenty One." It's a brilliant series that sets great relationship goals. If a man and a woman can strive to be supportive partners for each other, they have the potential to achieve remarkable things together .
talking about supportive partners the gentlemen is also a love story. They never show it but its spread around all over the show. i do know why they didnt get it on in the end. The gentlemen like better call saul is a good love story
It wasn't that good though it's mature in k drama relam but far from being something good y'all hype k drama for no reason as stories are as basic as it can get
@@divineflu34567 Claiming an insanely diverse industry with countless genres and stories as "basic" must be one of the most ignorant things I've read this past week. Like damn bro, that uncultured? couldn't be me
Binged watched baby reindeer yesterday on Netflix after watching your video and man, it was worth watching Completely intriguing and engaging. Just loved it. Thank you for the recommendation..
What I love about Shogun is that it kept increasing its bar by each episode. The visuals, acting, casting, and my my the dialogues, everything is on next level. How history needs to be portrayed can be learned from Shogun. Deeply connected with the roots of Japanese culture during Edo period.
I began watching this video (after the introduction) with the intention of finding a compilation of movies and series to enjoy while dining. While some recommendations might involve a trip to the theater, I'm hoping for a comprehensive list that includes all available options on OTT platforms. Nevertheless, list is quite impressive.
Baby Reindeer !!! I felt such terrible feeling of impending doom while watching the lead make one bad choice after another in the first 2 episodes. The persistence of Martha sends chills down your spine. Can't wait to get back home and finish it up.
Baby reindeer is one of those shows which really changes you as a person. It's almost as if it takes you through all the epiphanies the main character had as he went through and tries to understand all the wild experiences. To go about all the traumatising stuffs and still come out with sympathy for the stalker and harasser is just unbeleivable. His greatest work being the tragic path of his life is almost ironical, but all credits to his art to make his trauma into art, this show was truly dark for me.
Shogun series is pure cinematic experience, sir hiroyuki ,who also acted on movies like BULLET TRAIN,he's a perfect choice for such powerful potrayal of Shogun.he himself produced this series for some part but also made sure everything,i mean EVERYTHING,down to the choice of words that will be used on hierarchy on that times be used and not the modern tokyo dialect.
everything's seems ok with all the info, brother the framings sense of the video didn't do justice with the work you do. I love your work and admire a lot
Just watched do aur do pyar... A very subtle reminder about what marriage is all about.. and that it will go the way u would take it... Loved the movie. Especially after your recommendation...
Shogun was such a a great recommendation. My first time watching a Japanese series and it was just great!! Especially performance of Anna Sawai playing Mariko Sama!!
Funny, three of the shows you mentioned, 'The Gentleman' 'Shogun' and 'Baby Reindeer' were a favourite of mine as well. I wonder if you watched 'Only murders in the Building', 'Behind her Eyes', 'Dirty John' and 'Preacher'. I think you might consider watching them. I daresay you will like them.
Hi Jammy. Here's an interesting topic: The Bizzare Economics of recent Akshay Kumar films. Since the pandemic AK is signing mega projects such as PVC,BMCM and Welcome 3. All these films are budgeted 310,350 and 375 crores respectively. AK's highest grosser is Good Newz which *grossed* 317 crore worldwide. (2.0 was a Rajni film) And there is no indication that AK will get his BO groove back anytime soon,so why are producers and he himself is backing him up for such mega projects when it is severely limiting his chances of giving a hit and producers are losing crores of money?
Yes sure sure it looked at that moment that Akki will become Pan Indian but unfortunately didn't happen. Here I'm speaking only from a box office perspective. Hindi collection of 2.0 was 190 crore and India nett was 410 crore so majority of the moolah came from South languages which was a Rajni factor.
Thanks for the "Shogun" suggestion. I just finished the 1st episode of it and started searching for Japanese History. By the way, I always liked history, even during my school day.
Will be watching shogun after the release of last episode. I finished baby reindeer and I was surprised that the main lead was the same person in the real life too. It was very good and finished it in one sitting
Baby Reindeer is soooo good , It's funny , it's scary , it's deep ,it's serious , it's everything. I binged the whole season in one sitting and its amazing. Also you missed one good show 'RIPLEY' , if you can , review it as well .
I haven't watched anything that you mentioned but in recent times I did watch latest seasons of True Detective (Season 4) and Tokyo Vice (Season 2). I was not disappointed at all. Jesse Plemons is such a versatile actor, looks like I'll have to watch Civil War in IMAX. Also, I'm wondering how to watch the latest season of Fargo and awaiting finale season of Yellowstone!
I recently watched Shogun.First 2 episodes the initial interest wasn't generated but as i went on to watch it peaked my interest and i must say it's absolutely recommended
hey jammy, if you want to see a good horror show with a compelling mystery, then i recommend watching "From", the show has 2 seasons and is still ongoing. it is honestly one of the best mystery shows ive seen since dark, it managed to immerse me in its twisted, unforgiving world (and i feel disconnected when watching most horror movies and series so this show is something else entirely imo). All in all "From" is definitely worth a watch.
Now that Shogun is over, I can say it was a treat to watch. I asked myself what made me feel connected with the series ? As Indians, we still value emotions such as loyalty and courtesy which have been displayed in the series. Immaterial of being foes, respecting your enemy's qualities is something which is worth learning among the many life lessons shared in the series.
Love love love jammy. Thank you so much for making such content and for the honest review. Happily subscribed you 4-5 years ago and really happy with growth. You are a gem. Manifesting a round table with actor hosted by you.
I was waiting for your review of Civil war. 😊 Watched Civil war yesterday night. Loved the movie. However, i Don’t agree with your comment on the sound design. I liked the sound design and the BGM. 😊
Talking about "Baby Reindeer" - You should have a look at "Wicker Park" - a 2004 movie. I wonder if you have already seen this one. (If you have have seen it already, I would like to hear your opinion on such films from the past, as well) I havent seen this movie since 2004. I wonder if I might have a change of opinion if I watch it again. But with the memories that I have of that film -- Man!! You must surely consider that film.
Baby Reindeer is INCREDIBLE! One of the best things I've seen this year. Civil War just didn't work for me. It's incredibly well made but the narrative lacked any sort of depth and focus. Not because it doesn't align with a political side or explain what the differences are, that's fine. But it just didn't make me care about any of the characters. It just felt like a long music video with nice visuals. If the overall message was "war is hell" then it was just half baked at best. Shogun is great but it doesn't have well developed interpersonal relationships that has me connected as a viewer. The ultra-wide anamorphic lens, bordering on an almost 'fish-eye' look is distracting and takes away from me being invested in the world (as well as appreciating the set design). So many scenes have that dark vignette around the corners. Otherwise, it's decent.
Shogun honestly is so good. The fact that it only gets better every week boggles my mind. Huge GoT fan here and I get the comparisons but Shogun needs to shine in its own light. The way they've fleshed out the characters so attentively in such a short duration (Dont get me started on the cultural accuracy) deserves all the praise. All around, perfect mini series. Already know the last episode is gonna be peak TV. Hope we get something like this that can go on for several seasons.
I think it goes beyond 'You' from a psychological stand point because it actually dives deep on what victims of abuse undergo and the patterns they fall prey to
Gentlemen is a great black comedy. Theo James is great as the Duke. Shogun is beautifully shot. Pacing is a little bit slow for me, but I am always eager to discover the political development of feudal Japan on a weekly basis. Anna Sawai slays as Mariko, Hiroyuki Sanada as the master of trickery is great as always, though Cosmo Jarvis as Blackthorne irritates me with his aggressive behaviour. Next on my watchlist is Last night with the devil, which is releasing today
On April 26 Universal is re releasing the mummy from 1999! It’s incredible we aren’t getting it here ….thats something no one should miss in theatres ….also Ridley (God) Scott’s first Alien (the perfect film if there ever was ) on same date …sadly not in India
