The villain themes got better and better each game. None of the villain themes will live up to descole’s theme and the mask gentlemen’s theme. Heck I’d even say the reunion inn should count as a boss theme as it’s the theme that plays when you confront Randall (the masked gentleman) and if it does count it’s easily 2nd/3rd best

Man, all these guys are sick, I admittedly don't remember Bronev that well so maybe not him? To be honest, Layton villains are all really well done. If I had to rank it would like something like this. Descole > Clive > Paolo > Masked Gentleman > Anton > Dimitri (If he counts) (excluding Bronev for obvious reasons) Descole's in first mostly due to the fact that he was given the most development out of all of the Layton villains and when I first saw him in Last Specter/Specter's flute I remember thinking of him as a foil to Layton, as he possessed a lot of the same traits that Layton did, but rather than help people chose to pursue his own agenda. Clive was the first villain who had that sort of 'Mastermind' vibe in the series, as the two preceding villains were more characters who happened to be in a location which inherently had a bunch of mysteries going on and were antagonistic of Layton. Unwound/lost future introduced characters who were behind all of the games mysteries, and although this applies for both Dimitri and Clive, Clive kind of overshadowed Dimitri. Paolo, although also recurring, was never really the main focus of the game, although he was the 'main antagonist' of Curious Village, the game itself focused more on the mysteries of St. Mystère rather than Paolo, and although he made appearances in the next two games, he was never the main focus of the story, although he had his moments. The Masked Gentleman, although interesting falls somewhat short of top 3 due to his motivation. Although his motivation was interesting, it was literally all a setup by someone else. This isn't inherently bad, it's just that I really find it somewhat frustrating that they didn't bother to confirm any facts about what they were told and instead believed some anonymous letter. It's not the most implausible thing considering the fact that the character is shown to be somewhat impulsive, but they were literally prepared to kill an entire city worth of people based off an anonymous letter. Also what the heck is up with the actually working wings? I can't remember it ever being explained, is it supposed to be a glider of some kind? For Anton, despite really enjoying diabolical box and his character, he never really felt like a villain in the series. He's also in this weird spot where's kind of responsible for the stuff in the game, but's completely unaware of it himself. As much as I like his character he isn't really a villain. And finally, Dimitri, I don't really remember that much about him, but in general he's pretty much overshadowed in his game, so... I don't really know what else to say about him? I liked the puzzle battles though, those were cool. Edit: Also kind of disappointed that the "Vs" character themes weren't included, at the very least I feel like the storyteller should have been in there, since I saw him as the villain on the Layton side, since he's behind the majority of the games mysteries, with Darklaw being the villain on the Ace Attorney side.
The masked gentleman is just me in every roblox freedraw server ever. People turned to stone: extreme lag spike causing majority of people to crash and disconnect Masked gentleman on top of building: me in the centre of the map saying his lines but instead of Monte Dor its Free Draw [Ppl get antsy] People start to float in the air: me making it lag more killing more ppls devices Overall, ppl don't believe me when I say to be nice to me otherwise they'd regret it, and normally, the second I use my lag abilities, the surviving players back down and apologise. [For ppl who will say that they can just hide what causes the lag from the leaderboards, when you leave and rejoin it removed that hide effect and when i join, they dint know whats coming so they all suffer in the end =)]
1: Love a video like this exist. 2: Man Layton villains know to have great music to accompany theme especially my man Descole. 3: I want to point out for Unwound that piece of filth Bill Hawks is a villain, as he should.
The first one disguised himself as an officer, and later nearly killed Layton and co. with a flying helicopter that took down an entire tower. (He also tried to kill them with a Ferris wheel). The second one kiddnapped people and intended to kill Layton and co. The third, as you see, consists of three people. The man in a white suit kiddnapped multiple scientists and runs a mafia-like organization called “the family”. The man in the red suit caused an explosion that killed 10 people. He later suppressed any information about the incident from reaching the public. The boy at the bottom of the image assisted the man in the white suit, only to betray him and reveal that he’s been constructing a weapon of mass destruction behind his back. This weapon would later damage/destroy a portion of London. I don’t know what the people in the fourth and fifth picture did, but I do know that the man present in both images disguises himself multiple times and attempted to kill Layton once or twice. The fifth the leader of a organization called targent, a thug filled group that is quite similar to the family. They seize any land that has any significance to an ancient civilization called the azran, no matter what the cost. He also is responsible for unleashing a weapon of mass destruction, while not created by him, was enabled by him.
*(Miracle Mask spoilers)* The guy in white in the fifth picture is the Masked Gentleman from the Miracle Mask. Layton and co. are called by a friend to the town of Monte D’or because the guy is performing impossible “miracles” that gradually become more horrific and destructive as the story progresses and is the main antagonist you’re dealing with. He’s guilty of some villain crimes such as turning citizens to stone, stealing+hanging Luke from the ceiling and basically attempted destruction of Monte D’or and everyone in it
Cool Dude McGee sorry if im late, but the 4th one on the pic has 2 villains. The first one on the top wanted to stop Layton from learning more things about the Specter, he then proceeded to capture and Arrest Layton along with his assistant and his aprentice. The one on the bottom, just like Don Paolo he tried to kill Layton many times with his incredible Engineering, but a plot twist hapened at Azran Legacy, this man’s goal is to discover ancient things before Targent does (ps. The man on the sixth pic is the head of Targent.)
