I'm about to cry. I have this thing called trichotillomania (trick-o-till-o-mania) which means I involuntarily pull out my hair as a form of stress release. While it's not near as bad as cutting, it is considered a form of self harm and the embarrassment from walking around with a giant bald spot on my head is enough to make me want to shave my head. In high school, I went on a walk when this song first came out and was jamming out to it. I had my hair parted a different way because it covered my bald spot. A big gust of wind came and blew my hair over revealing my bald spot right when the words "the day will come when you can't cover up what you've done" came on. I cried and realized the song was right; eventually i wont be able to hide my spots anymore unless i do something. I stopped for about 6 months but relapsed when I entered college. Tomorrow is my 100th day being pull free and listening to this song brings back the memory of that day and just pushes me to make it to 200 days. Stay strong.

Sarah Elliott I used to do that as a kid, I did it when I was nervous or worried. I think it was the start of my self harm because for the past year or 2 I’ve been cutting and burning, but I’m trying really hard to stop and I find myself doing it less and less

I have trichotillomania too and I have this bald spot on the side of my head like where the part begins and there's so many short hairs growing. The lady who cut my hair pointed it out to me and I just got really embarrassed. The short hair growing is just standing on TOP of my head and won't lay down whatsoever and it's very noticeable and annoying

You've got a long distance friend here. I lost the girl I was planning on marrying 2 days before the planned proposal to a tragic accident and had several times where I wanted to just end it all because I thought it was pointless to go on. But then I realized that I have so many people who would've been devastated had I gone through with it. Life is never easy, but things eventually get better, and it definitely helps to have inspiration from a great band like ATL.

@@batziii8745 omg it's like my past self talking back to me! I remember saying the exact same thing couple of years ago. In fact i actually made this comment trying to convince my own self lol BUT I'm not depressed right now so i can assure you it wasn't my fault and it's not yours either bc there is actually no fault. I was sick so i avoided my friends after a while they stopped trying to reach out(rightfully so). Turns out it wasn't me who was putting up walls it was my illness that made me feel like there were walls around me so thick that no light could get in. I lost all my friends then i made new ones. Also some of them came back into my life years later and we became friends again. So i can safely say there is light at the end, there is still hope. Just mourn the old friendships and make room for new ones. You didn't ask for this to happen. It hurt you the most. It's not your fault.

I could never explain how much this song means to me. One of my close friends suggested this song to me and I loved it right when I heard it. It just so happens that a few days after I heard this song the first time All Time Low was playing in my city. I ended up going to the concert with my cousin. I went to the concert and before All Time Low played I heard this awesome band called Sleeping With Sirens. After the concert I went home and looked up Sleeping With Sirens and listened to more songs by All Time Low. From searching up Sleeping With Sirens I found Pierce The Veil. While I was finding all these amazing bands my mom was getting ready to go to rehab. The day she left I was devastated. I remember reading the letter she left over and over again while listening to this song. While my mom was away I was coping with music. today started of great, then it went downhill. my mom decided to start calling me names and say i belong in a mental hospital for being such a "dark"and "angry" person. i was almost 3 months clean and she just had to come and do this to me. i would've still been almost 3 months clean but she took my music and earphones and everything. this is my school computer so she can't take this from me. i was in the shower and i listened to just Saviour by Black Veil Brides, Keep Holding On by Falling in Reverse and Missing You over and over. its calmed me down and i thank each and everyone of my bands for helping through all the shit my mom puts me through. i really wish i could meet all of them and tell them how much they've helped me. i love them.

To whoever is suicidal, I'd like to say something. I may never have felt suicidal myself, but I do suffer with severe social anxiety and depression, and this really spoke to me. If you want to go, if you need to go, don't. You may think you have no reason to live, or nobody to live for, but you do. You could be a complete loner or the most popular and famous person around, but know you've made at least one person smile. Perhaps your mother when she gave birth to you. Or if not, an off-hand comment to a person that made them feel happy. Or even, just buying something at a shop and making the shopkeeper happy. It's nice to think that is enough to live by. Know at least you've made me smile today, just for taking the time to read this. Stick around for a while longer. Make the smiles last. Thank you for reading.

This song means so much to me. My older sister cut when I was in elementary school and it took a huge toll on me. I was her therapist basically, because she felt she couldn’t talk to our parents at the time. At the time I thought it was my fault that she cut because I could’ve been there for her. Every time she was upset I would be so scared she would hurt herself again. At about late middle school/early high school I also started cutting and it was a really low point in my life. When I discovered this song I sent it to my sister (She had gotten a therapist and was doing so much better) Recently she told me that this song had helped her keep going and it helped me too :”) I’m 2 1/2 months clean and my sister has been clean for about a year. I’m starting therapy in a few weeks and I’m genuinely doing so much better (happy late pride month btw)

I've been battling with depression and anxiety for 6 years now. And just as he said ''self-medicating in the quiet of your room'' it sent shivers down my spine and I started to cry. The thing is, I always felt selfish. So many people living in worse conditions than I am, and people starving to death. I felt worthless. There were days where the it got so overwhelming that I just couldn't handle it. Days where I felt like sleeping and never waking up These couple of months have been ok, things are coming back to normal and I'm starting to feel great... I'm starting to feel human again. I know that it's normal to see this kind of comments here and there. I'm just trying to share my story and how this song got to me. This song is pure poetry. The first time when I heard this song, I was with my Nana in her car. I wasn't paying attention until I heard, "The day will come until you can't cover up what you've done." I instantly thought of all the scars I had and my eyes started to tear up. I tried my hardest not to cry in front of my Nana though and turned to look out the window. I felt tears falling and noticed how much this song really meant to me. I've listened to it so many times...whenever I thought of Suicide, this song would play in my head and I instantly stopped. I started thinking of all the people that would be hurt...especially with the promises I've made. I kept thinking about all the happy times where I would laugh and smile (Truly not fakely) with everyone that matter most. So...just know, no matter what you're doing through, no matter how hard it may be, there is always something and/or someone that will be there. Talk to someone if you really need to. I've been with a therapist for four years and continue to be with them until they think I'm better.

This song just came on on my playlist and out of nowhere i just burst into tears. I didn’t realize how much emotional weight I was carrying around, trying to be strong or tough like how “men “ are supposed to be but eventually I just broke down. I’ve had thoughts of suicide before but i’ve always pushed them to the back and told myself I could never, especially because I’ve lost a few friends to suicide even from when I was young so I know what it’s like on the other side but lately i’ve just been so tired. This song just hits different now especially now that I have a daughter and I don’t want her growing up without her dad. I don’t want to miss out or for her to miss me. a week from today will be 4 years since my friend Jeremy committed suicide so maybe that’s why my heart and mind have been heavy recently but i’m just so thankful to have this song to cry to and this comment section to vent to.

A few days ago I was starting to have negative thoughts that were taking over me while I was texting my friend, I was really struggling at that moment, I usually have negative thoughts that are kind of casual for me, but that time it felt pretty big, I mean it was starting to take over me. He told me to listen to this, and I wanted to cry so badly, I didn't because I can't really do so, I've gotten really used to just holding back tears. This song will always have a special meaning for me now{This might get ignored but eh}. Just, listen to this whenever you are having negative thoughts. It will help out

I used to listen to this song everyday when i was in a bad place back in high school freshman year, i’m now a sophomore in college and just going back listening to old music I did back then. just wanted to comment and say it does get better
