@@YoshiLikesFate you just contradicted yourself and it’s actually completely impossible to hurt it as all your missiles do is freeze it and you beams have no effect
actually, in the the official nintendo players guide, it says "mother brain is the backbone of the planet zebes." and in the commercial, by "protecting" zebes from mother brain, hes actually destroying it. note how i said he and she to keep in spirit with the og first game on nes
PowerCookie1 It may be linear but it had a great story and soundtrack, let alone the level design was astounding so no area looks the same while playing
Is nobody going to mention how well crafted Metroid Prime's commercial was? The integration of the first person and live action scenes was just so seamless. Makes me wish there was Metroid short film or something
Saying that you're fighting evil was tacky. You're mostly fighting inhabitants of Tallon IV's nature as an unwelcome intruder, not evil. I get it if they were implying space pirates, but I have a feeling they weren't.
Other M's commercial sorta reminds me of Halo Reach's and more recently Halo Wars 2's commercials... It also reminds me of some others but I can't put my finger on them.
Destroyah5000 While I had played the original Metroid on an old NES, I was far too young to properly appreciate and enjoy it. Other M's commercial was my first real exposure to the Metroid series. Now Metroid is one of my favorite game franchises of all time.
i'm with you. I got bored and kind angry with the Father-Daughter stuff, but the game played flawlessly. I think people just didn't like the battle focused and less exploration-oriented gameplay .
You clearly see the difference between Team Ninja and Retro by playing their games. Team Ninja should've never made a Metroid title it simply doesn't fit. For me the Gameplay was bland, the controls horrible designed, the story a mess (I hate those kind of bad plot twists like in Xenoblade X), the leveldesign was boring, the characters were poorly written (yeah I'm one of those who doesn't like Samus refusing to activate the varia suit while burning to death or being paralyzed by an enemy she fought before) and so on. The only things I liked were the artstyle, the suit design and the finishing animations - quite glad they return.
@@besmirmujaj9 Yeah honestly with the trailer being so good I couldn't imagine being hyped for that thing to come out. Could you imagine? Glad I wasn't on that hype train when it crashed
Nintendo will never make a better tagline than their "who are you?" ads. Maybe better than "Get 'N'-to it!" with the GameBoy Color, but never "who are you?"
I think the Fusion commercial is one of Nintendo's most underrated bits of marketing ever. It looked like something right out of the movies of that era. Honestly, I wish Nintendo did more live action commercials like this nowadays, and not just commercials of people playing their games.
You can really tell which decade you were in as you watch each commercial. From the "Whoa dude!" 80s commercials, that irreverent 90s humor, the gritty 2000s, the "Wii would like to play" era circa 2005, all the way to the overly cinematic 2010s. You can almost make out what movies had released at the time.
"You remember how the people liked how dark and mysterious Metroid games always were? How they produced feelings of isolation, the music was dark, epic and sometimes pretty eery? You know what would safe the series? CHIBI-LOOK!" -whoever was responsible for the clusterfuck that calls itself Federation Force
The very end of that OG Metroid Prime commercial still gives me goosebumps with those trailing notes... It's just so good. Never again will we get another Metroid commercial like that, where the live action is spliced in with game footage in a rather ingenious way.
Super Metroid will probably always be the best Metroid game ever. The physics of the game (wall jumping and sprint) that allow you to sequence break make it the best ever! Not to mention the beautiful graphics, creatures, environments, music, and more!
Javi Mínguez Zero Mission is maybe the best 2d game in the series. And that was 2004, not 2002. And AM2R is so well made it deserves to be called a proper Metroid game
Recuerdo haber visto el tráiler de Other M en casa de mi abuela por la TV cuando era niño, me transmitió una sensación tremenda, pues ya había jugado prime con anterioridad.
This actually says a lot about how video game marketing has changed, the most obvious is that the older game were marketed for the chalange, while newer are foor the experience. Other M's trailer is really cool (and tells us that it really would have been better as a prequel), I think there is an even ooler trailer for that one. somewhere.
freedomdst TBH Other M is a good game but a bad Metroid Game, and the trailer was pretty good. Federation Force is actually a nice co-op shooter, and it probably would have been more appreciated without the Metroid branding. But yeah, Metroid went downhill after the Prime Trilogy ended. At least now we have 2 new hopes.
@Preston I disagree with the Metroid logo. I'm fine with the logo but it should've been released _after_ a new Metroid game. It wouldn't have gotten so much backlash and probably would've gotten some positive feedback and also would've sold more copies.
Metroid Prime’s commercial is so badass, I really hope that Metroid Prime 4 gets the same treatment as well as Metroid Prime 2 & 3 for a Metroid Prime Trilogy HD commercial when it releases on the Switch
The scientist guy from Super Metroid appeared on an episode of NCIS. It was the episode back in season 7 or season 8 where a female lieutenant was seemingly killed in broad daylight in full view of a camera in the Pentagon by a colleague.
But I was not lost. The Metroid prime series is still revived by the Nintendo switch remaster and Metroid prime for beyond so they are still getting a revival of the prime series after so many dormant years.
Man that Metroid Prime commercial is classic. That track is fire, I’ve been searching for something like it for years. Second place goes to Other M’s Past is Prologue trailer. Also ill
Of all the things to market for Metroid: Zero Mission, they marketed the jump. Not the action, not the atmosphere, not even the Metroids, they marketed the jump. What were they thinking?!?!
The Metroid II commercial is incorrect, right? It claims that a Metroid survived on Zebes and is now multiplying? I thought Samus was just going to the source of the Metroids, SR388. Either the story of Metroid II got retconned, or the makers of the commercial misinterpreted/made up parts of the story.
The latter. The real story is how you remember it. The commercial got it wrong. It’s not surprising, really. Remember Captain N? Ever wondered why Samus never appeared there? The developers claimed they didn’t know she existed. Yeah....
Found it! Not really a “Metroid” commercial, as it has other games. Still amazing ad I remember to this day! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-eNaUaMYc_yo.html
TIL that 90% of Metroid commercials were hot garbage. And here I was wondering why it's not in Nintendo's top selling franchises. Maybe use a different marketing company next time?
Joseph Ballesteros technically true but Samus isn't playable it's just that we've been waiting years for anew Metroid game since other m and they give us this meh game. Where you don't even play as a Samus we don't want to play as the federation those guys are just supposed to be cannon fodder who move out of the way and let Samus deal with it.
Other M was a decent Game they gave Samus character and the gameplay was neat (besides point to advance segments) Again Federation is literally just your Prime series but from a different of this galaxy you're Federation troops As much as I love Metroid and Samus what can they do with it? Fusion sealed their story forever they can't go forward and going backwards we got Other M
